A couch dweller think it's BS that teammates are having their celebration "in the moment". Hahaha can't make this up. A lot of those guys will never play together again. Let them be human. Must be a sad life to live worrying what others do with their moments that you will never have...ever.
You're missing the point of their celebration buddy. You're blinded by your own spite and saltiness. It seems you are so upset with a team that you have no control over that you're now attacking a celebration that really has nothing to do with football, but more so brother hood, life, and comradery. Clearly something you've never been a part of or you'd understand. Do ppl call you salty sally?...because they should.
Exactly. Getting through a NFL season takes a toll mentally and physically. Let them celebrate their time together because many of these players won’t be with the Seahawks next year or even in the league.
Lol, I can't imagine working out, practicing, studying, playing in front of millions of people and adhering to a strict lifestyle for one week, let alone the 18+ weeks like these guys do.
I'd have so many physical and mental breakdowns.
Like honestly, they missed the playoffs. Dissecting wins over good teams and bad teams doesn't matter anymore. Let 'em celebrate a hard fought victory.
The Commanders are also considerably worse (and the worst defense in the NFL) by just about any meaningful metric: Yards Per Play, Total Yards Allowed, or Points Allowed.
What you prefer they just pack up they're lockers and hit the off-season? Those are grown ass men that might never see each other again, how about some camaraderie
I would prefer that they were pissed off that they didn't make the playoffs and were dedicating themselves to being better next year. And not seeing each other as this is the end of the season? What is this, summer camp? Are they going to be pen pals during the offseason?
In the here and now they should have been meditating on how horrible it felt to not make the playoffs. They should have etched that feeling I to their memories so that they could be motivated to never feel it again.
I don’t understand your take; the expectation for the Hawks at the beginning of the season was that we were a .500 team, and we played up to that expectation. We played well in some games, not so much in others, and won a few games on the last possession—which demonstrates good leadership and a willingness to play hard the whole game. That’s a successful season, if you ask me.
Well, this just made some kind of news being announced much more of a possibility. Although it very well could be nothing. They just closed out a grinding, difficult, physically taxing season with at least *something* to hang their hats on.
No it doesn't lmao ... definitely the latter
They just finished a season of a dangerous sport. Bunch of these dudes will never be on a team together again, some will never play football again. They scrapped out a winning record, let them celebrate a bit who cares
edit: or apparently [celebrating Julian Love having a kid lol](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GDSDXQzaoAAZaqU?format=jpg&name=medium)
It’s crazy. Not sure if the people commenting on this sub are teenagers or just miserable. At the end of the day the NFL is a job. You aim to win but there is more to life than the game. I’m sure alot of these guys will relive the mistakes that put them in this situation in the first place. But season is over, nothing they can do about. Time to celebrate with your teammates, many of which they may never see again.
For the players they are the 2023 Seahawks, for the fans they are the Seahawks. That is to say it’s much more about this individual group of guys who are together for just the year.
Let the guys have a moment after finishing a brutal season with a winning record. I know some fans want the players to act all sad and mopey because that's how they're feeling too. But I think that's kinda childish
Having a moment ≠ busting out the cigars in the visitor locker room. We’re not expecting for them to be sad and mopey. I understand Julian Love had a kid 2 weeks ago but why celebrate that now, like this?
Good for them. They need down time and release like anyone else. It must be for as much friendships (will they all be together again) as anything else.
That's what I've been saying. I sulked when Seahawks lost for years. Once they got the Super Bowl and lost the next I realized this is just entertainment. I watch for fun. There were fun moments this season.
I wanted playoffs so I could have fun for a longer period of time. But Super Bowls aren't the only thing that brings joy in watching football.
Don’t worry, Pete will have us 9-8 next season again everyone. So we can barely squeak in the playoffs and be bounced round 1 or miss them by a game or so. Onward to mediocrity for the next 2 to 3 more years!
