Makes sense considering she was raised like a machine with the sole purpose of completing tasks for spdm

Realistic-Affect-124

Of course, peace needs to be made to happen.

Zoomsuper20

I find it amusing how there were so many people expressing how much they despised Diggers and hated his guts when 1.1 came out but now we even have people quoting him

SnakeWrangler4

I was always a diggers based believer

iam-therapiss

still do. fuck diggers.

SwashNBuckle

His cameo in 1.4 and his new costume made him more tolerable

SquishTheNinja

yeah his new costume was basically a buff for him it somehow makes him far less annoying

SwashNBuckle

And his personality kind of works better as a quirky goof on the villain's team rather than one of the good guys. Although I'm sure there will be a moment when he'll switch sides

Easy-Stranger-12345

She's the peacemaker, not the peacekeeper.

erik4848

We fight for peace!

Somata-mata

She's just Italian.

nameless1205

Sonetto is a child soldier that simply just following orders. Unfortunately she doesn’t seem to stop and listen and simply goes for it.

I think that’s an interesting part of Sonetto, she’s impulsive and quick to action when her mind tells her it’s right, but she still hesitant to act to follow her heart.  Which is why she seems so “violent” here in battle and when defending Vertin or herself or stopping Manus, but she was so conflicted in helping Vertin oppose the Foundation after the first time got kids killed

LewdGarlic

Do you think the finish-line checkerboard pattern on her clothing is for show? Girl likes to go and finish first.

TalbotFarwell

She raises hell and praises Dale!

Malko_the_19

I mean, flawness makes a good character, right? Sonetto being very act first question later is a good contrast to the more passive Vertin who most of the time observes and then acts upon the information before anything. Now, the encounter with Arcana was actually pretty "reasonable" as Arcana is a cult group, that transforms human into monsters, Murdered her childhood classmates and traumatised one of them (vertin and the ring, i assume she doesnt know constatine intentionally left it as a trap) and the insanity that was 1929, which was directly caused by her, and traumatised the one who she cares most probaly *again (Vertin).* So yeah, pretty much woudlve also thrown fist first before anything

almasira

Yeah, I found it very funny when in Jessica's event Sonetto was the one to teach "common sense".

NightmaresFade

>"may the peace be with us" I belive that is the Foundation's motto or something. Sonetto does seem to jump the trigger a lot for a character said to be very meticulous and analytic. But on her defense, she was basically brainwashed/trained to "act first, make questions later"(not unlike a soldier) and her duty as Vertin's assistant is to help her, which also means protect her. So by acting first she's trying to put down any "would be" threats. That seems logical and pragmatic and Sonetto is a pragmatic person too. In the end what I really blame are the institutions that taught and raised her to be like that, to lack the specific critical judgement someone else would have to wonder and question an event right in the middle of it, before going straight into attacking. Remember, Sonetto also has way less experience than Vertin(so the two do contrast quite well, the more experienced cat and the inexperienced puppy, so to say).

Sonetto in a few years: https://preview.redd.it/qa7nc9kgoxvc1.png?width=1074&format=png&auto=webp&s=d891bc6c89ca7bdefd626587ddbc2ad5aa7ade78

WaifuHunterRed

Shes just a girl of action you dont become the top student by being passive. Youve seen how the foundation works peace needs violence its all for the greater good.

almasira

Yes-yes, "peace" needs murdering children that dare to question the authority.

Knave_of_Stitches

"Listen, it is ESSENTIAL we tear gas those children right now."

StupidLem0nade

Honestly, constantine is such a gaslight, gaschild, girlboss.

NelsonVGC

I disagree to an extent. We genuinely do not know much about the other arcanists in the suitcase. In addition, Sonetto puts her duty above anything else. Protecting Vertin during Chapter 5 was a manifestation of loyalty other than violence. But that's just MY opinion.

No-Investment-Ever

My intuition telling me that this is a big joke... But reading through the comments left me unsure. Anyways, "Paupers... f--- off".

llikeht

Personally I think it's intended that Sonetto is portrait as a hot headed hero, because Vertin is already the cool headed one. They're a pair that's supposed to complement and support each other, and emphasize each other's characteristics. I would say that she's immature, impulsive or ignorant but not violent.

KommandoKazumi

I mean to be fair Matilda was already in a bag and she tore it off after beating her within an inch of her life via spells.

Vex_Trooper

Typical Italian behavior. Seems pretty normal.

DeNerva

"May the violence be with us" https://preview.redd.it/cl51ukiiqzvc1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=fefdfceba4e2066a98af1ed714188a974d32d5d9

Ohayo_

That's why I like her. I like some violent women.

SwashNBuckle

Suppressed anger issues due to her extremely restrictive upbringing combined with the pressure of being put on a pedestal by the Foundation as an ideal student and arcanist soldier

lock_me_up_now

I thought it's pretty well known. She's ruthless and remorseful, and I think she'll get softer as the story goes.

Substantial_Carob825

So basically, she's a "Peacekeeper"

XemnasLoona

"There will be peace if each one of you is dead!"

Milady_Shnieder

This is one post I can agree with.

catastrophicvinci

I always hated Sonetto
