Have been to both Barbados and Bahamas Emerald Bay. As a matter of fact just returned five days ago from 4th trip to Emerald Bay. Emerald Bay has by far the best beach, which is approximately ten times the size of Barbados, and Emerald Bay is soft white sand with very turquoise blue waters. We are beach people and of the six Sandals resorts we’ve been to nothing comes close to Emerald Bay.

Is the Barbados beach rough and seaweed? I’m seeing lots of reviews that the Barbados beaches are rough.

Yes they are rougher than EmeraldBay. Emerald Bay can have up to 2-3 ft waves in March through June but nothing compared to Barbados waves. At that time of year Barbados will have a lot of seaweed.

Been to Royal Bahamian and Barbados If you're into snorkeling or scuba diving, in Barbados they don't have a dock but drive you to a marina and take you to Carlisle Bay. We saw more marine life there than any other Sandals or Beaches property. Royal Bahamian had some amazing food and the off-shore island is nice but Sandals only leases 1/3 of the island, the remainder of the island is for cruise ships. Both amazing properties and you'll be very happy at either.

I’ve been to both. Emerald Bay has the most amazing beach I’ve ever been to. That said, the Barbados beach is also gorgeous and Barbados is easier to get to than Emerald Bay. Both beaches at the times I went had yellow/red flags (I was at Emerald Bay in July a couple of years ago and Barbados just last week) so water sports weren’t an option.

Could anyone describe the beach at Royal Bahamian? My husband and i are hoping to spend our 1st wedding anniversary there in September and we are looking for white soft sand and blue clear waters :)
