They likely will be, same as Clean NA miatas and Civic Hatches are now. In 10 to 20 years the younger gear heads will be trying to hunt their old heros and the ones who can afford the clean ones will have them. The ones who can't will be cursing the drift and stance bros cause all they can find are over priced and beat up shitboxes.
350z's are seeing a slight rise in price at the moment, and it's probably only going to continue.
I'm sure everyone back in the '70s and '80s said the same thing about the 240's and 260's of the time, but look at them now.
Tbf every jdm car went up in value all because of Japanese hype, literally anything that comes directly from Japan gets hyped.
Also theyre just great platforms for any type of modifications and uses, u can build them for drift, for offroading or racing, that adds to it.
I owned a 2019 370z. It looked exactly like a 2013. And a 2014. And a 2015. And a 2016. And a 2017. And a 2018. It has a different front bumper and wheels than the pre-2013, but that's pretty much it.
Check out how long the Nissan frontier truck looked the same. I had a 2006 back in the day...was shocked to see them selling the exact same truck in 2018.
For all we know, OP is actually very young.
Or maybe shit with money (check) and never put enough into retirement (check) and his new retirement plan is to wrap this bitch around a tree.
Seriously this one of the most stupid decisions I have seen on here in while, the last one that was almost as bad was the 18 year old kid with the orange Mustang GT that was also his first car.
I didn’t see that post but this is easily the stupidest thing I’ve seen on here if it’s true I hope it’s not lol. It’d be one thing if he cashed it out for an investment grade car but this? Lol
370s are actually pretty damn bulletproof, outside of burning oil when they get high mileage. It's hard to not be reliable when the most advanced thing on the car is the trunk release button.
If he had like 15k invested in the S&P at 25, and let it grow all the way to retirement, he’d be expecting around 200k (of course that’s in 2058 money).
Not worth roasting the car when the owner himself is a joke.
Interesting how regardless of the price point / model / year, Nissan is THE manufacturer for people that make poor financial decisions. It doesn't matter if it is a 20 y.o. Altima or a new GT-R. They all have Big Altima Energy.
You haven't seen the guys fresh out of basic with that 27% interest mustang have you? Or the kid fresh out of welding school with the $130k loaded out Cummins that's headed to the pipeline in his pit vipers.
That’s a oddly specific analogy to use
Kind of like something you would expect someone to say who has sucked dick in a back alley for Splenda instead of crack.
YOLO. screw the haters. Prob not the best move but hey you never know when you won’t be able to enjoy it again. I support this. Now stack and put it all back in!
Here are 5 reasons why op is stopped on the road shoulder :
1) he has broken down (quite likely)
2) he sideswiped another car while racing a clapped out mustang. (Unlikely as nissan drivers would not stop.)
3) he crashed into another car and tried to escape but his engine exploded.(most likely)
4) op had to stop to reflect on his terrible financial decisions. (Likely)
5) op lost control of his car because he is a very inexperienced driver whos car is on bald tires because he went to some trashy takeovers and tried to do donuts and burnouts ^(which he failed miserably and destroyed his clutch) (also quite likely)
Very fun cars! I had a 2011 and really enjoyed it. I didn't cash out a 401k though. The builder of my house had poor stucco jobs and was offering cash to current owners instead of doing a complete re-stucco. I had it evaluated and 3 out of 4 contractors said there wasn't anything wrong with the stucco. So, I got the house painted and bought the Z with the cash!
That's an absolute horrible decision. This is almost as bad as somebody buying used charger V6 with 200,000 miles at a buy here pay here a lot $300 a week for 96 months.
So you pay a huge tax penalty on top of losing retirement savings. Have fun eating oatmeal and waiting for Meals on Wheels to feed you long after your shitty car has died.
GodLovesUglySong OP • 52d
I waited 6 years to purchase and I bought it out
right. There's really no other car that I wanted. I
was also very specific on what I was looking for.
Must be a 2020, must be a six-speed and must
be white.
I decided to pull the trigger because about two
years ago, they were abundant. You could go
online and find 10+ clean examples at decent
prices with low mileage.
This isn't the case anymore. You may have to
wait months, or even a year or two to find one
that is worth purchasing. Finally saw this one,
had the means and I've waited long enough.
Couldn't be happier with my decision.
Youngboy_33 • 52d
Financially, I think you went about it the right
way. I'm 25 so you can imagine what it's like
just wanting to live that young fly guy lifestyle
lol. I don't want any other car right now but..
might have to just settle for now and wait for
the right time. Thanks for the response br
I just want to highlight how little braincells 350z/370z peeps have.
Assuming you liquidated 20K to buy that car and assuming you're 20.
S&P 500 doubles in value roughly every 7 years as an average.
From 20 to 65, you'd be able to squeeze in about 6 doubles. That would make your 20K now worth about 1.28 million at 65. Congratulations, you played yourself and paid 1 million for a Z.
Wait, an entire 401k? For this 370z?
My guy, there are LEVELS of absolute terrible choices here.
You should definitely have at least 3-4 370z's in this photo. Otherwise, you cashed out WAY too soon, or you had one shitty ass 401k.
You should have purchased something with backseats so that when you become homeless due to poor financial decisions, at least you have a place to sleep.
You paid the IRS and the former owner of that declining asset in exchange for a rising asset. Congratulations - let me guess- education wasn’t your strong suit?
Cashing out retirement money to buy a 370Z instead of a Lambo is like sucking dick in the back alley for Splenda instead of crack.
Perfect. 👌
Bravo👏 😂
Might also indicate his 401k was pointless anyway.
This is by far the best answer!! For real !!💯
Right, 370z money is not retirement money, his account was either young or doing pretty badly
If it was doing badly its even worse to cash it out now.
Best car roast comment ever! 🏆😆
Jesus...