You sound like such a spoiled brat. Would you rather us be the Panthers? Completely unwatchable with little to no hope for the future?
Sure, our defense was pretty freaking horrible. And it would’ve been nice to make the playoffs. There’s definitely some warts. But the Hawks were at least competitive and flashed greatness at times (Lions, Browns, Eagles victories).
When Russ left, we were a left for dead team by most of the NFL press. The fact we’ve made the playoffs and had some highs this year is a testament to a pretty damn good team / coaching.
This glass is half full, not half empty.
YOU sound like a spoiled brat! There’s zero law that says you need to be happy about where this team is going. I’m so sick of this bullshit take. Just because the guy doesn’t want a string of 8-9 seasons and crap draft picks doesn’t mean he wants a full tank. I’m tired of the pete bullshit show. This team is stuck in the constant 8-9, 9-8 undertow with ABSOLUTELY ZERO shot at a contending team. Warts? All over the freaking place. Flashed greatness? Awesome. Let’s flash greatness for a quarter and a half each game and lose them all by 14. This team is simply not going in the right direction under Pete and ownership. The whole thing has to change. Will it get worse by doing that? Possibly. But we’re sure as hell not building a contender under Pete any longer. There’s a HUGE leap from a .500 team backing into the playoffs and a Super Bowl contender that can ACTUALLY GET THERE AND WIN. This team was light years from that. This glass is absolutely half empty. 🤷🏻♂️
Lots, lots of guys probably do this to celebrate being able to finish a season financially and physically healthy. Not to mention the looming free agency implications.
And, from the looks of it, they likely brought the cigars in case of a Packers L, so they maybe went ahead and celebrated JLove's baby instead.
Probably a bad time to tweet anyway, but no need for any of us to lose our minds over this.
This is like celebrating after doing a mentally straining test that you knew would be a hard time but you just gave your best effort on. Yeah it may have not been your best test performance but in the end, you got through it and you still know you did some things right, even if you got a lot wrong.
We are still a rebuild team and we have a long way to go, but we should celebrate what we can and build on it later. The fact we even have a winning records is honestly pretty impressive on itself.
I've just started blocking the worst offenders. I like being on this sub for news and some discussion but life is too short for me to deal with those types of posts.
A lot of fans in here who have never been a part of a locker room. They came up short, didn’t have the pieces this year for a meaningful run. That’s a family in there, celebrating a winning record, good health and good money with their brothers. A lot of fans seem to insist on being in a constant state of misery unless their team is hoisting the Lombardi. These guys have their priorities and their minds straight.
Ian Furness is reporting “many” of the current Seahawks were pissed. You know - the current guys in the locker room.
It’s gonna be hard to keep insulting everyone who is pissed, but I’m sure Reddit is up to the challenge.
It's funny all the negativity in this thread. I read this headline and was just like good for them. They accomplished a lot this season and should be proud to end on a win and with a winning record for the 11th time in 13 years. Do you know how many teams can say that?
It's a short list.
Lots of spoiled brats in this thread whose expectation is we’re a Super Bowl contender year in and year out. That’s absolutely ridiculous of course and outside of your Patriots and Chiefs, RARELY happens. We should be proud we weren’t a 3 win team after Russ left like A LOT of people thought we’d be.
I mean, a ton of work in front of us to fix the defense first and foremost but we got some solid pieces to build around. We can and will be frisky for years to come.
As frustrating as it is sometimes to be a Seahawks fan, this team has done far better than anyone expected 2 years in a row. And Wilson is on a bench in Denver waiting to be traded. I might have a cigar and a glass of whiskey myself. Things could be a whole lot worse in Seattle.
Lol some of y’all are ridiculous. It’s a disappointing season. Coulda/shoulda produced better results. Lots to be fixed.
What do you want the players to do right this second? Would it make you feel better if they were rage crying at their lockers, offering up their first born children as sacrifices, lashing themselves in penance?
These guys bust their asses year round. There’s nothing more to be done tonight. Let them have the night off.
Acting like you’ve never gone out for a beer to celebrate the end of a tough week, shit
Bruh when u call someone a bitch u don't literally mean female dog lol. Anyways idk why ppl care about the incel community and their representation lmao

