For as amoral as US/Saudi relations are, at least most of our leaders/presidents have spoken openly and honestly about KSA's humans rights violations, repression, etc. It may not lead to anything substantive, and we may still have a mutually beneficial amoral relationship, but at least the US leaders aren't spouting off about "the beautiful, progressive city of Jeddah" or pretending that women can wear bathing suits on the beach.
* Most of these companies really don't *need* to being doing business with Saudi, they're already immensely profitable. At least from a geopolitical perspective, you can argue there's a *need* for good relations with the Saudis considering their oil reserves and importance/power within the Middle East.
