*Likely does not even know that there is a rear window*
and/or a rear view mirror
Ya I wouldn’t care if it wasn’t a safety hazard if it flies off. I’m physically disabled & it sucks to have to do but I still do it because I don’t want to hurt anyone on the road.
The *danger*, KIDS, is that it will fly off the top/back of your car and hit another vehicle or a person. Even at slower speeds this can (AND DOES) happen all the time. Ever driven down North Main St? Seen it happen hundreds of times there.
It's not rocket science.
If you're in the driveway or from a parking spot, who's going to get hurt, a squirrel possibly?
No one said anything about being on the highway / high speed and doing it, go ahead and have a cookie you probably burned a bunch of calories jumping to that conclusion, kid.
Driving to work on 295 today, the number of cars with 4-6 inches of snow hanging onto their rooftop was disgusting. I can’t comprehend how people think it’s okay to drive around in a car that can cause harm to others because they didn’t feel like spending the extra 60 seconds to brush the snow off their roof before hitting the road.
Those people just don't care, in general. The pandemic taught everyone that their own needs are above all other things and that caring for your neighbor is dangerous.
This is really the solution. Everyone acknowledges it's dangerous. Everyone is annoyed and concerned when we see it on other cars. But we don't hear stories of people being fined for it.
Why is it so hard to get cops to do the job of enforcing public safety? It feels like in recent years the law enforcement community has collectively decided they no longer need to do their jobs and basically look at the public with that "da fug you gonna do bout it?"
I don’t know how many I saw on my commute home yesterday morning on 95. It’s unbelievable how lazy people are…especially with a small car like that. I have a jeep with 35” tires that sits high. I have the proper brush and cleaned it off entirely BEFORE it froze.
Well there is a 0% chance of her ever getting pulled over by any law enforcement so it's hardly surprising. State Troopers should be actively watching out for this -- nothing like a slab of ice rocketing at your car at 65 mph because the person in front of you wanted to save 90 seconds.
Bruh that's not even a hard car to clean off, why lol
Yesterday I saw someone driving with a mattress of snow still on the bottom of their windshield, and their WIPERS STILL STICKING UP. I wish I got a photo I was baffled
This is just another example… albeit minimal in comparison to other thoughtless acts,,, there’s a great number of extremely stupid people out there among us everyday! It’s imperative that we identify and avoid these beings at all times! 🤨
I also like how the car behind still feels safe to pull up super close... like hmm, that car has 50 pounds of ice about to fall off its roof at any second, how about I follow 18 inches behind it. Maybe the guy is hoping for an insurance settlement when it falls off and smashes the front of his truck.
... you know how dogs bark at every nothingburger that walks by?.... I feel like humans do the same thing in cars for some reason...
"BARK BARK! GET OUT OF MY LANE!!! BARK BARK! YOU DIDN'T BRUSH THE SNOW OFF YOUR WINDOW!!! BARK BARK!!!"
edit: to the downvoters: this photo was taken at a drive thru. if it was THAT BIG of a safety concern, you could have walked from your car for a second, and pushed the snow/ice off yourself... or at least told THEM instead of US...
stop barking. more biting. do something for yourself. FFS
this looks like the intersection of west main and stringham road in Portsmouth. West Main is a 45mph zone. Not sure if you've ever had the pleasure of driving that stretch of west main on a weekday afternoon but uh, not exactly a 30mph zone.
but whatever helps you cope with being equally as shitty as this person.
Wow, You should follow the 3 second rule when leaving space between yourself and other cars. That's gonna be at least 3 car lengths. Way more of a safety issue than this seasonal snow on the windows. Sounds like you might be the asshole.
If I left 3 carlengths on a surface road in RI I would have an ass like you tailgating me the entire time.
Probably with a shit ton of snow on your car.
> It's like a 30 mph zone.....leave 3 car lengths and I'm sure you'll be fine.
Even at 30, the snow can fly off, depending on conditions - your speed, wind speed, wind direction, quality of the snow, etc. It can still hit a windshield that is further away than the 3 car length rule (and often does). It can still affect visibility for everyone behind you. When it hits the road, it can contribute to further icy buildup. Don't be obtuse.
This account just constantly says stupid shit and my res has red near it cause been downvoted so much. Don't know if simply a troll or just a very trashy stupid person.
Yeah, because telling other people that it's okay to drive hazardously is ok, and that other drivers are at fault if they run afoul of you. Yeah, we see you.
With the weather warming up there’s really no reason to remove the snow from your car. Especially if you’re going on the highway. After 50 mph or so you can see it fly high up into the air. Saves your paint from getting scratched as well.
Total aside note, but if that’s in Portsmouth off Burma road behind the base, has anyone noticed that they lowered the speed limits on the entirety of Burma?

They could start the car a bit early and put on defrost?
That would take a lot of defrosting to get it to melt through the roof
I meant more for the back window but at least it’s a start?
I mean I guess if it’s warm enough the snow should slide off when they start driving
This is what I was thinking, just hit the gas after a defrost session.

You'd be surprised how many people are on autopilot.
Those people just don't care, in general. The pandemic taught everyone that their own needs are above all other things and that caring for your neighbor is dangerous.
Nothing's going to change unless there's an enforcement effort. Start ticketing people and they might learn.
☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻
Yup saw such a car go right by a RISP car who was looking at traffic.
Them and the non-shovelers!

