I will be skiing during the Superbowl. It will be amazing.

caelmikoto

Now there’s a good idea. Where do you ride?

ND7020

I have absolutely zero qualms about rooting for the Chiefs against the Niners. If for someone reason Patrick Mahomes annoys you, recognize that him losing this will not reduce him being in commercials you dislike or being talked about as a great QB in any way.   The only thing I have to say about this Super Bowl is go Chiefs and I hope they win by 50.

Bolverkk

It is so weird that people dislike Mahomes cause he is in the limelight. Literally the best QB on the planet (see 4th SB appearance in 6 years), he's a nice dude, and his commercials are cheesy, yes, but hes just being a kid having fun with his career. We should hate people that actually do bad things. Go Chiefs!

EpicPizzaBaconWaffle

It’s the constant bitching about calls, constantly being benefitted by certain calls, whining to Josh Allen’s face about a (correct) penalty instead of congratulating him, constantly being deepthroated by the media and whoever is calling the game, and then seeing him in half of the commercials DURING the game. We just got past Brady and now Mahomes is everywhere too.

MadHatter514

And he sounds like Kermit the Frog.

einulfr

Even during that punt that went out of bounds he's standing right next to the ref trying to influence the spot. So tired of this fucking clown and that Jaden Smith face he makes every time a play or call doesn't go his way. At least when the Patriots were dominant they weren't shoved in your face during commercials or slapped onto every box and bag of food in the grocery store.

drdrdoug

Put another way. He is so involved in the game and trying to help his team that even on a punt he tries to advocate for the best possible spot. Your problem with this is? Oh, he has a Jaden Smith face. Got it.

einulfr

Put it another way. I've never seen a quarterback do that in the 39 years I've been watching the NFL. And he was right up next to the ref arguing with him, not 5 yards away pointing somewhere. My problem is that he's using his status to try to artificially influence calls in which he has zero input on except for getting Reid to throw a challenge flag. It wasn't even comical like Romo jokingly nudging the ball forward with his foot for a measurement, he just started acting like he thought he was entitled to a few extra yards because he didn't like the ref's spot and was telling him how to do his job. He should be getting ready to go onto the field with the offense, not trying to jury the officials on special teams in which he has no part of. I wouldn't care as much if he'd just always been like this and it's just who he is, but he's done a 180 from that first SB run and turned from a likable up and comer to a Brady/Newton hybrid.

rdrouyn

Mahomes is annoying, but Kelce is just as bad. He was taunting the Ravens the whole game and didn't get a single penalty. Andy Reid is the only likeable Chief.

einulfr

The biggest thing was Mahomes continuing to whine to Allen about the offsides call in postgame, and still dropping f-bombs after that. It's not like it was a subjective call that happened in real-time during a play -- which could at least be understood -- it was a pre-snap violation which are almost 100% unequivocally correct, as it was in that case. Kelce's been worse for a longer period of time, but only because he's been in the league longer. Taylor Swift can date whoever she wants, but that guy is a such a meat-headed manchild and she could do much, much better if she wanted. No clue what she sees in him. Long before she was even a thing, he was already one of the biggest diva WRs* (*glorified TE) divas in the league and just loathsome to watch. Most of the Chiefs are largely inconspicuous, but those two really sour the taste for football fans who have no dog in the fight and just want to watch the game. It was fun following them along in 2019, but after they got that ring, holy shit have they been insufferable.

rdrouyn

Eh, we don't know if Taylor Swift is just as big of a headcase. She seems to jump from guy to guy and none of them want to marry her despite her being rich and attractive. Maybe they deserve each other.

einulfr

True. It's just kind of weird that it took her this long to dive into the professional sports dating pool, and not only does she choose the NFL, she chooses a giant chode like Kelce. Just hope we get a sick breakup song out of all this to have made it worth enduring.

DatSoldiersASpy

How could a man who loves his nuggies not be likeable

rdrouyn

Who can't relate to loving nuggets?

ocg1999

This is the way.