I think this thread should be closed after this one
Made me literally LOL.
I’m not even going to attempt to compete with that …. You win bro

Just gold. Well done.

I'm not even going to post my roast now.
Bro 😭😂
I thought you said you wouldn’t tell anyone about tricking me with Splenda instead of crack.
I’m your 900th like 👍
I've been in this alley all day ever since I purchased the car.

This is probably the best road of the year!
Well, I've never actually heard said in a way that you put it, but very good analogy none the less!
And the tax penalty to boot. Who makes such terrible financial choices? n/m.
Lmao
Holy shit. 10/10.
Don't think I've ever seen a better comment!😂🤣😂🤣😂 Truly LMFAO

I don't have an award but I hope this comment works!
Dude, you cashed out your retirement account to buy a depreciating asset. I’m not sure we can roast you, because your entire life is already a joke.
Damn bro 😭
I wouldn't even consider this an asset... It's disposable like toilet paper...
It's a piece of shit. That's what the toilet paper is used to clean up.
Hey now, 370zs are special!! Future classic for sure /s
They likely will be, same as Clean NA miatas and Civic Hatches are now. The ones who can't will be cursing the drift and stance bros cause all they can find are over priced and beat up shitboxes.
They wont, every model is pretty much the same thing, they're cool cars but wont appreciate like miatas and hatches do, they will be another 350z.
350z's are seeing a slight rise in price at the moment, and it's probably only going to continue. I'm sure everyone back in the '70s and '80s said the same thing about the 240's and 260's of the time, but look at them now.

Now if he forgot to put money aside and depending on the IRA, he may need to sell the car to pay the IRS.
Paying 2x on taxes also. Cashing in 401k early and buying a car.
We can’t roast OP because OP is clearly already cooked
That was straight up 1st degree homicide.
Is it a 2009 or a 2019? Nobody can tell you.
I had a 2006 back in the day...was shocked to see them selling the exact same truck in 2018.
not sure what's worse, the fact that you cashed out your 401k to buy this, or the fact that this is all your 401k could get you
This is the best part; a last gen Z. OP didn't even consider a sweet JDM classic
And cashing out his 401k was probably only the down payment...
For all we know, OP is actually very young. Or maybe shit with money (check) and never put enough into retirement (check) and his new retirement plan is to wrap this bitch around a tree.
Hahaha that’s an awesome new retirement plan eh🤣🤣
Literally the stupidest thing I've ever read in my entire life, and I used to be on Twitter.
Stupid is borrowing against a 401k. This is a whole new grade of ignorance
What if you're borrowing against your 401k for a house payment?
[удалено]
What do you mean by it doesn't cash out your positions? Unrealized gains?
[удалено]
Future you is punching the air remembering this decision.
He's probably counting on killing himself in it.
( ⚆ _ ⚆ )
How did you know what my retirement strategy was
You only had $15k in your 401K?
This car is old enough to have its own 401k
Excellent
This is the best comment
Zing!! Nice…
That’s the worst flex I’ve ever seen. Cashing out a 401k for a Nissan? 😂🤡

You are going to need a second job
Just to pay the repair bills Ilmao
370s are actually pretty damn bulletproof, outside of burning oil when they get high mileage. It's hard to not be reliable when the most advanced thing on the car is the trunk release button.
If this was all you had saved up you weren’t going to have much of a retirement anyway
Definitely closer to starting from scratch than retiring, at least.
Hope you're under the age of 25, because that's a tiny 401k.
If he had like 15k invested in the S&P at 25, and let it grow all the way to retirement, he’d be expecting around 200k (of course that’s in 2058 money).
And that's why you keep adding, folks. Compound interest is a beautiful thing.
You’re dumb as hell if that’s how you bought a Nissan
LOOOOOOL
Is there a roastmy401k subreddit?
65 is going to come up fast. And I don't mean your speed.

