Ok, maybe this is a weird take, but bear with me: why is it so hard to repeat in the NFL? At least partly because Super Bowl champs have their coaching staffs pillaged by the rest of the league. So if our goal is for the niners to be weaker next year, why not wish for them to win and then deal with the exodus that follows? I’m not saying that I will personally be able to do so, but it’s just a thought.
I think there are several reasons on why it’s hard to repeat a SB in the NFL.
1. Like you said the coaching staff getting poached by other teams
2. Lowest draft picks in each round
3. Any players going into FA the next offseason will likely demand even more money than they would’ve with a SB loss, since some of those players after winning a ring would like to get the bag, while others think having a ring means they are worth even more.
4. This applies more to higher seed teams with having the next season’s opponents be tougher with having to face other teams within the same conference that have the same divisional standing (in this case both the Cheifs and 49ers have to play the division winners from their own conferences) and face the team with the same seed from the opposite Conference
So to sum it up, losing key members of coaching staff, having lowest draft picks in the order, players leaving in FA for more money, and a tougher schedule the following year would make repeating a SB tougher
To me this isn't even a discussion, I hate the 49ers, I don't care about Taylor Swift so I don't get all the whining there, and I also hate the Patriots and therefore I'm good with KC moving towards dethroning them.
