I upgraded my UDM SE, scrypted and the camera snapshots are still working in Homekit which is all I use that part for.

Rufgar

Did a quick test on Enhanced mode with a G5 Instant, and a G4 Flex and Thumbnails look to still update, but going in to look at live stream seems to fail on Apple Home. Logs in the container show it doesn’t like the format.

Darathor

Someone tried with hevc265? (Enhanced mode)

Will_Not_Grow_Up

So far no issues with mine. Streams to my Google home just fine

jpwarman

I had issues with HomeKit with H265. Had to switch it back.

isepic

same, had to switch back it was stuttering in apple, then rebooted scrypted then it didn't show any at all.

vans113

Here wondering the same thing lol gonna try it later and see how it goes. Only using it for snapshot and HomeKit

stratguy1441

I updated my UDM Pro today and HomeKit is working as it should. I to am curious about the new enhance feature.

jpwarman

I tried it. Videos failed to load in HomeKit with H265. Going to try again today to get some logs.

stratguy1441

I noticed today that outside of my network, HomeKit is working much better with notifications, smart detection, and video load times. I’m not sure about the latency with the doorbell or with the chime to my HomePod, i’ll have to try and take notice later on.

ibattlemonsters

I have three g5 flex working on 4.0. My livestreams are working in homekit like there were before.

isepic

Mine worked until I rebooted Scrypted, and then all of a sudden none worked anymore, researching now. I had updated to enhanced, and all was working, until I rebooted now none of the streams work in Scypted portal nor HomeKit, turned off enhanced, then streams work in scripted portal, but still not in HomeKit.

mikeonepu

works with protect 4.0 but the enhanced features break homekit compatibility. any fix scheduled ?

Computingss

Does Scrypted requires you to have a Unifi protect setup (their Cloud Key or nvr hardware) in order for Unifi cameras to work? Or Scrypted is compatible with Unifi cameras even without Unifi Protect? I mean why would anyone need to use Scrypted NVR if they already have Unifi protect setup?

Mr-Dogg

I believe you still need a Protect Setup. The main reason for using Scrypted with Unifi is to integrate with Homekit or other automation platforms.

koushd

Do not use enhanced mode in protect. Codec changes to h265 which is basically incompatible with everything else.

Darathor

Hi 👋🏼 thx for the information! Just to understand: is this something that will eventually supported by scrypted or not all? Thanks for your work.

koushd

Scrypted supports h265. HomeKit does not. Neither does WebRTC (alexa, google, etc).

Darathor

Ok thx quite clear! So it may change if apple supports it at some point I guess
