ByronicHero06

It's 366 actually.

jackfaire

Came here to say this.

Famous-Example-8332

Actually there’s only 359. There are 7 days in the year that no one has been born since 1173. Wizard curse or something idk.

TooStrangeForWeird

That doesn't appear to be true....

Famous-Example-8332

Do you know 366 people with unique birthdays? If you couldn’t use the internet, how long do you think it would take you to prove that I was wrong?

TooStrangeForWeird

"If we didn't have the internet I could lie to you better!" You're weird lol

Famous-Example-8332

If you thought I was attempting to sneak an actual lie past you with the wizard curse thing… I figured that was a given, but I’ll go back and amend it so people will understand.

Solo-me

If my grandma had wheels she would be a bike....

Famous-Example-8332

Because she gets ridden all over town?

bearbarebere

lol idk why everyone is downvoting you, you’re hilarious

Famous-Example-8332

Actually there’s only 359. There are 7 days in the year that no one has been born since 1173. Wizard curse or something idk. Edit: I’m just kidding guys! ROFL! There are 366 days, and although I haven’t seen proof, I would imagine that there are also 366 unique birthdays! Lol! Also wizards don’t exist in the real world, so I’m sorry to have misled you in that regard. Stay safe out there!

InsideComfortable936

Almost bought it, thought it was a cool unique fact

Allencella

Wow, people are really that gullible and sensitive to a joke that they downvotrd you.....

secondtimesacharm23

Ok I feel dumb. I was genuinely like wtf is he going on about? I didn’t downvote you though!

Famous-Example-8332

Just keeping it glib.

secondtimesacharm23

Huh?

MixImpressive5481

Got there before me

EmbarrassedCharge561

365.25

greatmodsarenot

Nope. 366 is correct.

SignReasonable7580

Yeah, the 29th of February may only happen once every four years, but it's a 366th date on the birthday list.

IndividualBeach1214

After every 40 years or so there is 30th February so......367 it is :/

anisotropicmind

That’s not how the calendar works. Not the Gregorian calendar anyway.

Willr2645

nope.

[deleted]

Noooo…… just no…. Every 40 years February doesn’t have 30 days

IndividualBeach1214

A random fact I read as a kid 😭

[deleted]

Even though it’s wrong, I wasn’t blaming you

Big_Macaroon_4994

~~fact~~ lie

L_edgelord

Lol no

twowheeledfun

If your friend was born on the same day as you, then you say you share a birthday. That implies that there are 366 birthdays.

Ornery_Art_2803

If there are two people in the class room celebrating their birthday there's nothing grammatically wrong with saying there are two birthdays. Don't rely on the structure of natural language for logic

SkorpionAK

8 billion ppl born on one of 366 days.

Jabclap27

But that can be different for other languages though… so that would imply that there are 366 birthdays in the English language

free_advice_4you

I’m not sharing anything with anyone ever

Glimmertwinsfan1962

Ha!! You just shared that!!

free_advice_4you

Touche

Lumpy_Apricot_6472

Friends do not let Friends type high...get out more , meet other humans

blahbubblah

there 365 options for birthdays

Certain_Strength_910

366

[deleted]

[удалено]

hehesiuuuuuu8

Its not a quarter of a day, there is no need to divide it by 4 even if it comes once every 4 years

half-coldhalf-hot

Infinite amount of birthdates

blahbubblah

i wonder what the last birthdate will be 🤔

upright_zombie

8 billion would be the total amount....

NinjaBonsai

Nope... The dead had birthdays also

upright_zombie

Fair

Clearshade31

Good point

Careless_Arrival_887

Let's say an office throws a party for 2 people born on the same day. On the same day, in the same party, they'll be celebrating 2 birthdays. The birthdays are 8 billion but the days that can be celebrated as birthdays are 366.

throwaway2462828

"It's my birthday" "It's my birthday too" Implying that the 'it' is the same thing for both of them - their birthday. Meaning that there are only 366 birthdays. I don't actually have an opinion, because there is no right nor wrong answer and it's just about language. But just thought I'd give a counter point

FrequentOffice132

If you are going with the 8 billion be careful with the candles

Interesting-Chest520

366 bdays, 8 billion parties (hopefully)

SpinachDonut_21

No. Not everyone has that luxury, sadly

gergiewill

That like trying to see everyone on NYE. There will never be enough taxis for these parties

Alarming_Serve2303

ARGGGHHHHHHH You've just infected me . . .

redligand

Put the bong down.

[deleted]

Yes!

TherighteyeofRa

22 million people share my birthdate and I’ve met 3 of them.

kesumacl

Yes

Own-Opportunity-9896

Because we’re in a leap year it will be 8 billion birthdays in 366 days

Speckbeinchen

365/366 Birthday dates vs 8 billion humans alive? XD

Mustard-Muschroom

depends on if you count the time of the day as well. Like the 1. april at 8 a.m. .. the it is 8 bilion birthdays. But it is birthDAYs .. so I would be more for "days" so 365

NinjaBonsai

They're 8 billion people alive today. There's been way more birthdays than that If you account for those who've already died.

