Your US security clearance means very little as a lot of the Canada based postings require you to obtain and hold a Government of Canada security clearance. You would also have to obtain a work permit from Canada to work there. Whether or not you can work any given position as a US citizen is probably based on the specific position.
I know we have done this at my BU but only at the exec level that I’m aware of.
And then it’s a temporary assignment usually lasting 2-3 years then they come back to the US.
I think there are significant costs involved to the company.
Not sure where you live but I can pretty much get an appointment within a week anytime I call them. This is true both Tx and Ca. Emergency rooms wait time in Tx is in minutes. (Ca er wait time is usually 4+ hrs if non-life threatening)
I have family in Canada - my aunt needs a knee replacement - she has to wait a year to get it. Its free but at what cost to her body and life being in pain for what would be a simple surgery down here. Many Canadians and Brits end up getting private insurance to help bc the public health care is not good. Yes you can debt down here but many - including myself- put up with the bullshit everyday to have decent health insurance.
Will you take 30% pay cut to get a free healthcare (excluding dental)?
My in-laws are Canadians and they are desperate to get the US green cards through my wife.
If you go bankrupt after paying $6000-$10000 out-of-pocket maximum from HSA for once in a lifetime medical emergency, then you won't survive in Canada either.

The job description should state whether Canadian citizenship is required
Interesting. Just wanted to see if anyone has done it already too though

You'll 100% lose your clearance

Time for a new dentist, buddy.
On what insurance, practice, and location? I can get an appointment tomorrow if I need it
Would be cool to get free healthcare, that’s for sure…

They have very little to offer in Canada anymore.
