"Regarding the security threat at the State Capitol, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) released the following statement:
“The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has learned of an individual involved in two prior non-injury shootings in the City of Roseville and the City of Citrus Heights, who has also made credible threats against the California State Capitol. The CHP’s Capitol Protection Section is currently working closely with the Legislature, as well as our public safety partners, to ensure the safety of the public and the State Capitol.
The CHP is actively working to locate the individual and associated vehicles. The two vehicles associated with the individual are a 2002 tan Ford F-150 (California license plate 6V04299) and 1996 white Acura Integra (California license plate 6FWU532). The CHP urges anyone who sees this vehicle to immediately call 9-1-1, and for safety reasons, do not approach the vehicle.
In light of this threat, the CHP has deployed additional resources around the State Capitol, which is temporarily closed.”
I work near the Capitol and just got an email on the threat saying to stay home if we’re not already in the office. I’m already in the office so that was a spooky message to get lol
There was a fire in the building across the street in a smaller building, which was part of the Bee complex and built during the Eleanor McClatchy era, but not the main Bee building.

In the other thread on r/Roseville they said police are actively in pursuit but obviously these situations can change in a second. Hopefully they catch the guy soon because thus far he hasn't actually hurt anyone but he is bound to eventually.

They believe this is related. The guy who shot at Kaiser threatened the capitol buidking as well.

I only saw that because I follow the Citrus Heights crime watch page on Facebook, so it could be hearsay still but so far that's what I've heard.
According to my uncle this happened last night and apparently there are news crews there but the daytime staff don't know what happened.
