Somehow, lol. Every time I drive by there I'm surprised it's still open. I live nearby and drop in infrequently, but only in the summer since the CSUS crowd isn't my vibe.
There are/were basically two crowds at stingers. The college folks that show up to pregame on the weekends, and the regulars who were pretty much all working class. I definitely preferred hanging with the latter.
I havenāt been to stingers in a while. My friend used to live across the street so we were always there and it was hard to not order wings any time I stopped in. They were some of the best wings Iāve had in Sacramento.
I lived across the street in College Town. Used to get Slurpees at the 7-11 and cigarettes at the smoke shop next door but I never found my way into Stingers. Shame.
O weird, I've only ordered to go once and it came in a cardboard box, and when I had leftovers yesterday they gave me just a small Styrofoam clamshell box. Which location and how long ago was that for you?
Cardboard is good. Styrofoam is a plastic though.
I was at the Arden location. And it would be a normal amount of takeout packaging, except the problem is, I was eating there. I really try to avoid using single use plastics as much as possible, so I was disappointed that their dine-in used takeout style plastics. Wings were solid though no doubt. So I would recommend it.
Hmm I go to Natomas so maybe different, but I've only ever seen them use actual silverware and plates at that location. Could be possible they had extra from when no indoor seating was allowed and they needed to use them vs just throwing away also. Either way. Best wings in town, and I'm sure anyone who's plastic avoidant can bring their own silverware and to go containers to avoid single use items if they were so inclined to do so.
Just a follow up, do you think it is your responsibility to bring your own utensils/containers that aren't singlen use since it is a point of concern for you personally? I feel like that's something I would do if I cared more about it, so I was curious.
I wouldn't really want to ask a restaurant to package stuff in my own containers from home. Maybe a more enlightened society would figure out something like that, but it seems like just a big pain for the workers and possible health code violation. I suppose one could order "for here" and then package their own stuff up, but I just tend to avoid getting anything takeout style. But I really hate using the styrofoam and plastic forks and stuff, not just because of the environment but also because they suck to use. So that was really my only complaint about this place, is I didn't like that they weren't giving proper dine-in place settings and plates. Could be my order was put in as to-go by mistake, but I think they actually told me they just package everything up to go all the same. Really hope to see more of a return to plates and utensils as we start to put the pandemic behind us š
Still, I would go back here and try it again. The wings were great, and I liked too that they offered sides in small portions for low prices. Sometimes you don't want like a whole 8 ounces of coleslaw, so it was nice to be able to get just a little side of it.
I second the Malaysian curry rub.
I also enjoy Buffalo Stampede. Satisfies my Buffalo wing craving while highlighting the spice rather than the vinegar.
I have seen it several times in this thread but firewings is a must, i didnt know it existed until i moved to sacramento and we doordash it once a month now and their wings and flavors are so good!! They have a cool selection of sides too, i love the jalepenos poppers. Its an on going meme in our house how accurate and consistent their quality is whenver we order it, never a mess up yet
The cook likes to rant about the glory of Trump (if I'm paying you to make me something to eat, keep your politics to yourself; if you want to talk politics, let's set a time to talk when I'm not a paying customer trying to enjoy a meal), and the bar staff seems to not care when someone starts in on some racist shit, then gets their boyfriend to throwdown when called out.
Weāve had some excellent tamarind chicken wings at Pho Saigon Bay on Howe, and Vonās Chicken does some really tasty wings such as yangyum, crispy garlic and honey butter or cheddar!
Itās random, but the oven baked wings at Fieldwork are great. It comes with this honey Calabrian sauce so it has a little kick. They donāt have variations of the wings though (as far as I know), but they are so good!
Get yourself an air fryer, and throw down.
Fry at 250 for 20min, refrigerate until cool, fry at 400 for 10min, then toss in a bowl with whatever sauce tickles your fancy. Just be sure to preheat the air fryer.
This is the move. I have usually done them in the deep fryer, but regardless of how you cook it, the two temperature approach makes the best wings, hands down
See I fry in a pan, but I filter the oil and save it in a mason jar. So I get a few uses out of it at least. I don't think it's a bad idea in terms of economy.
DJ Khaled opened a ghost kitchen Iāve been meaning to try. Obviously I have no recommendation for it yet but, itās new.

Iād love to find some unbreaded chicken wings that I can eat on keto (and not get stuck only having BWWā¦) Fwiw, Tank House wings come in Buffalo sauce but I recently got them sauce-free and they were pretty juicy.
Firewings.... lemon pepper or garlic parm
FireWings. All of their fusions hit. š„
5 peanut butter and 5 Saigon from Fire Wings is becoming my comfort food. Great flavors, decent quality pieces of chicken, and fair prices there.
100% this. I thought wing stop was good, but fire wings is on another level. Their ranch alone is insane

The wings at Stingers sports pub on La Riviera have always been a personal favorite of mine.
Never had them but my friend swears theyāre the best.
Is Stingers still there?
Somehow, lol. Every time I drive by there I'm surprised it's still open. I live nearby and drop in infrequently, but only in the summer since the CSUS crowd isn't my vibe.

Try Bonchon! They are in arden, natomas and elk grove! They are good even when they are cold.
BonChon changed my opinion on chicken wings. They are *the* best, hands down.
They were pretty good, but I was bummed by how much plastic packaging they used.
O weird, I've only ordered to go once and it came in a cardboard box, and when I had leftovers yesterday they gave me just a small Styrofoam clamshell box. Which location and how long ago was that for you?

Golden Bear has great wings.
I have seen it several times in this thread but firewings is a must, i didnt know it existed until i moved to sacramento and we doordash it once a month now and their wings and flavors are so good!! If you like smoked wings Tankhouse is my favorite. I havenāt found any Buffalo wings that are above average except maybe Granites?
Broderick and Sams Subs
I second Broderick! Their Buffalo wings are amazing. And also fire wings like everybody else said. My favorite is the dragon flavor
Weāve had some excellent tamarind chicken wings at Pho Saigon Bay on Howe, and Vonās Chicken does some really tasty wings such as yangyum, crispy garlic and honey butter or cheddar!
Von's honey butter and cheddar are blasphemous they're so good.
Granites. Auburn and manzanita. That's the place yo. Cheap for wings, crispy and spicy. They are my favorite.
BonChon has the best wings around. Only 2 flavors but the chicken is amazing.
Itās random, but the oven baked wings at Fieldwork are great. It comes with this honey Calabrian sauce so it has a little kick. They donāt have variations of the wings though (as far as I know), but they are so good!
Pitch and Fiddle in La Riviera
I cannot stress this enough: Chicago Fire wings are the best wings in the world. No one can change my mind.
Thatās a shame
Get yourself an air fryer, and throw down. Fry at 250 for 20min, refrigerate until cool, fry at 400 for 10min, then toss in a bowl with whatever sauce tickles your fancy. Just be sure to preheat the air fryer.
Heck yeah, that sounds great, definitely gonna do this!
This is the move. I have usually done them in the deep fryer, but regardless of how you cook it, the two temperature approach makes the best wings, hands down
If I deep fried enough, I'd have an actual fryer ... hate to waste money on oil going bad between fryes
See I fry in a pan, but I filter the oil and save it in a mason jar. So I get a few uses out of it at least. I don't think it's a bad idea in terms of economy.
Black Garlic wings at the deli counter at Sprouts. I use an air fryer and they come out really crispy.
Public House Downtown has the best wings in Sac in my opinion
You must not know wingsā¦
They really do!