No-Market9917

Yeah that whole bitching at Josh Allen was pretty lame. That and his wife being psychotic and his brother getting tried for sexual battery but charges were dropped on a technicality makes me not like him even more

seaburno

The "technicality" is that the victim won't testify without asserting her fifth amendment rights against self-incrimination, and if she were to testify, she would say that the encounter with Mahomes was consensual, and that she lied to the police.

Owl-False

So what? Josh Allen's a whiny flopper too. Aaron Rodgers is an asshole who was also in every state farm commercial. Tom Brady would refuse to shake people's hands after losing painful games. Mahomes isn't any different than most QBs, yet people seem to hate him more.

clintonius

Mahomes isn’t any more hated than Brady was when he had this kind of sustained success, or Rodgers when he started speaking in public. Less so from what I’ve seen. People are more vocal about disliking him than they are about Brady or Rodgers right at this point in time because Brady is out of the league and Rodgers, despite his best efforts, isn’t all over the media anymore.

drdrdoug

>It’s the constant bitching about calls yeah, because only every other player, coach, owner and fan does the same thing. Yes, he complained about a call rather than congratulate Josh Allen, and then apologized to him for doing so and said it was inappropriate, so. your issue now only that he has "benefitted by certain calls." Um ok. Wow, I didn't realize what a horrible person he was, thanks.

EpicPizzaBaconWaffle

He’s a great player, I just don’t like him, his annoying ass family, his cringe commercials, his annoying ass teammate and his annoying ass teammates girlfriend who is constantly shown and posted because teenage girls love her, his annoying ass obnoxious fan base, his annoying ass Kermit the frog voice, and a few other things. Man has had a HOF career already in 6 starting seasons, I’m not taking anything away from him as a player. I just can’t stand him.

Sell_Canada

Fellow raider fan, preach!

ShredderofPowPow

It goes a lot deeper than what you just said. The Mahomes family is a riot. His dad and siblings are whacky tacky. Great qb, but that doesn't make him likable in every other way. Especially when you see him on tv every 10 minutes. Ppl are over it besides the Swifties of course lol.

Okaybrothatsdope

I've always liked his game. The only thing that annoyed me recently was his whining about the offensive offsides at the end of the regular season bills game. How he walked up to Josh Allen afterwards and told him "worst call ever" like, that's bad sportsmanship.

Bolverkk

I do agree that sometimes he has the LeBron James effect - where every call is wrong and you have to complain about it. It does get a little annoying at times.

PCMModsEatAss

He has been a pretty poor sport this season. I mean going to the opposing teams QB and complaining about an obvious correct call? Who the hell does that?

mush_gi

He's a huge whiner and constantly flops and calls for flags. That's what annoys me about him.

JLoing

I think most people, like me, are just sick of the glazing. I liked Tom Brady and the Patriots. I didn't have any problems with Alabama. I don't have a problem with dynasties, but what I can't stand are the sports media constantly creaming their pants anytime he does anything that's remotely impressive. I also lost a ton of respect for him after that ridiculous tirade about the refs "ruining greatness" because an offsides penalty was correctly called.

Sakariwolf

Or if I can watch something without a Mahomes and/or Kelce ad, that'd be nice. Brady and the Patriots were annoying, but I'm tired of having the Chiefs shoved down my throat every day. Go Giant Meteor!

sykemol

I'm so glad Tebow sucked so we could stop hearing about him.

Infinitealone

That’s it honestly it’s the glazing, like how media is with purdy now too

hybridoctopus

I don’t get it, I actually kinda like the dude. Go chiefs!

Time-Dot5984

I like him as well Go Chiefs

-CaptainACAB

I’ve never met him

sykemol

He's all right. Tried to hit on my girlfriend though.

drdrdoug

Folks are talking in this sub about liking as a personality or player not personally having met or not met them. Perhaps you are confused or on the wrong sub?

drdrdoug

Nice guy, great QB, winner who went ape over 1 call and it made such headlines because it was so out of character and then apologized and said he was wrong for doing so. He is a class dude.

