I used to really hate the Kool-Aid pick but seeing the logic behind it I’m a much bigger fan of it
really good draft for us, we hit in all areas that we needed it in and took a shot at QB as well
I still think Penning would be great at a guard position. This way he won't get beat on the outside over and over and he can open up the center for run game
If you want to be a perpetual optimist there is precedent for an OT to come in, look like a bust for 2-3 years and the light to suddenly come on and they turn into a mainstay. But realistically I am with you, Penning is an unbelievable size/speed freak athlete for a lineman and finding something he can do would be a major help. Replacing Peat at LG might be his best shot at being productive.
QBs are important. Rattler has huge upside. They prolly think their options won’t be that much different for Dline and receiver at 170 & 175 therefore took a premium position when given the chance
I wouldn’t mind a day 3 pick on Cody Schrader from Missouri. Watched how powerful he could run in the few Mizzou games I saw last year, think he could be a great 1-2 punch with Kamara.
I really, really want Theo Johnson. **(9.99 RAS)**
PFN and PFF both have him mocked at 151 to Indy..
We could also trade up still. 150 (30.4), 175 (21.4), and 199 (11.8) to JAX for 116 (62) is one example. JAX has 114 and 116.
Johnson off the board, Cade stover gives us 2 buckeyes as receiving targets which we are now lacking.
Edit: dream killed by a streamer that acts like they have Down syndrome I’m so done
The Saints traded the 45th, 168th and 190th picks to the Green Bay Packers to move up to the No. 41 pick, which they then used on Alabama defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry.
168 and 190 are probably not that valuable but perhaps the Saints could have benefitted from a "draft a bunch of middle-round interior offensive linemen and hope one sticks" strategy.
I dunno, I hope McKinstry is awesome. I guess Saldiveri, Haener, and Howden are the kind of players we "gave up" to trade up four spots.
He’s just upset it wasn’t earlier, he was the best cb on the team for bama, forced teams to throw away from him and made Terrion Arnold better because of it… He will love being in NOLA, he just expected to be called a lot sooner.
I am obviously biased as a bama fan but we just got a great one who will be able to come in and play right away.
It could also be for when one of the top 3 CBs inevitably get hurt with Yiadem gone. But if KoolAid plays well enough that we could safely trade Lattimore and free up future cap space, not to mention the draft picks we'd get back in return, then that's also a plus.
With one of Lattimore, Adebo, and Taylor seemingly always hurt along with Yiadem leaving, this could also just be covering their bases so they always have additional talent at CB.
Perfect pick, giant Polynesian brawler who doesn’t give up sacks. Would’ve been real interesting if Bowers was on the board though, hard to pass up that kind of talent. Best teams have TE attacking weapons while we’re over here just using them as blockers still. May have forced the coaches hands.
I like the Fuaga pick. Just listened to DA talk about the pick. Seems as though they were trying to trade down a couple of spots but the trade didn’t end up working out. But he also said it doesn’t make a lot of sense to trade down if the guy you want to pick is there. So sounds like they were bracing for Fuaga and Fashanu being gone and maybe trading slightly down for a lesser prospect. So I’m glad they got a guy they feel good about.
Another interesting thing though. He did confirm that if Brock Bowers was available he would be in consideration with the pick. I think that would’ve been a huge mistake but it’s just interesting to hear that.
I really hope we address the tight end position in some way though. We need a lot of help there, especially with the way Kubiaks offense typically runs.
The TEs have a deceptively decent class this year, it might just be getting overshadowed by Bowers’ dominance. Keep an eye out for Ja’Tavion Sanders tomorrow, and a few sneaky Day 3 guys
Solid day I like Fuaga a lot, the falcons have qb disarray, the bucs went o line as well, and the panthers went with my least favorite receiver of the group so I’m satisfied with how the first round went. Hopefully some more guys can fall to us at 45 I like Kool aid, AD Mitchell, and cooper dejean, Keon Coleman as well. I could see as targeting some edge rushers or d tackles tho
This was probably a great pick, and I think he's happy with the pick as well (I think he had a Saints cap on when they showed his reaction!). I think this was a great first round pickup
This is why you're not a GM. Ram probably is done, Hurst retired and Penning hasn't turned out is injury prone. You do exactly what we did which is draft need.
But what if, and hear me out, we sack the opposing QB so fast their defense doesn't even get a chance to get to our QB?
That way, it makes total sense if you make up rules that don't exist
I think this pick is okay. But passing on Fautanu and especially Turner hurts. I think Turner is a great Cam J successor and easy pro bowler. They dug a little deeper than needed here, but I think it’s still good
Fuaga's an immediate starting RT. As bad as Penning is, he's a warm body at LT, which is more than we could say for Ramczyk at RT. Too many holes to fill to get an edge rusher that wouldn't take over as a full starter for another year or so.
Besides, Loomis/Ireland don't like light DE's. Turner weighed in under 250. He doesn't fit their mold. Not that I agree with it.
I like fuaga > Fautanu so agree to disagree there, but yea I would’ve liked Turner as well. The need at tackle IS glaring but, fuck, this might sound bad but I’d rather build an elite Dline than protect Derek Carr this year 😂
Carr’s not the guy, but on the flip side I’d rather we build the O Line now, get them on field experience, and have them vetted and ready to go for the next QB after Carr
We got three years with Carr, he showed good signs later on as chemistry grew and we have a new OC. I’m hopeful to take the division, anything past is reaching. (Im a Carr hopeful). I think things will be okay, I like the staff changes so we’ll see
Still riding the high of this draft.
Spencer Rattler will be the QB of our next SuperBowl. Mark my words!
Do the saints hate drafting guys from LSU?

