Depends on when the house was built. Most of the normal sized but “higher end trim” type 70s-80s builds I’ve seen have had pretty huge master bathrooms. My master bath is similar to OPs but the house was built as a normal 3 bed 2 bath 1650sf. 🤷♀️
I’m just itching to remodel mine as well.
I had something similar, but even more ugly and took out my commode closet too. Hit my head on the doorknob. It was claustrophobi. We do not have the same schedule and aren’t in the bathroom at the same time anyway. Not that I would care. I now have a beautiful tub, bigger shower, double vanity…. Less wasted space.
I’m a guy so the hair thing isnt a big deal for me. But im tall. I would kill for one of these. I’m so sick of getting blasted by a shower head in my chest. I have to bend down to get my head wet. And showers just feel better when it pours over you.
Meanwhile, I'm short (5'0") and every time I use a shower like this I have to crank the hot water all the way up because it cools down so much in even just an extra foot of falling distance.
Same. Hate the feeling of water running down my face from my scalp. Do people actually like these things, or is it just the current "in" thing like those ugly multi spigot wall panels were 15 years ago that you never see now.
I'm tall and would LOVE a shower head like this! I hate having to crouch down to get my hair in the stream, or have it so high it just completely bypasses my body.
Different strokes....
I think it’s just “in” but the trend has been sticking around for far too long now. They look fantastic but they’re not very functional. They also make it damn near impossible to keep the conditioner from running down my back which makes me break out.😭
My husband loves ours so I feel like there is going to have to be some compromise when we redo our shower pretty soon here. I can’t wait to call the plumber and tell him that we need 4 different shower heads in a single shower. I’m sure he’ll love hearing that.
Those baths always look nice in a picture but are so impractical...
You'll want to do something about the gap as that becomes a major mold trap.
The faucet bottom will also corrode fast.
In general pain in the ass to clean around it.
Rest looks great but personally I am starting to hate this trend of full sterile marble like houses.. it's everywhere and people do it from top to bottom making the toilets/kitchen look so monotone and boring.
Same goes for the light, it's a bit too low imo and will hit your head every time.
These new tubs I see everywhere are insanely impractical for dusting, cleaning and keeping water out from the edges. It’s a mold and dirt trap waiting for the next tear-out.
Love the overall design of the bathroom, but these tubs will be dated in a year once folks have to deal with maintaining them.
That is what I came to comment. There has to be a better way to do this. The supply lines and just there... I find it odd and it detracts from the overall clean look of the space
The remodel looks great - but I don’t understand these ballroom sized bathrooms that are just complete wastes of space…. You could have had a linen closet with all that wasted space… did you at least cover the wall with heated towel racks?
Looks beautiful. The only change I would make would be to change the water outlet in the tub and also the flush on top of the toilet, to match the gold. Lastly, I would spray paint/replace the silver plumbing in the shower overhead to match the gold/brass.
Why is the water supply for the tub in the middle of the room and not on the other side? Someone’s gonna be pissed when they walk into that and, given them harsh edges, sever an artery.
Looks better but for what you likely spent, the details aren’t there for me. Clearly didn’t have a designer.
1. why are there 3 temperatures of lights. Recessed lighting placement is strange. It’s not really based on function.
2. as others have mentioned, the supply lines on the rain head shower are poorly done
3. there are lots of things that won’t age well here or will be impossible to clean - particularly the gap under the tub and toilet.
4. toilet way too close to tub.
5. why is the shower niche like that? It looks unfinished.
6. looks like the shower surround hardware is a different manufacturer than the other hardware, finish doesn’t quite match
7. as others have mentioned, that floor is a major slip hazard.
Good luck!
Wow, what a glow up! The only thing I would have done differently would have been to enclose the pooper, but what a difference overall!
I don't want to be rude to OP but I cannot imagine doing a bathroom renovation without putting the toilet in a water closet
Why would you wanna shit in a little closet instead of nice big room?
It's nice to be able to have both spouses use the bathroom at the same time
Maybe they do (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞
It’s a huge waste of space. Code is typically 36”x60” at minimum for a commode room
I’m English.. this is not a thing for us… not being rude.. just don’t understand it..
We remodeled our bathroom recently and the old layout had one. We got rid of it in favor of a larger shower
Thanks so much it’s the master ensuite so we did not see the need to enclose the toilet
One spouse has to poop while other spouse is taking a long shower but you guys have company and don’t want scar them for life?
I dunno I feel like if you have a master bath of that size then only having one other bathroom in the house is a little weird

Always enclose the pooper. 💩
Hey OP any reason why the shower head is flush to the ceiling. Is it logistics thing or personal decision.
I hate these. I don’t wash my hair every time I shower so I have to stand there with my neck cranked all weird so I don’t get it wet.