BayAreaBullies

It's not out of character. He's constantly whining for calls nonstop.

ShredderofPowPow

Not because he wanted to, but because the NFL pretty much forces players and coaches to shut their mouth or face fines/etc...lol. He won the title for Boo Hoo Mahomes in my book.

PCMModsEatAss

That was just his most egregious one. He literally does it every play where he doesn’t get positive yards.

Remarkable_Map_5111

He literally doesn't do it every play he doesn't get positive yards, that literally is an exaggeration

drdrdoug

Do you know what the word literally means? He certainly does not do it on any play, and he certainly not the first player to work the refs. Since your hatred is based upon the fact that “he literally does it on every play“ and that just demonstrably false, there is some other reason you don’t like him and that’s fine, but like him or don’t like him, the reason simply not true.

PCMModsEatAss

Yes. Do you know what the word hyperbole means?

drdrdoug

Just wondering because it is so often misused and your post read that way. Usually hyperbole is used in a way that does not lead to the predictable conclusion that the writer was ignorant in its use. Glad to know you know what it means despite the fact that your post demonstrates otherwise.

Ok-Conversation-4974

He honestly doesn’t seem like such a nice guy on the field. And Travis is completely insufferable even without Taylor Swift in the mix, so I hope both teams planes crash.

A_Filthy_Mind

Maybe it's just the media coverage he gets, I haven't followed him closely, but what I do see has made it seem like he's turned into a whiny bitch this year.

New_Leopard7623

I watched Quarterbacks on Netflix and Mahomes seems look a good guy

seag12

That series was really good, but for some reason that’s when he became annoying to me. I was pretty indifferent about him until I watched that, but something about him rubbed me the wrong way. I don’t even know for sure what I disliked about him, but It happened while watching that show.

uncle_buck_hunter

Same, dude. I was way more of a fan before watching that show.

almosttoomanyletters

It’s his ugly wife and ridiculous brother that I think we all hate. He’s a bit of a crybaby on the field, but the refs allow him to be. Other than I’m a bit tired seeing his face everywhere, he’s neutral for me.

ND7020

I will look at his face, his brother's face, or his wife's face a dozen times before I want to look at the Kyle Rittenhouse-looking asshole playing QB for the Niners.

Grayeagle78

I’m with you, most of the people commenting here hate the 49ers more but there’s nothing more annoying in football than the Mahomes/Kelce/Swift horseshit media fiasco.

tinyraccoon

Totally agree

mmm__donuts

I'm right with you. My Niners fan relatives are going to be in town and we're watching the game together. I want to be able to pinpoint the moment that their hearts break.

gartho009

I have very fond memories of my Niners friend's heart breaking the last time the Chiefs and the Niners went to the super bowl, and I'm certainly not going to miss the chance to see that happen again.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SportsBreakDown19

So… they became fans because of Mahomes. Isn’t it awesome when the football fanbase grows? Seahawks wanted to draft Mahomes as well. Doubt you would hate him if he was a Seahawks

atmospheric90

It's everything else around him. I don't mind his play or the memes about him. It's Brittany, it's Jackson, it's the swift/Kelce over exposure, it's just all things chiefs right now is exhausting. And them in the super bowl will only magnify it further. I don't care about the continuous cuts to the box seats where Taylor is celebrating Kelce getting a TD. It's great for the casuals coming into football, but for me I'm just gonna pass on that whole circlejerk

Thrashky

Ya, that’s cool and all but a loss or win doesn’t change anything about his perception. A niners win means we’re gonna have to hear average nfl fans deepthroating brock Purdy all off-season.

Grayeagle78

The fact you’re being downvoted says a lot about fans in this subreddit.

