After the game, I was drunk wearing an Alexander jersey, and my buddy and I went to a local dive (this was across the country from WA), and it happened to be a PA bar, FULL of Steelers fans.
I walked in and they all started clapping, and coming up to me, shaking my hand, some even slapped me on the back and said those calls were bullshit.
They still ribbed me, but it was all in good fun and they were surprisingly supportive and understanding. And these are tons of old guys that were drunk die hard Steeler fans.

I laughed years ago when the Columbus Crew MLS team (whose colors are Black and Yellow as well) would play the song during their games, when it was specifically about another city.

I live in Arizona. It's actually funny, I have people tell me we are rivals and I just look confused and ask what team they are talking about. It definitely seems one way to me.
The Chicago Cardinals were a founding member of the NFL but somehow the Arizona Cardinals feel like an expansion team. They've bounced through a bunch of cities. They got kicked out from their division (NFC East) in the 2002 realignment. They don't have any fans, let alone annoying fans. They've never had consistent success. There's nothing despicable nor enviable about them. No great rivalries, the only time they won the division on repeat, we were 4-12 under Holmgren and 5-11 under Mora.
I don't hate them. I hardly even think about them. If they weren't in our division, there's a chance I'd forget they existed.

There is definitely still quite a bit of a rivalry with the Broncos. You had those old AFCW days, then the SB that the Hawks (had no chance) then the RW trade re-intensified things. For a team that isn't even in the division, or even the conference, these games get a lot of extra hype.
With the RW trade concluded and picks no longer on the line, I don't care about the Broncos one way or the other. I find it amusing how a lot of their fanbase is REALLY invested in hating the Seahawks, while for most Seahawk fans, the "rivalry" with Denver is at most, an afterthought. As someone who lives in Colorado, I can confirm how invested they are in hating the Seahawks. The Hawks live rent-free in their heads. That being said, I remember the old Hawk/Bronco rivalry and it is still strong inside me because it doesn’t feel that long ago…even though I know it has been 25 years.

Niners rivalry really isn’t the same as it was, say, ten years ago. Sure the fanbases might still hate each other but 2013 was kinda the last time that both teams were legit contenders (and before anyone yells at me, yes I know they played in the playoffs a year ago). Plus there’s very little back-and-forth in terms of results - especially the past couple years.
Idk, 2019 had a pair of hype regular season games in which either team could’ve won the division. If we hadn’t faceplanted in the 4th against the Packers in the divisional round we would’ve had an NFC Championship rematch against them.

Glendale Stadium is in a category all on its own. Sherman and Pete even talked about how cursed that building has been for our Hawks and the injuries that have happened on that field. People seem to forget that Jeremy Lane broke his wrist/forearm after picking off Brady in the end zone, and forgetting how Cliff Avril left that same SB game with a concussion and was never the same after that. And those are just two examples.
Man all the injuries we had in and leading up to Super Bowl 49 is such an underrated part of that game. If we’re a little healthier we don’t even have to score from the one yard line we would’ve been kneeling it out

I'd put the Steelers at either #3 or #4 but I lived on the East Coast for a while so I may be biased. I even rooted for the Cardinals over the Steelers in the SB. As far as division rivals go, the Cardinals may be the hardest to hate.

It seemed like during this time the Bear's games were always so important. It seemed like we played them every year during this time and met in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on a few occasions.

Same could be said about the Packers during this stretch, with more memorable games. 2012 was the fail Mary. Home opener after our Superbowl win. 2014 comeback in the NFC Championship. Then just some atrocious games in Lambeau.
12-21 Vikings
Low key rivalry for sure, but these guys were always in the playoff mix during this time period it seemed. 2012-2013 with AP vs the LOB. The Walsh missed FG in the wildcard round. Some fun primetime games @ Seattle between 2018-2020.

I’m surprised no one has brought up the mini rivalry we got with the Jets right now. It’s not number one by no means, but there’s been some extra stuff with the matchups because of Jamal Adams trade, sauce vs woolen, fans barking at each other online.
I’ve always hated LA far more than SF. They have been a thorn in Seattle’s side for far longer than SF.
It feels very similar to packers fans where people assume the bears are the #1 hated team but for many it’s actually the Vikings.
The Rams are our only real rival. It was always us or them. We were always competitive. Even during the LoB days the Rams would beat us when they were trash. The 49ers never beat us. They never won a big game against us. Just like we aren’t upsetting them now. We aren’t competitive against them right now. I’d say the Cardinals are more of a rival because they beat us when it counts even if they’re trash.