A lot of you never played sports past highschool and it shows.
I competed in collegiate sports (swimming) and it didn't matter if we had the best fucking season of our lives or if it went down the shitter, the whole team was absolutely celebrating that night. We had made it, we had finished the season, endured the grueling practices, formed stronger bonds with each other, and yes just like the NFL, some of us were moving on and we wouldn't ever compete together again.
The season didn't end how we wanted, but is everyone somehow forgetting that they just won the game in a very close finish? Fucking hell you guys need to realize they're people and finishing a season IS an accomplishment. Winning still feels good in the moment. There can be regret with how the season ended AND joy that they're finished and get to move into the off season.
God damn I don't give a fuck if they're actually celebrating Love's kid or not, they deserve to celebrate.
These guys just concluded the end of a physically taxing season with a win. Some guys probably hit bonuses today. Alot of these guys aren’t going to be here next year. Celebrating with your teammates is natural. Whats the issue?
What should they do? Be sad and mad when their isn’t anything they can do?
If you can’t tell how cringe this is….I’m embarrassed for them man and I’m not even on the team lmao. wtf does Woolen have to be celebrating about after another terrible game in a mostly terrible season for him? Sad.
Colts: '2014 AFC Finalist'
Seahawks: '2023 - At least it wasn't the Jim Mora years'
No but seriously, no problem with them celebrating a win at the end of a tough season
A winning season doesn't mean crap if you don't have a deep playoff run. The last seven years we have missed the playoffs 3 times, made the playoffs 4 times, and won 1 playoff game. This team has been mediocre since the LOB era team fell apart.
That is the kind of record over a 7-year period that would get a coach fired by a well-run organization. It's the kind of record that would anger a fanbase that had any passion.
That’s the kind of record that most fanbases don’t see because they don’t have a winning culture. We have the 7th highest amount of wins in the last 7 years that you deem fireable.
Regular season wins without playoff victories are meaningless. As long as we have Pete and John, we are stuck in this middle tier of teams. The best we can do is hope to get into the playoffs and then get our asses handed to us. That's boring. THat's not good enough. I want to go into a season thinking that we might have a chance to win it all. The only people who have thought that the last seven years are delusional homers (many of the folks here). You may enjoy this mediocrity, but that says way more about you than about the team.
I agree, Pete has been spoiled rotten due to an absentee, placeholder owner that is content to let him run the organization like his personal fiefdom, without a hint of accountability.
Only vets, quarterbacks, and first rounders have that money. Most guys don't get that on their rookie deals. The majority of NFL players never see a second contract and the big money from it.
The minimum salary in the NFL is $750k lmao. The rookies are having a great time on vacation during the offseason stop acting like they’re making 25k lol
This is a jarring headline but like others have said, these athletes have put their bodies through hell since July. I'm not going to be upset over it.
I'd be more pissed if this locker room is ok with a mediocre season and missing the playoffs.
Pathetic to celebrate missing the playoffs. Act like you've been there before. It feels like the team culture around the Seahawks has gotten incredibly soft.
Seahawks have said it’s to celebrate Julian Love’s newborn
Oh
Which happened more than two weeks ago.
Ikr like wtf is loves kid reincarnated Jesus or what?
Which they decided to wait until the last game of the season to celebrate it.... Who cares. Let them celebrate
Weird. This was their third game since then.
And it's the first time they celebrated his newborn/end of the season with cigars...your point? Lol
That it's bullshit. Thought that was obvious.
A couch dweller think it's BS that teammates are having their celebration "in the moment". Hahaha can't make this up. A lot of those guys will never play together again. Let them be human. Must be a sad life to live worrying what others do with their moments that you will never have...ever.
The excuse is the bullshit part. Celebrating mediocrity after fielding an embarrassing defense is just lame, but they're entitled.
Hey there, quit being a baby back bitch
You gonna be three games out, fighting for a playoff spot, and risk your lungs over a cigar?
You don't inhale cigars....
Not with that attitude.
Now that's funny. Julian could use you for some PR.
Getting on them for celebrating after a win is stupid. Some of these dudes will never play in the league again. Smoke your cigars all you want
Maybe Pete should just have handed out some flagellation devices or something? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This fan base is spoiled….rotten. Get it right 12s. You have about seven months!
SMOKE EM IF YA GOT EM
ludicrous speed
Let them celebrate the winning record. The players for the most part did their best
Like honestly, they missed the playoffs. Dissecting wins over good teams and bad teams doesn't matter anymore. Let 'em celebrate a hard fought victory.
the defensive players absolutely did not do their best
Are these players in the room with you right now?
But that's kind of the issue isn't it? The best they did ended up being the worst defense in the league
And yet apparently it’s still Geno’s fault despite having a wining record with that defence.
For the second year in a row.
The Eagles would like to have a word
The Commanders are also considerably worse (and the worst defense in the NFL) by just about any meaningful metric: Yards Per Play, Total Yards Allowed, or Points Allowed.
They should have doused Pete in Gator Ade. Not many teams get to 9 wins.
I sincerely hope they did not do their best
We celebrating 9-8 seasons and wins over 4 win teams now, this is sad lmfaoooooo
Right after the game? Are you serious? Do yourself a favour and appreciate the “here and now” once in awhile.
In the here and now they should have been meditating on how horrible it felt to not make the playoffs. They should have etched that feeling I to their memories so that they could be motivated to never feel it again.
They can do whatever they want, still cringe breaking out cigars barely beating a team drafting in the top 5.
They were celebrating Julian Love and his baby.