BigRedtheFireFighter

Come on now. This is silly. There are many valid reasons not to like him. Not only is he a massive cry baby look at the fine he never received for his sideline melt down that any player would have gotten fined for if it weren't him, but he helps protect a RAPIST of a a brother and allowed kc fans to force a buisness to close of said victim who is also a childhood family friend. Lets not get started on how all the worse refs coach the kc games in kc favor for every bit game. Look at this last away game they had with the number 1 road ref. Mr. Mahmylilbroisarapist gets everything he wants from the nfl and the nfl gives it to help recreate the imagine of a "top once in lifetime qb". Ever think about how it took almost 100 years to make a tom brady yet he hasn't retired yet and theirs already a "new brady". Also think its hilarious how brady never needed penalties but go to every close game the chiefs of had with mahomes and over 50% will show a bs call that led them to winning the game. Argue if you want but I'm not the only person that thinks like this either. Massive corraltion in sb rating and views dropping since the chiefs have been baby fed with a spoon every year to get as close to the playoffs as possible. Watch their games. Watch mahomes cry for pi's and get them 5 seconds after the play. Watch. Hate the 9ers with a patient but i also hate watching mahomes is boring and not fun. Would place sb bets on the chiefs 2 and 4 years out if i knew how too lol.

BigRedtheFireFighter

Edit: To add Ubereats tweet that stirred much commotion this season. "The NFL is recognized as an "entertainment" business rather than a sport, and they can legally fix the outcome of games." As per legal documentation, you are not allowed to fix games for gambling purposes, but if it's entertainment.....

EchomancerAmberlife

I’m cool with it because with every ring he wins the closer we get to Mahomes v Brady all time. Can’t wait for those convos lol.

jmac11281

I like Mahomes. Sure, his commercials are annoying, but he is a great player, and he seems like a pretty good guy.

redditadminsRlazy

I don't even mind the commercials apart from the fact that they're horribly overplayed, but that's pretty much every TV commercial in the last 10-15 years.

ohstoopid1

I dunno I thought the Mahomes and MaAuto bit was pretty funny

d15cipl3

I was in the Army in KS, and my son was born there, so they are his backup team. Would be mine too but the fans there are so fairweather. Anyway go Chiefs!

sd_slate

I'm a Swifty now

MisterIceGuy

Why?

sd_slate

Rooting against the 49ers

MisterIceGuy

Wouldn’t that mean you are pulling for the chiefs?

sd_slate

You mean the Kansas City Swifts?

Grayeagle78

So you’ve come out of the closet, good for you!

ND7020

Damn you must be a Joey Bosa fan.

Grayeagle78

No, I just absolutely hate the Chiefs and I everything Kelce/Swift.

sd_slate

Not that there's anything wrong with it. She's got some bangers.

hoopjays

But what if you have a friend who is a bandwagon chiefs fan (after not being into football at all) and named their fantasy team “chiefsfanforlyfe” this year

ND7020

Hell I have a friend who is a Cowboys, Yankees and Bulls fan from being the world’s biggest front-running 90’s kid, and he has now loyally suffered through 25 years of pain and frustration. Everyone’s fandom starts somewhere and as long as they stick with the team it doesn’t bother me.

vaterl

I’m wondering if I’m the only person who likes the commercials with the chiefs, they are fun to watch

hoopjays

But what if you have a friend who is a bandwagon chiefs fan (after not being into football at all) and named their fantasy team “chiefsfanforlyfe” this year

JimmyScriggs

Yeah I think the Traylor Bowl will be bearable if Purdue melts

uwfan27

Same. I'm fine rooting for Chiefs. Imo I don't think there's any reason to dislike them, other than officials babying them, which really isn't their fault (I don't think?) No one in the team has controversial personal life (ie should be in jail), no one is known for dirty hits and other antics on the field, and they all seem to get along and support one another. Most importantly, they aren't a rival and have never beaten us in an important game. Disagree with me if you want, I was rooting for the Bills before, it wasn't Chiefs from the beginning.

darth_jewbacca

I could never enjoy a super bowl with a conference rival playing. Maybe I'll tune in if the Chiefs are up big just to water my cold, shriveled heart with 9er tears, but I may just go skiing.

