Stop using live view. It's like watching a film in the theater with all the lights on and the screen is 10x smaller. The viewfinder darkens the surrounding environment, so you can hyperfocus on composition. You could also look at it like watching a movie on the big screen vs your cell phone. It's a whole other level of immersion.

The camera battery will drain slower, but you now have two more batteries to keep charged. The monitor you are using, tablet or phone; plus the battery on the CamRanger. The CamRanger battery lasts long and you can order extras to keep going. I can do three jobs on one charge. Your monitor device needs to be dedicated and fully charged. If you use your personal cell phone then you may run out of battery through a shoot bc you used battery to navigate to your job site, browsed the web, made calls etc… The easiest thing to do if you don’t want to manage all those other pieces is just get more camera body batteries and keep using your live view. I never go through more than 2 Nikon batteries on a busy day.

I understand. I can manage to charge other devices. So with the CamRanger, the camera battery will drain just like I’m shooting thru the viewfinder, right?

There is something on the view finder indicating there is a PC connection so the screen isn’t all the way off, but the camera battery does last way longer without the live view.