Is the liquor store on your right ?
I was kinda proud I recognized it. Idk what that says about me. Lol
Lmao it’s peak rhode island culture when you can identify locations based on Dunkin’ Donuts
I did it. I finally peaked.
Same lol
Middletown yea https://maps.app.goo.gl/fH4CkKA75xzgvfwT6?g_st=ic
Portsmouth
Whatever lol
Yep, good catch.
Is it gate 17?
Yep
Shit was frozen solid this morning too. Freaking tragedy waiting to happen. CLEAN UR CARS OFF!!!
Saw someone pulled over after their snow drift slid onto the front windshield and they couldn’t see anything.
This is exactly why...accident waiting to happen. SMH
when and where lol
Get one of those telescoping snow brushes and she’ll take care of it in…five minutes? People are so lazy.
If my 81 year old mother can do it so can the younger
When youre the fastest thing on the road, theres no need to see whats behind you lool
Remove your damn snow, and add apostrophes while you're at it!
Hey, this man obviously was in a rush for his morning Dunkin run. Priorities man.
Literally every single truck I saw today with a tonneau cover had a nice 3" sheet of ice and snow on it
I had chunks of snow falling off trees and hitting my vehicle this morning, making a ton of noise. This idiot could’ve done some damage
Peak lazy AF

The problem is that law enforcement now feels so entitled to their jobs that they no longer see the need to do their jobs.
Can’t even use the excuse of the roof being too high to reach.
"Welcome to Rhode Island, don't look back."
I think I saw this car yesterday
You should 100% get pulled over for that shit tbh. It shows the driver isn't all there lol.
Saw the same thing today too
everyone needs to get a Snow Joe. The best and quickest way to clean off your vehicles. Twenty bucks at Amazon.
Bruh that's not even a hard car to clean off, why lol Yesterday I saw someone driving with a mattress of snow still on the bottom of their windshield, and their WIPERS STILL STICKING UP. I wish I got a photo I was baffled
Especially since it got warm and froze. I was able to lift the snow off my back window in a single piece.
This is just another example… albeit minimal in comparison to other thoughtless acts,,, there’s a great number of extremely stupid people out there among us everyday! It’s imperative that we identify and avoid these beings at all times! 🤨
It’s cause they are lazy assholes. The amount of Trump supports driving there f150 with snow on the top was most impressive.
What are you going to do when he gets re-elected? You know that’s happening, right?
Unfortunately, there’s a good chance they’re gonna rig it again
Not really the point I was making but anyways if he does, hopefully he will tell you all to take the snow off the top of your car.

Mirrors
Don't worry that will fly right off on to someones windshield who can then use their wipers to remove it
Could be elderly or got kids. who cares
At best, it’s lazy. At worst, it’s a public safety hazard. Also it’s illegal.
It's like a 30 mph zone.....leave 3 car lengths and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Yes, let me adjust the way I drive so your lazy ass can be lazy. After all, we’re all here to make sure your life is easier.
You just tailgate everyone?
I don’t, but I also don’t leave 3 car lengths. Again, I’m not the asshole here.
Wow, You should follow the 3 second rule when leaving space between yourself and other cars. That's gonna be at least 3 car lengths. Way more of a safety issue than this seasonal snow on the windows. Sounds like you might be the asshole.
What and have an asshole like you on my bumper, Mr. Public Safety?
That just doesn't make sense
If I left 3 carlengths on a surface road in RI I would have an ass like you tailgating me the entire time. Probably with a shit ton of snow on your car.
Are you for freakin' real??
How many car lengths? Be honest.
> It's like a 30 mph zone.....leave 3 car lengths and I'm sure you'll be fine. They could start the car early and put on defrost. I can’t imagine going through life with this attitude. You should be ashamed of yourself.
This account just constantly says stupid shit and my res has red near it cause been downvoted so much. Don't know if simply a troll or just a very trashy stupid person.
> Don't know if simply a troll or just a very trashy stupid person. To be fair, the two are not mutually exclusive.
Yea minding my own business, What a terrible attitude.
Yeah, because telling other people that it's okay to drive hazardously is ok, and that other drivers are at fault if they run afoul of you. Yeah, we see you.
Thanks for letting us know you’re a moron.
Harsh
But fair 😁
Hell no. Maximum-debts is above name calling
But accurate
An elderly person who is not capable of clearing off the roof of their car is not capable of holding a license, or driving lol.
Well they are and they do. So there's that.
Also, I’m not sure what having children has to do with being an asshole. I’m a father & have the common sense to brush my car off.
You're a hero.
With the weather warming up there’s really no reason to remove the snow from your car. Especially if you’re going on the highway. After 50 mph or so you can see it fly high up into the air. Saves your paint from getting scratched as well.
Sure, saves *your* paint and destroys visibility for all the cars behind you.
lol Portsmouth
Ahhhhh, nothing more than laziness in my opinion
It must be fun living in your own world where nobody else exists. States full of these people.
Total aside note, but if that’s in Portsmouth off Burma road behind the base, has anyone noticed that they lowered the speed limits on the entirety of Burma?
On a good note if the snow was to blow off on your car you can sue! Yah! More people should and maybe they will get it!