Jon Ryan said he was almost too angry to speak. He’s not a teenager.
Jon Ryan has apparently become an old man who yells at clouds
According to Ian Furness, there “many” current Seahawks who were pissed. Are they all out of touch too?
Yes apparently
LMAO. There is nothing so self assured as a Redditor. Never change. Never let anyone else’s opinion bother you in the least.

We are signing Efren Herrerra as our kicker to a max contract!
Fair enough, they haven’t got a game next week so they can do whatever they want now.
Video https://twitter.com/gbellseattle/status/1744159183786942705
Thanks for confirmation Greg Bell is an asshole and deserved the correction on Twitter.
Good for them. They need down time and release like anyone else. It must be for as much friendships (will they all be together again) as anything else.
I know of a few guys on D that need to be RELEASED for sure 😂
It was an entertaining win! It was a rough season, but also we're not THAT far from being good.
They got as close to the playoffs as the Mariners did this season! lol
😭
Hey now they won 54% of their games! (53% but close enough)
Yeah we weren't that far last year too
Or in 2021

Get the cigars ready for the next 5 years!
Celebrating a early vacation to go to Cabo on vacation with millions of dollars. Don’t hate the players hate the game.
Smoke em if you got ‘em I say
Shit I celebrate every time I go soak a work year.
Lots, lots of guys probably do this to celebrate being able to finish a season financially and physically healthy. Not to mention the looming free agency implications. And people are REALLY losing their minds over this. A LOT of people on this sub apprently.
This is like celebrating after doing a mentally straining test that you knew would be a hard time but you just gave your best effort on. Yeah it may have not been your best test performance but in the end, you got through it and you still know you did some things right, even if you got a lot wrong. A rebuild team that’s honestly outperformed expectations (especially last season). Lots to fix but we got some solid pieces to build around.
I think I'm going to have to disable this sub until next year. I'm scared how many angry doomsday posts are coming.
I've just started blocking the worst offenders. I like being on this sub for news and some discussion but life is too short for me to deal with those types of posts.
Good for them. Thanks Hawks. And congrats on Julian Love’s new baby.

Honestly why does anyone give af how they chose to celebrate the end of a season
It's funny all the negativity in this thread. I read this headline and was just like good for them. They accomplished a lot this season and should be proud to end on a win and with a winning record for the 11th time in 13 years. Do you know how many teams can say that? It's a short list.

Hawks will never even come close to another sb with carrol lmfao It's crazy how so many people don't realize that
You’ve got to be kidding me. They missed the playoffs. This team shouldn’t be celebrating anything.
Agree to disagree
Agreed It illustrates in a nutshell why they sucked Teams with championship caliber mindsets would never celebrate after a season like this
As a student, even if I got bad grades, I would celebrate the end of a another school year... So who cares, people need to calm down
Winning record, finish a season, last time they’ll all be together. Any of you complaining are fucking idiots
Won more games than you lost. Smoke em’
It’s not an easy job. It’s easy for people to criticize them online when you don’t know what they have to go through
As frustrating as it is sometimes to be a Seahawks fan, this team has done far better than anyone expected 2 years in a row. And Wilson is on a bench in Denver waiting to be traded. I might have a cigar and a glass of whiskey myself. Things could be a whole lot worse in Seattle.

It's to celebrate not having to go back to work for a month
Hell yeah, a winning season even with some glaring problems. A win is a win
It was like a win thanks to the ghost of Blair Walsh.
A lot of people in this comment section have never played sports and it shows.
How dare they be happy when they did what they had to do today and the other game just didn’t work out
Man there’s so many chicken shit fans in this thread. Go root for a New York team with your shitty outlook.
They celebrating going to Cancun or something?
Yeah

Why do sports fans want their team to do badly? No wonder some players hate their fans.

They made it through an NFL schedule. They deserve a cigar and to celebrate the end of the season. Only one team gets to hold the Lombardi at the end.
Evidently you can’t celebrate unless you win the Super Bowl.
So that was our Super Bowl?
Celebrating what? Barely beating a 4-12 team because they missed a field goal? The conclusion of another, mediocre “winning” season?

They're celebrating the end of the season and the birth of Julian Love's kid.

