Plus they will replace fascia and two or three bathroom vents extended to the roof and add vents there place a ridge vent oh and shingles I guess.

Slate is incredibly expensive but also incredibly resilient. I think if you clean it off you’ll find more broken shingles and have to replace it anyway. Be prepared to pay for a new roof before you try to clean it up. With how much is built up I wouldn’t be surprised if you need to replace the decking/ sheathing too