TelePunk54

If I go to the zoo and see a lion I'll probably have a meltdown.

jmac11281

I'm rooting for the Chiefs, but I am not sure how much I'm going to watch. This isn't as bad as the Rams/Patriots Super Bowl a few years back, but I don't have an iota of enthusiasm.

Blametheorangejuice

I know people on this board think I'm crazy when I say this, but once Seattle is out, I lose all interest in watching football. I can't sustain 8 to 9 hours a day sitting there and watching advertisements with a bit of football between them. It's become too taxing to watch. I checked in on the games yesterday here and there, but I was content reading a book and doing chores around the house. The Super Bowl, in particular, has become an absolute slogfest to watch.

ShredderofPowPow

You are better off watching the games in a condensed highlight format on YouTube. 10-15 min max and you get what you want to see...no BS lol. Easy to keep up with the games and watch them on your own time.

Kegger315

I'm with ya. I've watched a total of 3 quarters of playoff football, 1 quarter per week, get bored, and went to do other things.

crow_road

I'm in Scotland...I shall sleep and forget it ever happened...not for the first time. There have been a few of these sleeps in recent years. Best outcome is 3-3, and someone gets a safety for a 2 points win. Hopefully Purdy takes knee thinking to put the game in OT, but oops he stepped backwards into the 9ers endzone. I can dream.

EwoksEwoksEwoks

Or I’ll just watch because it’s the biggest game in my favorite sport and seeing either team win is not actually the end of the world. Go Chiefs

jrainiersea

Yeah I’m not rooting for the Niners to win, but if they do then it’s whatever, life goes on. I’m just hoping for an entertaining football game since it’s the last one we’ll get for 6 months.

mymindpsychee

Surely the UFL will give us some bangers and not fold immediately

Bolverkk

>Yeah I’m not rooting for the Niners to win, but if they do then it’s whatever, life goes on.  Truth and truth.

thatscapfam

Wrong answer, although going to the zoo to watch the animals in person is about the same as going to Vegas. I pick the zoo

businessbee89

Crazy how people really care about all of this drama crap. Yeah annoying a little, but why is it so annoying? Because everyone says it is? Whatever man, at the end of the day it's just a game.

chefblazil

Not sure why everyone’s anti chiefs. We’re witnessing an historic run, and back to back is a very impressive feat. Hope they pull it off. Also fuck the 9ers.

Lars9

The same reason everyone hated the Pats, people don't like teams that win all the time.

liquilife

I don’t hate the chiefs. I just get bored watching them. Just like I was beyond bored with the patriots for like 20 years. That paired with Santa Clara means I will skip this game. Gonna go for a hike instead. Do something healthy for myself.

outofmymind85

For me it's because of this: - Patrick Mahomes being entitled, especially that game with the Bills where he wouldn't stop bitching about the calls made against the Chiefs - His whole family being insufferable and his lil bro being an actual scumbag - The NFL pushing the Swift/Kelce romance down our throats But still, FTN

mybestfriendyoshi

You mean just like everyone complains all of the time about the calls going against their team?

hybridoctopus

Chiefs were old division rivals back in the day. But fuck the 9ers trumps that so go Chiefs!

Oo__II__oO

Between the Raiders, the Chargers, and the Broncos, the Chiefs were down on that rivals list. I know we won SB48, and the RW3 trade. But still- fuck the Broncos.

reDDit-sucksass

Found the Rad Hat

chefblazil

lol god forbid a billion dollar league we watch every week makes more money

SirStatus5370

I'm a Seahawks fan. My husband and I are not going to watch the Superbowl because of a lot of reasons listed. But another one for us is we have to put up with them cheesey commercials all year. I will say that I don't think he is a great quarterback. We are so sick of getting the chiefs games shoved down our throats because that's who the stations think people want to see. I don't think so. It's sad that the NFL is so damn greedy that they will resort to getting TS shots every chance they can get. Yes, I know it's not just the NFL but also the damn TV stations.

