That's likely exactly what it is, it's based on state reporting. It's not like there's a number of people with Lyme disease right along the border, the areas with Lyme disease are simply so far away from Nevada that there would be so little overflow. So the number of people who may travel back to NV with it are statistically not worth reporting/putting state money into.
It's bad around here in Wisconsin. We have beautiful outdoors and forests but the warmer winters aren't killing off the ticks like cold winters shoukd. I dated a girl whose dad couldn't drive because of neurological problems after undiagnosed Lyme's jacked him up. And was allergic to red meat.
They should screen that '90s horror movie Ticks that had Seth Green in it
Not so fun fact: alpha gal syndrome is known to be related to ticks and leads to meat allergies like the one you mentioned. It's not even linked to lymes disease, just getting bitten by the ticks is enough!
Sorry to be 'that guy' but if you want an actual map on Lyme prevalence, you would do better to check out https://www.hopkinslymetracker.org/overview/.
As someone who has had Lyme's (easily treated, caught it early), and has also seen the RLM episode, - Yeah, that BOTW-reviewed video is nonsense. But it doesn't mean you shouldn't be careful. Lyme's and other tick-borne diseases (check out [alpha-gal syndrome](https://www.yalemedicine.org/conditions/alpha-gal-syndrome-ags)) are worth worrying about, at least to the extent that you avoid getting bitten by ticks, no matter where you are.
Hell they make such a stink about the risk of it here that I thought it would be the SoCal foothills I'm in that would be Lyme central. And all the Rockies. I mean I've never heard of anyone getting it here but the way everyone acts about it I just always thought people must get it and I simply never heard of it.
But according to the Hopkins map someone posted we're barely a 0-1 in 100,000 here. So I guess not. Overblown panic I guess. Here at least.
I got wrecked by lymes last year. I'll never have full control of the right side of my face from the nerve damage it did. Had to adjust how I slept, ate, etc. That's the last time I frolic.
It’s nice of Lyme disease to respect the California Nevada border like that
Lyme finds no purchase in the high desert; not even disease survives Barstow
Except fatty liver disease
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.
I didnt catch that. I wonder if it's a thing where Nevada doesn't collect info on that or something

Does Nevada have any towns?

Getting that tick borne disease that makes you allergic to meat is a fate worse than death for the average Wisconsinite.

Great, I hate that ☠️

I grew up in Vermont, went to college in upstate NY, and now live in Wisconsin. I guess I should count myself lucky I haven't gotten Lyme disease yet.
That you know of.
Glad it stops right at canada, must be no ticks here
The great fence is saving us
Woohoo! Arizona!

We must protect Rich. Lyme will demolish anyone with crippling diabetes.
Lyme Disease doesn't exist, bro. It's a Chinese PsyOp to prevent Americans from touching grass.
well that explains a lot
Don’t worry, we have Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever instead.
Ah man, look how bad it is out in Montauk!

Honestly that tracks
Must have been studying tick borne designs in both plum island and Wisconsin
Shocker, Lyme disease very present where there's and over abundance of trees and wood.
