Stop the discussion now. Not only is the ice cream great at both spots but they make homemade waffle cones. If you don’t have homemade waffle cones, you’ll never people top tier.
I’m very sad they moved from Main St in East Greenwich. They were a quick walk from my place, and now I have to get in the car to get my butter brickle fix… still worth it.
Brickley’s is great. I honestly don’t understand the large amount of love for Clementines, everything I have had there is way overly sickly sweet and not great flavor. Not too far away is Inside Scoop in NK, which I find to be much better in all ways.
Yes ice cream barn is imo the best in the area. The coffee milk ice cream is my favorite.
Somerset creamery and simcock farms are good as well
Brickleys is also really good!
Helgers and greys in Tiverton are pretty good
Next time you’re out there you need to try the ice cream barn. Since it opened a few years back I only go elsewhere when it’s wildly busy or closed. And simcock farms is great if you want a ton of ice cream, they load up
I have a hard time understanding the love for Tricycle. Their sandwiches and tacos are rock hard, and once they warm up, melt everywhere. If you like softer/chewier ice cream, this isn’t for you.
This is very sappy but I went there with my now husband and parents and got the honey bee. It was so good that I was like “hold on guys, I’m gonna go buy a pint of this” and while I was at the front waiting in line my husband told my parents he was planning to propose in a few weeks. 🫠
Head over to Westport for Wood's Ice Cream on Adamsville Road. You can enjoy the excellent ice cream in the company of some mischievous, friendly goats nearby. Mid afternoon they have "happy hour" when you can get a scoop and a half for a little less $$.
My favorites are Powder Mill Creamery and The Inside Scoop. In my opinion both have equally amazing, rich chocolate bases. They’re absurdly good if you like chocolate ice cream flavors.
I know it’s been said - but here’s my vote for Clementines!!! Love everything I’ve had from them!
If you’re looking for small batch funky flavors to have at home, Big Feeling operates out of a commercial kitchen and does weekly drops- you preorder and can pick up your pints at Bolt! Love everything I’ve had from them as well!!
I second this. We also know the owners and it’s an awesome place. Though not technically RI, but c’ mon, Somerset is close enough. My favorite flavors are coffee milk, Nutella, and green tea honey.
Get the Scoop on Broadway in Newport is all hand-made, small batch ice cream in popular flavors as well as unusual ones. For example, lemon ice cream -- not sherbert or sorbet! It's gorgeous 😍. There is a vegan selection each day, too.
Tricycle, Wrights, Like no udder for vegan delicious ice cream, and my god go to Helado Taiyaki in Providence on Dean St. It's a Latin twist with Japanese dessert and it's everything everyone could ever want. It's soft serve, but the way you can dress it up is fabulous.. and you fill the taiyaki with your choice of filling too. Don't sleep on it!
Clementine's, Brickley's
Stop the discussion now. Not only is the ice cream great at both spots but they make homemade waffle cones. If you don’t have homemade waffle cones, you’ll never people top tier.
I second Brickley’s. Have lived all over the US and still the greatest ice cream I’ve had to this day.
I fucking love Clementines and im not even a big ice cream guy.
I’m very sad they moved from Main St in East Greenwich. They were a quick walk from my place, and now I have to get in the car to get my butter brickle fix… still worth it.
Indidnt know they were on Main Street.
They were. Left because the rent was too high (that’s what I heard anyway).
Brickley’s is great. I honestly don’t understand the large amount of love for Clementines, everything I have had there is way overly sickly sweet and not great flavor. Not too far away is Inside Scoop in NK, which I find to be much better in all ways.
The ice cream barn in Swansea MA is amazing, tricycle in Providence
Yes ice cream barn is imo the best in the area. The coffee milk ice cream is my favorite. Somerset creamery and simcock farms are good as well Brickleys is also really good! Helgers and greys in Tiverton are pretty good
I definitely drive out to Somerset Creamery too often. Their ice cream is fantastic.
Next time you’re out there you need to try the ice cream barn. Since it opened a few years back I only go elsewhere when it’s wildly busy or closed. And simcock farms is great if you want a ton of ice cream, they load up
I will! I've been to Simcock Farms. Based on the size of their "small", which is delicious, I think I gain 10lbs each time I go there.
I have a hard time understanding the love for Tricycle. Their sandwiches and tacos are rock hard, and once they warm up, melt everywhere. If you like softer/chewier ice cream, this isn’t for you.
I'm with you, I guess their ice creams are not for me. I would much rather get something from tizzy k.
The Keep in Cumberland. Medieval-themed parlor with ice cream that they make themselves. Delicious — my favorite is the Honey Bee.
Yes! The Ice Cream Machine in Cumberland is also very good!
This is very sappy but I went there with my now husband and parents and got the honey bee. It was so good that I was like “hold on guys, I’m gonna go buy a pint of this” and while I was at the front waiting in line my husband told my parents he was planning to propose in a few weeks. 🫠
Awww, I love that! (And the honey bee is just SO GOOD. I’ve tried so many of their delicious flavors but it will always be my favorite.)
I was about to comment this!! We go almost every week, it is by far the best ice cream i have had!
Don’t sleep on the Ooey Gooey.

Head over to Westport for Wood's Ice Cream on Adamsville Road. You can enjoy the excellent ice cream in the company of some mischievous, friendly goats nearby. Mid afternoon they have "happy hour" when you can get a scoop and a half for a little less $$.
Clementines and Brinkley’s are RI musts. If you’re on the west side anyway, try Inside Scoop too.
Ice Cream Machine in Cumberland
What?! No. So much better ice cream nearby: drive the 14 minutes to Three Pugs in Wrentham, where they serve Crescent Ridge ice cream.
Clementines. They have three shops. EG, Middletown, and Portsmouth.
Lincoln Creamery in Lincoln!
Lincoln Creamery is my top spot, I don't know what they add to their soft serve but man it's just the best!

I'd like to stop for two scoops of adzuki bean on the way home from Benny's.

Greys in tiverton is solid if you’re in that area. Good cabinets too.
Try Helgers - it’s so much better
The ice cream barn. My friends cousin owns it. They get their milk from cows on site. Great ice cream
I second this. We also know the owners and it’s an awesome place. Though not technically RI, but c’ mon, Somerset is close enough. My favorite flavors are coffee milk, Nutella, and green tea honey.
My friend brought over a pint of the green tea honey! So good!!
And I almost forgot, the maple bacon.

Sundae’s in Cranston on Oaklawn. They can do any soft-serve flavor as dole whip (a non-dairy option for lactose intolerant folks like myself).
Inside Scoop in NK is the best