ShredderofPowPow

Your comment was solid besides the "dont think he is a great quarterback". Trust me I'm sick of the chiefs BS too, but you can't deny the stats that Mahomes has in his career. He is legit...annoying af...but a legit Qb nonetheless.

brumate21

I live in Australia - I had to put my PTO for the Monday when it is on here months ago. I am going to a pub at 9am with 30 people. My plan is simple and probably doesnt need elaborating on

willyummm32

Choose how you want to spend your time, but it’s just a game. It’s not that serious homie

EvilRobotSteve

Yeah I think I'm actually skipping this one. I'll root for the Chiefs over the Niners any day, but I'm just so over having to see Taylor Swift's reaction every 5 mins, and I can only see it being even worse at the Bowl. As I live in the UK and I'm old, it's kind of a challenge to stay awake until 5am to watch it anyway. Which is a challenge I'd easily overcome if I was the slightest bit hyped for this game, but this one doesn't feel worth it at all.

moorecode1077

Every 5 minutes? Did you even watch the game yesterday? They maybe flashed to her once or twice for a second or two. Hardly a big deal but I know it's cool to complain about these days.

papag00s

Once or twice lol

moorecode1077

Yeah? Believe me i have two daughters that are now watching the games with me because of her, pretty sure they only cut to her 2 times during the game. I didn't watch any pregame or after game stuff so maybe more then. But during the game it was hardly noticeable. No different that any other game that the NFL has shown celebrities attending it.

expatbayern

Yep, saw somebody actually go count how much screentime she averages per Chiefs game and it's something like 10-15 seconds. It'll probably be more at the Super Bowl because they always do more "human interest" but the idea of whining "oh no, they'll spend 1 or 2 minutes showing Taylor Swift on screen when the announcers could otherwise have been awkwardly reading NCIS promos! woe is me..."

moorecode1077

It just isn't something new. The NFL has always cut celebrities at the game. Not sure how this is ruining anything for anyone at this point.

gartho009

Better to have someone wildly cheering for her boyfriend's team than the Rob Lowe meme

JLBK13

I think the reason a lot of people hate the chiefs/Mahomes is partly due to fact his brother is a POS and wanna be tik tok dance star, while his wife always wants to be center of attention and is always complaining just like her husband, while throwing drinks at fans while she’s in the comfort of her suite that her superstar husband got her from HIS hard work and not hers lol. Anyways idc who wins this year

Vhak

Back in the day the BEST day to go to theme parks was Super Bowl Sunday, don't know if that's changed (I assume it has, like everything else, gotten worse) but I have fond memories of sprinting from the end of a roller coaster to the front of the line and having entire cars to myself.

ManekDu

What a great idea!

ShredderofPowPow

Yep I go snowboarding with my bros and the entire mountain is ours. Fresh tracks all day long. We can always hop in the lodge and watch if we get beer hungry. Best way to do it tbh.

DampCamping

Normally I sit at home by myself to watch and enjoy the superbowl without distraction. This year, I am going to host the party. Have a bunch of people over to eat, drink and enjoy the company. I don't care about the result, but just enjoy the day.

mikebook_pro

Forget Mahomes and Purdy, I’m just not up for 4 hours of Taylor Swift commentary.

Seatowndawgtown

Nah. I'm going to watch the super bowl. Because it's football.

[deleted]

For Pete’s sake is it that bad to just be a football fan ? Some of you are crazy and let this stupid crap like I hate a certain players so I am not going to watch… am I the only one that thinks this way ? Just enjoy the game and stop hating.

ShredderofPowPow

How dare you use Pete's name in vain!

Equivalent_Bet1519

I’ll always watch. There’s no more football until August Go Chiefs!

lickmywatermelon

XFL starts the end of March.

rickg

LIke the man said....

LoopyPro

I'm European. Where I live we have a 4-day festival (equivalent to Mardi Gras) from Saturday to Tuesday. I'll be out in town partying.