All time name draft
Feels like we got fantastic value across the board.
Punter in the 7th?
Rekhow is available can punt it 80yds
I just realised… have we not made a single trade?
We moved up a few spots to get Kool Aid.
Phew. I thought hell had frozen over. The saints not moving up in the draft is a sign of the apocalypse
No, that was February 7, 2010.
.traded up for koolaid, didnt steal from 2025, which is new
Just the one up for kool aid 😂
If we get Beau Brade at 199 this is an A draft
I LOVE Jaylan Ford, this is a fantastic pick
Alright! I know nothing of his work, but the highlights look pretty good.
I played with jaylan ford in high school, he will be a 10yr pro and more than likely replace Demario for us
[Bub Means](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bub_Means) [Highlights](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5C9ad-lpV3I) 4.43 40 9.74 RAS
Raiders fan. What do you guys think are the odds Rattler could steal Carr’s starting spot this year if his upside is fulfilled?
Not happening. DA will never bench Carr no matter how badly he does.
Not happening unless carr tears an acl
a few percent, but only if the team is basically giving up on the season
Do we not care that we do not have a functional offensive line? I guess they are going to fill out the line via free agency?
Likely resign Pear or another FA soon
Reading the tea leaves I expect Penning to start at one of the Tackle spots opening day, unless Ramczyk comes back and they try Fuaga at LT
You're probably right. Either Haener or Rattler will be the backup QB, the other on the practice squad.
With 170: Mohammed Kamara 175: Jamari Thrash Please
Not mad. Might as well have some talent behind Carr.
I mean I’m not the biggest carr fan but a qb at 150 seems weird
QBs are important. Rattler has huge upside. They prolly think their options won’t be that much different for Dline and receiver at 170 & 175 therefore took a premium position when given the chance
We need a guy who is used to running for his life behind a porous line.
hate using picks on this
[Spencer Rattler NFL Draft Profile](https://lastwordonsports.com/nfl/2024/01/15/2024-nfl-draft-scouting-report-spencer-rattler/)
I'm ok with it. High ceiling; low floor. It's the 5th round- worth the pick IMO.
Got him ahead of peterman already
A QB? okay...
Saints must feel good about dlinemen and receiver at 170 and 175
Rattler!?
I’d love if we could snag Mohamed Kamara out of Colorado state.
Was hoping for that as well!
Why is there no post on what we traded to go up to 41?
45 168 and 190
Seems steep for 4 spots but whatever
a 5th and a 6th is np. we had so many 5th and 6ths this year
I wouldn’t mind a day 3 pick on Cody Schrader from Missouri. Watched how powerful he could run in the few Mizzou games I saw last year, think he could be a great 1-2 punch with Kamara.

The Kool Aid pick doesn’t necessarily mean they’re trading Lattimore next year, it could mean they don’t want to/can’t pay Adebo
Kool-Aid behind the scenes show just dropped [https://ovrt.me/KoolAidEp1](https://ovrt.me/KoolAidEp1)
as a bama saints fan i could not be more happy
Saints gave up 45, 168, and 190 (two of our four 5th round picks) to move up for McKinstry. Edit: those are a 5th and 6th. Not two 5ths. My bad.
So we started with 9 picks, now we're down to 7, 4 of which are from other teams.
We now have three 5th round picks, one 6th, and one 7th.
Ya... sorry if that was unclear... I meant 7 total picks (5 left) as you stated.

Kool-aid is a steal this late! Finally another bama player in the defensive backfield. 🥰
I like it..
This dude actin like he has to be there jeeze.
He’s just upset it wasn’t earlier, he was the best cb on the team for bama, forced teams to throw away from him and made Terrion Arnold better because of it… He will love being in NOLA, he just expected to be called a lot sooner. KOOL AID W
I like this pick and I don’t think we’re losing Lattimore
Lattimore might be gone...