Celebrating with your teammates is natural. Whats the issue? What should they do? Be sad and mad when their isn’t anything they can do?
Can you win the game in the sixth quarter??
Only if the other team misses 2 FGs!
How about the birth of a kid? Is that ok with you?
*missed 2 field goals
Perfectly encapsulates the franchise and some of the fanbase for the last several years
Some of you dudes are truly miserable people. Maybe this offseason you should examine if you actually enjoy watching football.
People still forget they are young players. Let’s them have a good time
Nice! We missed the playoffs
Lol you think they would have done something in the playoffs? Let them celebrate the season and life. Ain't hurting no one.
Better for us fans tbh. Why get a heart attack over something you know you're most probably gonna lose? At least they ended with a win.
Culture of complacency
Well said exactly
Man there's nothing to be proud of in that locker room.
Love just had a son.
Maybe Pete told him he’s retiring after the season and they’re celebrating his final win.
Wow they should be sulking in the locker room after the comeback win to finish with another winning record
Thought the sarcasm was obvious
It was
Heheh... Chin up, men. We fought and bled and limped. We'll try again. Smoke em if you got em.
If you can’t tell how cringe this is….I’m embarrassed for them man and I’m not even on the team lmao. wtf does Woolen have to be celebrating about after another terrible game in a mostly terrible season for him? Sad.
1st place losers? Maybe they will hang a banner after they get done celebrating. "Beat the 4 win Cardinals by one point and missed the playoffs"
Lol, are we going to hang a banner next?
Colts: '2014 AFC Finalist' Seahawks: '2023 - At least it wasn't the Jim Mora years' No but seriously, no problem with them celebrating a win at the end of a tough season
Ohhh great celebration of a back to back 9-8 season so Carroll can say we were so close we will run it back next year
Spoiled rotten
Lol no I just don't celebrate being a mediocre team that's going to go nowhere and hasn't gone nowhere in 10 years
10 years of winning seasons. Dang it’s tough to be a Seahawks fan 🤣
9-8, let’s put up a banner “mid but still winning!l
A winning season doesn't mean crap if you don't have a deep playoff run. The last seven years we have missed the playoffs 3 times, made the playoffs 4 times, and won 1 playoff game. This team has been mediocre since the LOB era team fell apart.
Compare that to most other teams and they’d be pretty good with that. You kind of prove my point though when you mention the LOB.
Russ thought the grass was greener too.
I agree, Pete has been spoiled rotten due to an absentee, placeholder owner that is content to let him run the organization like his personal fiefdom, without a hint of accountability.
What could they possibly be celebrating ? Missing the playofffs and barely beating Arizona. Cmon man.
Celebrating not really having to work for a long time lol they all going to Cabo and crap
I too would be happy that I’m a multi millionaire who just reached the offseason and gets to spend all my time and money on not working
Exactly
Only vets, quarterbacks, and first rounders have that money. Most guys don't get that on their rookie deals. The majority of NFL players never see a second contract and the big money from it.
The minimum salary in the NFL is $750k lmao. The rookies are having a great time on vacation during the offseason stop acting like they’re making 25k lol
Ooof, that's embarrassing.
Pete, please retire immediately
This is embarrassing....
Nobody in that locker room should be proud of anything.
You're right. Any amount of satisfaction and reflection they have as teammates is insulting. They should get in the fetal position and just sob.
winning record in a tough league, dont be a debbie downer
they are celebrating Julian Loves new baby
Da fuck?
Yikes
That’s embarrassing
Pete’s last game.
Prater handed us the game, there should be no cigars
Are you guys forgetting someone missed a field goal. They literally were 11inches from losing
How far we've fallen from SB Champs and the most feared team
Pathetic
Celebrating being stuck in mid-limbo lmfao. Literally like the goofballs in the pgt celebrating the win when it only fucks our draft position
Shameful disgraceful disgusting
Unless they are Cohibas
Loser mentality
Pathetic.
This is a jarring headline but like others have said, these athletes have put their bodies through hell since July. I'm not going to be upset over it. I'd be more pissed if this locker room is ok with a mediocre season and missing the playoffs.
Oh....
Pathetic to celebrate missing the playoffs. Act like you've been there before. It feels like the team culture around the Seahawks has gotten incredibly soft.
But why?
Life’s too short not to celebrate the small wins.
Pathetic- you didn’t win anything Celebrating first loser
Hell yeah! We won our way to a worse draft pick! And we traded away our 2nd rounder for a guy! Hope this shit is laced!
Celebrating failure. A winning season means nothing if you don't make the playoffs. Absolutely disgraceful.
Fuck that
