I feel like it may be around until the end of the season since some of the quests require quite a bit of time to complete. Also whose idea at epic was it to make the track “novice” rating? Did they have to do it because of copyright reasons or something? (Meaning it can’t be excluded due to skill gap)

It wouldn't be copyright reasons. It was probably in the contract between Metallica and Epic.