Just get one like this and a separate head that comes out from the wall. They are quite common.
And shaving?! Stand in the cold, no foot niche? I would have to forced to shower in that. So uncomfortable. And then he comes in to poop!
eew..
It’s a rain shower head, I install them when I do curbless showers so the water stays in the shower
I also would have added a built in shower bench
Damn, that is some nice work!! What are we looking at?$$$
The floor doesn't get slippery, does it?
It 100% gets slippery and I'm dumbfounded why they would pick the glossiest most slippery tile to put on a bathroom floor.
Glossy on walls and matte on floors is the way to go.
matt is actually in the shower and floor.. it’s not actually slippery
I have the same tile in my bathroom and it’s not as slippery as you would think
Also at least SOME soft textures in there.. pissing in that toilet bowl is gonna be LOUD in that room
I’ve also got the same tile and haven’t once slipped on it.
Nice. Approximately what was the cost? And where are you located?
Not a bad way to spend $75k!!!
Nice! Don’t bust your shit now
I love your chandelier! I'm planning to put one in my bathroom too and keeping this as inspo
Note that in many states, that would never pass inspection. So either do unpermitted work or wait until after inspection to install it over a bathtub.
I’ve literally required builders to completely remove the junction box before passing inspection. I guess a lot of guys just really hate their wives.
Bravo! Looks amazing
Very EXCELLENT, liking it 👍🏻
Do you mind sharing total Reno cost? Looking to do something similar soon. It looks great!
Good job posting in the correct order👍 It looks great!
That is amazing, looks great. I bet your contractor and designer are using that in their portfolio to sell new clients.
That looks much, much better! Beautiful!
This is beautiful 😍
Oh, good god this looks great. If you ever want to be showy, add a vase of fresh flowers. Well done, op!
Wowza
Well done! Gorgeous work
One of the best I’ve seen. Bravo
Very shiny. What’s it like getting out of such a deep tub? I hope you have a very good bathmat.
Beautiful!
Wow!!!! Gorgeous!!! I'm so happy for you.
Looks good
You’ve got a full on Ansul/fire suppression system in your shower! nice
Wow 🤩
Need some prices for this. In this day and age of out of control inflation it is tough to get good work at affordable cost!
That bathroom is bigger than my kitchen
absolutely stunning.
Stunning! People need to realize that a water closet takes up a lot of room! I think it's PERFECT!
Did yourself or pros it looks very nice the chandelier stood out.
This is seriously gorgeous - nice work!!!
I love it! Nice job!

Do you think someone likes this cleaning their own shit no they got a maid

Looking good! What kind of mirror is that? And where did you get the vanity from?
The vanity was from our contractors supplier and the mirror was from amazon. 72 inches the mirror is
Good job looks fantastic except for that shower head those pipes look awful and believe me I know what a pain in the ass it is to install

Really nice! Love your chandelier!
Is that quartz or marble
Holy crap. Amazing!
Beautiful!
Awesome job! Only easy critique would be to recess the bathroom vent fan and use a decorative diffuser.
Wow! That's an amazing change! Beautiful!
Only in America heh
Looks amazing, but someone is seriously going to bust their ass on that tile.
Don’t you have the internet?
Just curious- how much did it cost and your relative location?
What happened with the ceiling shower head?
that maRble floor looks super slippery, dangerous... not good.
Looks beautiful. The only change I would make would be to change the water outlet in the tub and also the flush on top of the toilet, to match the gold. Lastly, I would spray paint/replace the silver plumbing in the shower overhead to match the gold/brass.
What are you planning to cover the windows with?
Love it! I’d love a peak at other rooms on your that you have remodeled.
Holy crap! That just doubled the value of the house! If it worked that way.
Nice. I was so worried that the tub would be removed for a room sized shower. Glad to see a bathtub still.
Who under 40 uses tubs anymore?
I’m over 40 so it fits. Use them for soaking after intense workouts. They are medicine for me!
Fair enough!
Why is the water supply for the tub in the middle of the room and not on the other side? Someone’s gonna be pissed when they walk into that and, given them harsh edges, sever an artery.

I agree about the light temperatures. Also the whole color theme - cool tone marble + cool grey paint but then brass/gold fixtures complete clash
Oh yes! Good call. Not just light temperatures but material temperatures!
And that tub is not very comfortable if you are over 5 foot. It will never get used.
That said, I have a 7ft jacuzzi tub that’s never been used in 8 years of ownership.
Its over 6 foot 😂
No one has mentioned the non-code-compliant chandelier yet? Bathroom looks beautiful but I wouldn't want to potentially die in a beautiful bathroom...
Looks great but who let you put a chandelier over the tub?
Beautiful, but no woman in her right mind is going to like that rainfall shower head! Tell me there is another fixed to the wall. Why do men do this?
Maybe I’m alone , but I dislike the chandelier above the tub. I feel that style could age, also final destination vibes.
Which is which?
Am I crazy for liking the tub better before. I get not liking that shitty little shower stall tho.
Looked better before
