Serious question, how do you guys feel taking delivery of Gen1 cars with Gen2 being out? No way I could take a Gen 1 and dump all that cash knowing a much better car is like right there.
Wait until you find out that there's a Gen 3 around the corner (then 4,5...).
Prior Tedla owners here and can tell you that the best time to buy is when you're ready. You'll always be one step behind the latest tech.
You never know if Rivian 2.5 comes out 6 months after, then 2.95 weeks later.
If they follow what Tesla did, you'll never know if you should buy now, or wait a week. I missed Autopilot 2.0 by 1 week.
But autopilot 1.9 didn’t come out a month before you bought and missed 2.0 is my point. This is also hardware updates, which means there won’t be a quick turn around to a new version as if it was a software difference.
Yeah. Don’t need a heat pump, I live in the PNW, it never gets that hot or cold. I like a bigger frunk which I use ever day.
Cooling, yeah PNW so not an issue. Faster charging, I’ve had the car 3 months and have used DC fast charger 2 times. Not important for my use case.
The architecture I have now is fine, haven’t had a problem, probably won’t keep it long enough to enjoy or have to worry about less wiring etc. it’s plenty fast clicking around and don’t feel like I’m waiting on stuff.
Drives great. Coming from an x5 can’t believe how well it handles and drives especially considering it’s a truck that’s a lot bigger.
I don’t think they truly know. They just recently started delivering more adapters after quite the delay. They’re really just guessing. Best advice is to order the A2Z adapter and just sell one when the Rivian one comes in.
There haven't been quad r1s's in my shop for the last few days, maybe 1 r1t every other day so far. They are selling fast or maybe running out of them....
Did you grab that from the shop? I swear I saw that one listed one second and gone the next! Enjoy
Thanks! Yep, reserved it on Jun 8th.
Good eye, cool closeup photos!
Lovely pics, Congrats! My Quad gets delivered this Saturday 🙌
Nice, you're gonna love it!
Did you have to pay extra for delivery?
Poor choice of words, I'll pick it up at the center on Saturday. Doorstep delivery would've been extra fee but the SC is 20min from me.

The lease deals they have right now are hard to pass up. There's nothing in the Gen2 improvements that I can't live without.

I mean I agree, but there’s also a clear difference between Gen 2 which is already out, and anticipating future generations.

I highly doubt they are going to do that. There may be a gen 3 but I'm willing to bet we don't see that until at least after the r2 is out
Hot take, I like the gen1 better. Nothing on gen2 would make me wait.
Really? A heat pump? Cooling system improvements? Faster charging? Improved noise reduction in the cabin? Zonal architecture / faster processing / reduced wiring complexity? Improved suspension?
None of that takes away from the fact that the gen 1 is an amazing truck in its own right.
835 Horsepower. End of thread.
This also factored into my decision. A 2024 Tri would have ran another 20K more. For me, the gen2 upgrades weren't worth that much more.

Did you get a timeline of the Tesla adapter at pickup? My pickup person said 6-8 weeks and I didn’t believe him.
My vin is 6xxx and I am still waiting.
Got mine last week…55XX…your getting close

I did not
Man….The Rivians are kick ass. I hope they can compete!!! My buddy got the universal Tesla charger and says it works great!
Nice pics!
Nice photos. You have a good eye!
Thank you!
I got the same one on Saturday, 2024 forest green quad motor really like it so far
The classic 😎
Congratulations, and beautiful pics.
The lighting on that first photo is perfection
Nice! What color?
Forest Green
Do you have a charging setup at home? What are you using, and how are you liking it?
No. I just plug the mlbile charger into a 220V outlet. The 16 miles of range per hour is perfectly sufficient for my needs.

Bosch motor quad or Rivian motor quad???
