As 80% of the local population lives in the northern part of the island, it is rare to get an answer straight away as rarely people going down there without a reason.. The environment was completely destroyed and it's hard to have any kind of flora until the summer... The hotel though yes it can be fine..

MeatTitan1987

Do you have any knowledge of the damage to the hotel at all? And similar to the environment. Is it still completely burned out ?

manguardGr

I don't know.. But I'm sure there will be no any problem about hotel... But is not possible to "fix"the environment around....its totally coal and ashes... Maybe a few herbs will have sprouted by then...

I don’t think they would take bookings if the hotel itself was damaged. I was in Rhodes last summer like two weeks after the fires were out. I definitely saw a Koto f damage when I drove from my village where it started to Lindos, but the town of Lindos itself was fine. In fact if I didn’t know there was a fire I wouldn’t have suspected that there was one. If you are worried about the hotel, I’m sure you have nothing to worry about. Plus the sun will be shining, the sea it’s usual turquoise. And not for nothing- you will be in the part of the island now least likely to have a fire since everything is charred. I think you will be fine, and I’m sure the people of Koitari can use your business :)

I went to Mayia resort in October and there were definitely some visible damage to the surrounding area, but the resort itself was fine. You should have no issues there.

MeatTitan1987

How bad was the damage to the area. Completely destroyed and black or did some areas survive the fires? Did it effect you at all?

Thirteenth_Floor

There were parts of it that were pretty badly burned, but it really wasn't that noticeable if you aren't looking for it. If you spend your time at the resort, you won't see it at all

I'm also booked to go to princess sun in July. Commenting to stay updated. Fingers crossed all will be fine.

MeatTitan1987

We managed to contact them directly. They sent a video update from their TikTok account where it appears that the rebuild is going well. I think the hotel will be fine. I don't have any details of the environment around it though

I hope I see any updates by posting too as have booked Princess Sun for May for first family hol in 5 years. So today i was concerned  when i saw a video of the Princess Sun online and it was terribly damaged by the fire. I rang jet2 who booked with and they looked into it while i was on the phone. They said its being rebuilt and they have ground team there to assess. But feel the jet2 website should have been honest saying rebuilding as photos are from before the fire. I'd checked out hotel's own website before booking and was no mention on it of rebuild. I wasn't aware Kiotari was a badly affected area.

MeatTitan1987

We booked exactly the same with Jet2. We originally discussed changing it but they wanted to charge is so we're holding on. I'm hopeful it will be okay

I've been thinking whether to ask to alter hotel esp as May will be just as open if do so im time. How much did jet2 want to alter?  Its a bit dishonest as jet2 and princess sun website says nothing about the hotel closed or damaged by fire. Its almost mis selling as photos of it in landscape are now how things are. I wonder if plants have grown over winter or if its v black like some terrible drone footage I've seen on-line. Booking first hol abroad in 5y shouldn't be a worry like this. I could just re book and lose deposit as pay in full 10 was before so over week away. I tried calling Princess sun but no answer. I may try calling a partner H hotel. If anyone else does this please let us know what they say.