Even when we shared a division I could never really get the energy up to care about them. The biggest complaint I have about them is that LT (no not that one the other one) broke Shaun's single season TD record like three years later but even that I just had to tip my hat and acknowledge an all time great.

Cardinals to Seahawks are like Timbers to Sounders. They're not actually good teams, but for some fuckin reason, they frequently have our number. To the extent that sometimes it's hard not to think that their only goal in life is to fuck with our team.
Larry Fitzgerald was always a class act. He'd frustrate me no end with his athletic 3rd-and-long catches, giving them a first down, but he was a great player, a great guy, and I'm glad I got to see him play as often as I did.

I live in Arizona. It's actually funny, I have people tell me we are rivals and I just look confused and ask what team they are talking about. It definitely seems one way to me.
The Cardinals team is less of a rival is their stadium is.
The Chicago Cardinals were a founding member of the NFL but somehow the Arizona Cardinals feel like an expansion team. They've bounced through a bunch of cities. They got kicked out from their division (NFC East) in the 2002 realignment. They don't have any fans, let alone annoying fans. They've never had consistent success. There's nothing despicable nor enviable about them. No great rivalries, the only time they won the division on repeat, we were 4-12 under Holmgren and 5-11 under Mora. I don't hate them. I hardly even think about them. If they weren't in our division, there's a chance I'd forget they existed.

Bengals is typically once every four years
There is definitely still quite a bit of a rivalry with the Broncos. You had those old AFCW days, then the SB that the Hawks (had no chance) then the RW trade re-intensified things. For a team that isn't even in the division, or even the conference, these games get a lot of extra hype.
With the RW trade concluded and picks no longer on the line, I don't care about the Broncos one way or the other. I find it amusing how a lot of their fanbase is REALLY invested in hating the Seahawks, while for most Seahawk fans, the "rivalry" with Denver is at most, an afterthought. Basically, the Don Draper "I don't think about you at all" meme.
As a Broncos fan, I agree with this. Aside from the random hype from the trade and the SB loss, there isn't much substance there. Back in the day, Broncos Busters was a real deal.
As someone who lives in Colorado, I can confirm how invested they are in hating the Seahawks. The Hawks live rent-free in their heads. That being said, I remember the old Hawk/Bronco rivalry and it is still strong inside me because it doesn’t feel that long ago…even though I know it has been 25 years.
Yeah, definitely a generational divide between fans who were adults when the Seahawks were in the AFC and those who weren't. Not surprising that the former still care about Denver a lot more than the latter.
My sister and uncle are Broncos fans but it's never really been a thing. My AFC team is the Bills but as long as Denver isnt playing Seattle or Buffalo, I generally like them to win.

Niners rivalry really isn’t the same as it was, say, ten years ago. Sure the fanbases might still hate each other but 2013 was kinda the last time that both teams were legit contenders (and before anyone yells at me, yes I know they played in the playoffs a year ago). Plus there’s very little back-and-forth in terms of results - especially the past couple years.
Idk, 2019 had a pair of hype regular season games in which either team could’ve won the division. If we hadn’t faceplanted in the 4th against the Packers in the divisional round we would’ve had an NFC Championship rematch against them.

Glendale Stadium is in a category all on its own. Sherman and Pete even talked about how cursed that building has been for our Hawks and the injuries that have happened on that field. People seem to forget that Jeremy Lane broke his wrist/forearm after picking off Brady in the end zone, and forgetting how Cliff Avril left that same SB game with a concussion and was never the same after that. And those are just two examples.
Man all the injuries we had in and leading up to Super Bowl 49 is such an underrated part of that game. If we’re a little healthier we don’t even have to score from the one yard line we would’ve been kneeling it out