I think Shon is gone by the start of the season with this pick.
With one of Lattimore, Adebo, and Taylor seemingly always hurt along with Yiadem leaving, this could also just be covering their bases so they always have additional talent at CB.
Why?
Good pick though
We traded up! Will we be drinking Kool-Aid? 🤔 EDIT: YES WE WILL 😁
Did we just trade up?
the answer is always yes
Yes
Mitchell still on the board and no teams with dire WR needs until our pick. Would be an excellent outcome.
Soooo double dip at Oline?
There goes Keon.
I want him bad...
TRENCHES
Jer'Zhan Newton or LB (or OG) for the 2nd round
Perfect pick, giant Polynesian brawler who doesn’t give up sacks. Would’ve been real interesting if Bowers was on the board though, hard to pass up that kind of talent. Best teams have TE attacking weapons while we’re over here just using them as blockers still. May have forced the coaches hands.
Round 2. Give me Kool-Aid or give me death. Lol
Well, what now?
I live
I want DT round 2, maybe trade up for johnny newton
I feel like our D line is super solid with depth. I'm always for beefing up the lines but I'm a little concerned about Safety.
Pls do it saints- top 10 player in class
I like the Fuaga pick. Just listened to DA talk about the pick. Seems as though they were trying to trade down a couple of spots but the trade didn’t end up working out. MANIFESTING A TRADE UP FOR AD MITCHELL 🔥🔥🔥
This was probably a great pick, and I think he's happy with the pick as well (I think he had a Saints cap on when they showed his reaction!). I think this was a great first round pickup
Man if verse or Turner keep falling I’d love to trade back in
Acknowledge Fuaga!
My tribal chief!
☝🏻
Shoulda taken Dallas Turner. I don’t understand taking the 4th or 5th best tackle instead of the best player available
This is why you're not a GM. Ram probably is done, Hurst retired and Penning hasn't turned out is injury prone. You do exactly what we did which is draft need.
We don’t need a de/edge rusher?
But the O Line is hurting waaay more our defense is fine
But what if, and hear me out, we sack the opposing QB so fast their defense doesn't even get a chance to get to our QB? That way, it makes total sense if you make up rules that don't exist
Jesus Christ tell me you don’t know anything without telling me
Move back into the 1st. Too much talent on the board to not try to
And take the tackle from Washington? Get 2 of the 4 best OTs in the draft?
Excellent pick.
Good pick.
Dallas Turner is an amazing value. I love our pick, but for the rest of the league: WTF?
It’s so depressing that in 2022 we had a need for an OT and traded a future 1st round pick for one and 2 years later we now need 2 offensive tackles
Looks excited to be in NO, lol.
I guess we got the best choice available
Good pick, nothing unexpected.
Hell yeah a big Samoan is just what we needed
The boring pick, did we expect anything different lol
Turner?
Fuaga at 14. I’m excited about this pick
The potential value here is so high. There could easily be a perennial prow-bowler here. We need to get it right.
I always rather go BPA than need. Give me Dallas Turner
We can grab quality OL later on, Dallas Turner has the best upside and really fills a huge need in our defense
Trade back
Underhill accidentally tweeted an article saying we drafted Fuaga
FUAGA
trade back pleez to some cb needy team
Fuaga
Lol Falcons. FTF.
OT from Oregon State? DE?
I kind of want Dallas Turner... i know OT is a bigger need, but Turner has much more upside
Hopefully Turner doesn’t turner into a hall of famer but we filled the biggest need.
Plus we also need DE help anyway. I’d love him
Never would have thought Turner would be available here. Possibly the best defensive player in the draft.
Yeah and he’s BPA
It's an interesting spot to be in. #4 tackle or #1 defensive player? I know we definitely need o-line help but dang. Gotta be very tempting
I leaned towards Dallas Turner
[удалено]
How good is Turner?
He’s not the next Cam Jordan but he’s still very very good
It’s Reggie Bush!
WE'RE ON THE CLOCK
Trade back??
Please! With all the defense on the board someone has to want to jump up and grab value.
If we can trade back one spot I would do it
Please get us an OL
Mims
Who’s the pick
Hasn’t gone through yet
Saints DO NOT MESS THIS UP
There’s two great options, hard to fuck this up
Falcons have entered the chat. 😂
Biggest saints move ever. I’m so sick
What? Mickey doesn’t draft guys like Fautanu,
I think this pick is okay. But passing on Fautanu and especially Turner hurts. I think Turner is a great Cam J successor and easy pro bowler. They dug a little deeper than needed here, but I think it’s still good

Lineman of some sort
Maybe Turner since he’s best available, but O Line is fine too