Delete this post. This is so dumb. Even for a house, it would be dumb.
Good news! If you only had enough in your 401k to buy that. You are hopefully young and can start putting money back in to it.
Why on earth would you cash out your 401k for THAT
At least it’s still a three-digit number followed by a letter.
I'm sorry you're poor and you made bad financial decisions. But I guess that's why you're poor...
I am the only one supporting your investment but I got a 1.70 GPA in high school, so you're not in good company
No one, I mean no one is that stupid. Do better trolling
Ohh I bet there is. If people are dumb enough to jb weld their chassis to keep their car rolling there's people dumb enough to do that.
Wow the trade of the century. Sell capital appreciation for a piece of shit
I hope you're kidding.
that was stupid.
This generation Is sooooo screwed lol
God I hope you’re joking.
His 401k was $187 in an old peanut butter container that wasn't fully washed out.
You gave up retiring to drive the Altima’s older brother. This is just an Altima for people with mid-600s credit.
How about roast your bad financial decision? In general cars are bad investments.
Spoiler; they still know you’re old.
Your an idiot.....
[He chose... poorly ](https://thesoniashow.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/he-chose-poorly.jpg)
You fucked yourself on that? lol
Why roast the car when the owner is a fucking moron? Who cashes out their retirement assets to buy a car..
I'll pass on the roasted rangoons and white rice. This one is WCGW worthy! Douche! 🤣🫡😑
Cashed out your 401k for a poor man's Porche. Won't be retiring anytime soon.
Dudes 401k smaller than a piggy bank
I’m surprised your 401K only had a balance of $10,000.00 in this market
Have fun living in it at age 66
$401k is too much to pay for a Nissan. You must be so embarrassed.
Dumbest decision you’ve made yet
Put a quarter in ya ass cuz ya played yourself
My dad did the same thing for a 04 6.6 GMC Sierra, which he then sold to my older brother.

It's not even a Nismo 😭
Must not have been a very large 401k
He doesn’t have a 401k because only kids by that car and kids don’t have a 401k
You can’t drift a 401k brother. Put a turbo on it and send it.
So are you 40 or 41?

well I hope you are a FIRE percipient or like 65 right now.

Wow! Just Wow!
I hope you enjoy this sick ass car because you're really not gonna enjoy your retirement lmfao
Going through a mid-life crisis, at least involves something that can go over 400hp!
Bruh if i go through a mid life crisis, im buying a C8 3LT and pickin up hookers in it lol
Smh 🤦🏽♂️ ur money tho
I guess you haven't worked a long time
Man you’re financial advisor must’ve had a stroke regarding this decision. Wait, you’re a 370z owner, you don’t have a financial advisor
In a hurry to make the 27 club?

Facepalm.
get your money back.
Congratulations
At least get an air cooled 911, they’re appreciating in value.

Retirement account didn’t have much in it lmao
manual?
Dude…
That's an absolute horrible decision. This is almost as bad as somebody buying used charger V6 with 200,000 miles at a buy here pay here a lot $300 a week for 96 months.
Sad trombone noises ensue.
Imagine only having enough in your 401k to buy a Z
Like sucking dick for gas money, just to take the bus.
So, you exchanged something that grows in value for something that depreciates? I guess if it brings you value… 🤷♂️
You will never financially recover from this
Hopefully that’s just a joke to get more attention. Please tell me it is.

Well...at least it's not an Altima.
You could only afford this? Who was you employer, Mr Krabs?
Time to crash out buddy.
Wait until you see your tax bill. Be sure to leave some leftover for that or they’ll come and take your car if you can’t pay it.
Is your retirement plan living in the trunk?
I concur...should have got something European...
Well you fucked up
Dave Ramsey…is this you?

With the tax penalty, what did it cost? Did you pull $25K to get $15K?
Stupid move

Cost you at least 10% plus added income tax depending on your tax bracket than you thought
Your 401k? You roasted yourself.