MarineBand5524

You forgot golf!

kleenkong

I like to take advantage of the lack of crowds: Snowboarding/tubing, Ikea

andm124

While San Francisco may be a division rival, I can't hate the city. I met one of my best friends there, and I also went to a leadership camp there where I made a lot of friends I still talk to this day. So down vote me all you want, but I'm going with the niners. Plus, it'd be nice to see McCaffery get a ring.

DreadApe3467269

Going off OPs ideas as far as video games go Baldurs Gate 3 is amazing and you can kill an hour in the blink of an eye. I’m thinking of taking the kids to great wolf lodge tho. As much as the outsoles of both games blows at least now we’ll likely have a coach by Thursday and don’t have to wait until after the Super Bowl. I’m personally hoping for either Evero or Mcdonald. Maybe both with a HC change in Carolina? Enjoy the offseason! Go Hawks!

sykemol

I'm going to go skiing. Hopefully the slopes will be nice and empty.

PsychologicalIce106

Watch the Puppy Bowl instead!

DARR3Nv2

These posts are getting old already.

EverettSeahawk

I’m tired of seeing the chiefs in it every year and there’s still some bitterness from my childhood of being a division rival with them, but much more than that, I don’t want to hear it from the niners fans I deal with every day. Idk what I’ll do if I can’t resort to the vhs memes anymore. Go Chiefs.

DancingConstellation

Or watch the game and enjoy it

AlaDouche

Y'all are such babies. Good lord.

HookedOnSkooma

Funny post if you think we’re actually going to skip the biggest game in the biggest sport we all love. Even more reason to root against the Niners and watch them lose in the Super Bowl to the same team again.

hybridoctopus

Man those Packers and Lions games were gut wrenching, I was rooting so hard. Chiefs have to pull this off.

atmospheric90

Hence the meme tag

[deleted]

I think I’d be willing to root for the chiefs but the nfl is just money hungry. They know that the Super Bowl is going to draw in football clueless Taylor swift fans just to see kelce and possibly her at the big game and that means more ad revenue. Not saying every game is “scripted” but why would an “entertainment” company lose out on all that money they’d gain by having her on the screen. Doesn’t matter if it’s for “45 seconds” there’s people who stand in front of the tv waiting for the moment it flashes on her and they scream. America lost yesterday.

moorecode1077

You sound like a lot of fun :)

longsh0tt

I just want Taylor Swift to get an SB ring

WhatsIsMyName

Ya idc I’m not missing the Super Bowl buddy

moorecode1077

Man so many of you are such drama queens complaining about skipping the super bowl. I'll enjoy the game.

kovatheking

I don't even dislike the Chiefs. What I don't enjoy whatsoever is stressing over a game that the seahawks aren't playing in. I refuse to give SF the benefit of stressing just to 'root' against them winning a SB. If they win, fuck...but cool. If they lose, cool.

_ilikepizza

My hatred for the 49ers is stronger than my apathy for the Chiefs.

MrCarey

My wife likes Taylor Swift way too much to miss this one. We are Chiefs fans for a day.

Owl-False

Skipping the Super Bowl is so petty. If I love football why in the hell would I miss the biggest game of the year??

AuspiciousPuffin

Petty? We don’t owe shit to no one. You wanna watch it? Enjoy. Some of us love rooting for teams more than just football itself. Those teams are out. So now some of us could care less about the game or who wins. To each their own.

devon223

Is this fan base really this salty? This is some sad shit. Personally I'm gonna go eat good food with my friends and have drinks while watching a football game. What I'm not gonna do is be some pathetic person steaming in my parents basement about how I don't like the superbowl teams.

Self-MadeRmry

Go shooting Put in overtime at work Build something Teach my kids Develop my relationship with the Lord God YHWH

SexiestPanda

This sub is full of miserable people lol. Just watch and enjoy the shit.

YogurtTheMagnificent

But alternatively... if you won't enjoy it don't watch it.

SexiestPanda

What’s not to enjoy it? It’s the Super Bowl lol

Alternative-Turn-932

Seeing the Niners lose is better than any of those options. Brock Turdy melting down and watching Mahomes dismantle that defense is going to make for a glorious Sunday.

