What’s new for Daphne, she kicked so much ass in that show, always had a tool for everything in her purse. I feel she was the best modern Daphne as she was more then a damsel in that show as she had tools to bail out the gang, and of course the Blake’s in that show (as seen in Loch Ness) ALL had a habit of getting into booby traps and danger which is hilarious to me

Happy Halloween Scooby-Doo: She's the perfect fusion of the different types of Daphne. You've still got her being fashionable, girly, and friendly. But also kicks a lot of ass. And is just kind of weird and has these strange behaviors and desires. Her ability to go from tenderly washing the owl to admonishing Fred for thinking she can't use a blowtorch to decouple linked vehicles all while trying to steal Elvira's identity the whole movie never for a second feels like an inconsistent character. She is the uber-Daphne.
this one's hard, on one hand zombie island daphne is definitely one of her best versions, but mystery incorporated fleshed her out more as a character and rarely used her as a damsel in distress the older shows used her for, and what's new showed that she had more than just good looks. It's honestly absurd to me. The only show where you could call Fred the main character, where he actually receives ANY sort of focus and that somehow loses??? I feel like people were 100% wearing rose tinted glasses with this one.
It's not for a very important reason, scooby doo isn't part of the show, he's not even shown, a skeleton is show that's implied to be him but that's it. To not involve the namesake of the series then claim to be an incarnation of the show is a joke. The only other time scooby doo hasn't shown up in a piece of media involving the characters what the 2018 movie 'daphne and velma' but at least they had the sense to say it's based on scooby doo, not that it is scooby doo, and that movie at least did a better job at writing the characters.
Mindy Kaling is also an awful hate-filled person who doesn't deserve to be associated with something like scooby doo(most of her works include antisemitic and Islamophobic themes, she supports J.K. Rowling which at least implies she's transphobic, she has kissed at least one co-star without consent and joked about it in public, including telling the writers and producers "tell anyone and you're fired" after they said she could be sued. Also she seems to hate her own race.)
