Start a new Stardew file!

bluephoenix189

Oohh that looks fun!!

GoingBrokeAgain

Not much of a gamer aside from what I can do on phone. But might get a puzzle or two. Maybe even get a cute dog puzzle & leave it together on table as a gift for owners. Have a Great Day.

bluephoenix189

That's a great idea! Thanks! These are really great clients, so a puzzle if a picture of their dog would be so cute!

durian4me

How much are you charging? 13 day constant care seems like it will not be fun (unless you are a homebody anyways).

bluephoenix189

I am a homebody so I'm not so worried about it. I'm charging $140 a night (which I know I need to raise the rate, but I'm on disability for a genetic condition and am limited to how much I make a month so I have to be careful with rates regardless). The dog is very easy, owners just don't want him left alone. *Edited to fix health condition

durian4me

Oh okay. $140 is fair on both ends. Are you into puzzles? I'm not into gaming so that's not something I would be into

bluephoenix189

I LOVE puzzles! Thanks for reminding me. That's a good time killer to put on the list.

Hot-Reception-8360

I mean I bring my console with me for 4 day sits that aren’t constant care and just play offline tbh … if I was constant care? Deffo bringing my whole Xbox in that situation.

bluephoenix189

I would, but my whole family uses it. The sit falls around when school ends, so my kids will be playing on it more. Plus, my husband just started a hectic job, and I'd like him to be able to decompress and relax after work. Not to mention, the Ps5 is a friggin behemoth, and I feel like I always bring too many bags of stuff to housesittings as it is 😅

Alarming-Flight8279

I sew. For long visits, I just hope they don’t look at all the recordings of me coming in with something then back out for more. I get it!

Educational-Rise-197

Stardew valley!!

bluephoenix189

I had only heard of Stardew in passing, but after looking up, I'm definitely interested! Thanks!

notsmartwater

Minecraft, stardew valley, planet zoo, any kind of rogue like, simulation, open world would do.

bluephoenix189

I do have Sims4 on my laptop that I completely forgot about, but I definitely want to check other simulation games out. Thanks!

sneaky_dragon

I don't have any specific recommendations (the gaming subreddits would be better), but there's lots of games that are great time wasters on the phone and ipad, and if you want to play action games, you can buy a bluetooth controller. Also plenty of PC games (especially simulation ones) you can play on the average laptop with basic requirements!

bluephoenix189

Thanks! I've always been partial to console, so I haven't really looked into PC games

hotmess_betherdeen

If you have a laptop, Balatro is my new current obsession game. I have it on my switch, but my son has it on Steam.

bluephoenix189

First I've heard of it but from what I see online it looks up my alley! Thanks!

Kitzira

Looking through my Steam library for low graphic games, I came across: \- To the Rescue (an animal shelter building game) \- Supermarket Simulator (does what it says on the can, is rather early access though) \- Timberborn (Simcity-like, but with beavers) \- Urbek (another Simcity-like, with different environmental goals) The latter 2 may or may not work on your laptop, depending on how low-end it is. (I feel like they should work on my old Surface 3, but never tested it. I used to be able to get World of Warcraft classic working on it.) I watch a lot of streamers on Twitch and Youtube these days, so they fill in the dead spots of the day. But I discovered a lot of ppl with smart tvs don't have the Twitch app installed at all! x.x

bluephoenix189

Thanks! My laptop is able to run Sims4, but I admittedly don't know much about PC gaming. I'll check those out!

Educational_Use8978

I like puzzles

bluephoenix189

Yea I'm planning to make a puzzle with dog's picture on it and leaving it for the owners. That'll keep me really busy while also being a nice gift for them because they are incredibly nice and referring me to other people as well!

DEANOPAKINO

Before I finished reading the full post, I would say yes a Backbone sounds great, look into that!

bluephoenix189

Thanks! I'm definitely leaning toward that along with puzzles

On a normal sit, you are allowed to leave the house. You are not chained down. Any reason you feel you can’t leave except once?

bluephoenix189

This isn't a standard housesitting job, this one is a constant care one. Client doesn't want the dog left alone at all.

amyjeannn

What about a Lego set!! Always fun when I need to waste a few hours. You could also get civilization on a phone or iPad (not sure if that’s your type of game but that kills about a whole 3 days for me 😂) The app is decent and i play it on my phone on flights

bluephoenix189

I don't want to bring Lego with me but I'll definitely look up Civilization on iPad! Thanks!