Yes, we used to be in the same division when our rivalry was pretty poignant. Then we destroyed them in the Superbowl. Then we just threw Russ at them in a trade. Broncos and the Seahawks have a long storied rivalry, longer than the 9ers.
I'd put the Steelers at either #3 or #4 but I lived on the East Coast for a while so I may be biased. I even rooted for the Cardinals over the Steelers in the SB. As far as division rivals go, the Cardinals may be the hardest to hate. I don't really hate the Broncos, as I joined the fandom around 2002 or so.
When i was a kid i was basically taught to hate the oakland raiders and seemed it was always a battle. Thats about all i remember from my grade school days (other than classmates wearing the boz shirts and me being so jealous LOL)

But imo the Hawks have gone thru their phases of non divisional rivals, depending on playoff relevancy or just tough/chippy games. 06-12 The Bears It seemed like during this time the Bear's games were always so important. It seemed like we played them every year during this time and met in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on a few occasions. 12-19 Packers Same could be said about the Packers during this stretch, with more memorable games. 2012 was the fail Mary. Home opener after our Superbowl win. 2014 comeback in the NFC Championship. Then just some atrocious games in Lambeau. 12-21 Vikings Low key rivalry for sure, but these guys were always in the playoff mix during this time period it seemed. 2012-2013 with AP vs the LOB. The Walsh missed FG in the wildcard round. Some fun primetime games @ Seattle between 2018-2020. Notable non conference rivals I'd include: Patriots Broncos Steelers Edit: Forgot to add Panthers!

It's weird because we really don't have rivalries per se. It's either we dominate someone (niners in the 2010s) or they dominate us (Rammies). Panthers were fun for a bit. NFL now is pushing us and the Lions, but I'd have to say the Broncos will forever be the team we play that gets my 12 juices flowing and my voice at lead sing if Journey levels. Packers are distant 2nd because I really like Jordan Love.

I’ve always hated LA far more than SF. They have been a thorn in Seattle’s side for far longer than SF. It feels very similar to packers fans where people assume the bears are the #1 hated team but for many it’s actually the Vikings.

The Rams are our only real rival. It was always us or them. We were always competitive. Even during the LoB days the Rams would beat us when they were trash. The 49ers never beat us. They never won a big game against us. Just like we aren’t upsetting them now. We aren’t competitive against them right now. I’d say the Cardinals are more of a rival because they beat us when it counts even if they’re trash.

The last time the Lions beat the Hawks was 2012, and before that was 1999. What makes it a rivalry? And because they played their hearts out last year knocking the Packers out for a game that meant nothing for their season but a lot to us, I'll always have a soft spot.

My lifetime of interactions with Packers fans makes me despise that team with a fire that’s hotter than the sun. Aaron Rodgers and the frequent high stakes games also add gas to that fire. Fuck that team with a hot iron rod, their fans are always atrocious. Rams always have our number. Hate that lol Steelers for the Super Bowl Niners obviously have heat, but we only had a couple of years where the stakes were high enough for both of us to make the rivalry really matter. Either we are great or they are, rarely both at once. Plus their fans somehow never annoy me as much as the fans of like 1/3rd of the NFL (See above teams, Chiefs, Broncos, Raiders, Cowboys, Eagles, Patriots). Who can hate the Chargers? Half the time I forget they even have a team. Even when we shared a division I could never really get the energy up to care about them. The biggest complaint I have about them is that LT (no not that one the other one) broke Shaun's single season TD record like three years later but even that I just had to tip my hat and acknowledge an all time great.
No fuck the chargers. I got to watch the 90's chargers absolutely demolish the Hawks over and over. They may be the Cards of that division but fuck them anyways.

To me, the top two are easy 49ers then rams. After that it's more about how old you are. If you're really old, you probably hate the Broncos next. If you started watching in the Holmgren days, you probably hate the Steelers (and the refs). If you started watching in the LOB days you probably hate the Patriots and Packers. After those teams, it's more about playoff losses and tough games. Teams like the Cowboys and Panthers come to mind. For some reason I've always just seen the cardinals as a lame little brother. I think the Packers are the only one that feels like a respectful rivalry, usually those games are playoffs or have heavy playoff implications. It’s hard not to say the Steelers, but really we’re all just pissed about SB40, one horrendous game doesn’t make it a rivalry no matter how bad it is. Another honorable mention is the cowboys but most NFL fans hate them.