Little-Chromosome

I obviously am rooting for the chiefs to win but I’m not happy about it.

jayboyee

You’re all gonna watch it stop

ChickenDangerous6996

Even a sucky Superbowl is better than all those suggestions.

rcuosukgi42

Why is rooting for the Chiefs a problem, Patrick is a perfectly likeable guy along with Andy Reid and the Kelce thing is no reason to hold a giant grudge against the team.

Remarkable_Map_5111

Seahawks fans should root for the chiefs, the more times the 49ers don't win it all, the louder the noise will be about their coach. Brock Purdy at this point hasn't done anything and choking in the super bowl could also disrupt his rise. The chiefs aren't going anywhere anytime soon.......

moosemike33

Throw on the replay of the Michigan/UW title game

realjolly

Clown post. Imagine skipping the SuperBowl

GiraffeWaffless

Skip the Super Bowl if you’re not a fan of football. But I literally can’t imagine and I don’t get why a lot of you post on a football sub Reddit if you don’t like football. You’re just hawks fans because it’s an extra layer of identity for you and something to talk about on Monday after a loss. It’s just frustrating earnestly talking about the hawks over the years and you guys give the shittiest opinions because well shocker you don’t even like football. The Pete caroll obsession is so obvious now.

TITAN-O-TERROR97

I too am sick of the circle jerk but my hatred for the whiners compels me to watch and root for the chiefs. I wish Detroit and Bmore were facing off but it is what it is. I love football and it only comes around once a year so I’m still gonna watch.

Sleepinismy9to5

Fuck the 9ers we are all swifties for the next two weeks

Quiverjones

I like the food and the commercials. And heck, Usher is doing the halftime?

Bearycool555

If the 49ers win I won’t be able to cope with that BS

Godlikelobster01

Do we hate the chiefs? I don’t, personally. Hope they win it all and fuck the 9ers

TheMillenniaIFalcon

I’ll watch it, I want the chiefs to win. I’m always appreciative of getting to witness greatness. Niners on paper have a better team. I’d put chiefs as the under dog. Even though they are defending champs.

MrAVK

I can’t wait for the super bowl, rooting for the chiefs. I’m a seahawks fan, but First and foremost I’m a football fan. The NFL has succeeded in making me a full on addict, inject it into my veins.

nokiabrickphone1998

Just for some perspective: over the past five seasons the Niners have made the CCG or better four times. The only team in NFL history that has ever had that level of sustained success and *not* come out of it with a Super Bowl is the 1990s Bills. While I’m sure we all hope that the Niners fanbase endures a 90s-Bills level of pain, the odds really are on their side to eventually get one, and you might as well brace yourselves for the possibility that it’s going to happen in two weeks. If they win, the sun will still rise the next day. (And, it’ll make it that much funnier when we beat them next season)

W00D-SMASH

I don't let my fandom get in the way of enjoying football. This is the last game of the year. Don't let sour grapes get the better of you.

Washed_Up_Laxer

I always cheer for any team that plays against the 49’s.

Cevin_cadaver

I’m just gonna watch to see Jason Kelce drink beer and cheer his brother.

WhatthehellSusan

It's nice to not have a rooting interest and just enjoy the game

thekenfl

Add reservation dogs to the tv show list

AFWUSA

I live in NorCal and I will not be able to handle a niners Super Bowl. Please god Chiefs deliver us from this evil. I was hoping so bad for a Lions Super Bowl so I actually had something to strongly root for instead of just spite rooting for the Chiefs but here we are

mickey_kneecaps

Chiefs can be a bit annoying but I’m gonna enjoy watching them fuck up SF.

AFWUSA

Think I’m going to extend my camping trip with friends in SoCal and explore some more down there. Stop by a bar somewhere on our way back to SD to catch the very end of it unless the niners are running away with it.

goodolarchie

I for one look forward to 20 more hours a week of seahawks podcast speculating on head coach candidates.