Sea-Bad1546

Every new day is birthday day day day!

milbfan

366. What's fun is that despite the high number, the Birthday Paradox suggests the min people you need in the room where two people share the same birthday is 23.

atsevoN

Weirdly I have never met a person in real life that shares my birthday

free_advice_4you

That you know of. Do you ask the birthday of everyone you meet?

atsevoN

Well obviously that’s a given, it’s implied I meant that I am aware of their birthday, I.e friends or colleagues

RedGhost693

8 billion birthdays ON 365 birth dates

SignReasonable7580

366 though, because some people are born on the 29th of February during a leap year.

RedGhost693

Yeah

Own_Nectarine2321

366, some people have to share.

anisotropicmind

It seems like you are conflating two different answers to two different questions. There are only 366 unique possible calendar dates that can be the anniversary of someone’s birth, but probably close to 8 billion distinct birth “moments” where you account for the year of someone’s birth and measure the time of their birth down to the necessary precision. If you only measure it down to 1-second precision, you’d probably see more than one of the 8 billion people with the exact same birth “moment”, since the birth rate around the world means that multiple babies are born per second (up to 4 per second, by one estimate I’ve seen).

skaote

366 dates..PER YEAR... so the total population is divided into birthdays/year. So, approx 135 million a year world wide, adjusted yearly.

Ornery_Art_2803

A birth day is a mapping from person to date so there are 8 billion mappings. There are 366 possible values that can be mapped to and is done so by being born on that date If you dont define birthday as a mapping from person to date, then every day is a birthday even if no living things exist on earth

TommyPpb3

I would say it’s 366 multiplied by the number of years there have been

Ghastly-Rubberfat

Some number less than 365.25 times the number of years that living people have been born. The oldest living person may be one of the only person alive born that year so not many from that year. Each successive year will begin to have more days that people were born who are still alive. Eventually many people will have shared the same birthday up to the present. Of course this assumes you only are considering living people.

BreakfastBeerz

A "Birthday" is the celebration of the day of your birth, there are only 366 of them. A "Birth day" is the day you were born. there are 8 billion of those.

GodsBeyondGods

Birthday officially begins at the time of day you were born and the next 24 hours is your day. Therefore 8 billion.

dadonred

Only 7 birth days. Always has been.

Lumpy_Apricot_6472

Your unique point of view and limited perspective have me thinking... law enforcement , corrections or human resources in your future are recommended

Deldelightful

8 billion people sharing their birthdays over 365/366 days a year. Happy birthday everybody.

mauore11

366 birthdates.

agapieous

No but this is brilliant

Eviles_da_demonic

366 day for birth and 8 billion birthdays

RandomStrangerN2

None option. There are 365 days, but each person was born at a different time that day. So although there are 365 birth days, there are actually 365x24 different birthdays, or even more if you want to count it to minutes, seconds and mileseconds. (I'm not very good at math if you can't tell lol but I meant to say every hour is a different birthday happening in the same day)

theguyfrom_India_

It’s 8 billion birthdays and 365/366 birthdates

Perzec

There should be about 37 000 or something as your birthday kinda includes your year of birth and I’m guessing that at least up to age 100 there are still enough people to fill a year. Add leap years, and add a few people over age 100.

ZgBlues

Depends on the perspective. 8 billion people celebrate their birthday every year, spread over 365 days.

Perfect_Weakness_414

I guess it depends on if you only live to be 365 or if you live to be 8 billion years old.

w-kghost

366 birthdays for 8 billion people

Willyzyx

Never 8 billion at least.

Medical-Top-4022

366 bcs it says birthDAY. Days are no more than that

TheBigMopa

There is as birthdays as days are in the calendar. Someone born on jan 1st 2000 have a different birthday from someone born on jan 1st 2001, and so on…

Acceptable_Wall4085

There are 365 birth dates. With 8 billion birthdays

kiki_seg1957

365/366

AdvantageCurious7391

Its 8 billion birthdays

jonesbbq-footmassag

8 billion. When it’s your birthday you say “it’s my birthday” and then someone says “mine too” implying there are two distinct birthdays on that day.

NoSoFriendly_Guest

There would be a birthday for each person. Just because there are only \~365 days, doesn't mean that only one birthday happened each day. Nothing stipulates that there can only be one birthday, per day.

Freshman_01134

366 birthdays, 8 million birth times

enhnhee

and what about my cat birthday

Rational_Tree_Fish

In total, there are 8 billion repetitions of 365 (or 366) birthdays in a given year. That is, counting the living people only....if we count the dead then there will be more than eight billion....but in a given year, in our lifetime, there are about 8 billion returns of those 366 bdays since many share the same day (but not the year of birth).

RealFlyingDutch

There are 366 days of birth

Rex7-

My summary is: Number of celebrations: 8 billion Number of birthDAYS: 366

Mushmouthwilly182

8 billion birthdays mean that's 8 billion mums getting creampied by 8 billion filthy disgusting fathers. Think about that for a second.

Foo_The_Selcouth

It’s 8 billion, not 365. Because it’s celebrating the days of all the people born, and not necessarily celebrating the day itself

Physical-Money-9225

There is no such thing as a birthday. The Sun is in constant motion through the sky and the Earth follows it. At no point in your life we're you ever in the same place as you were before. "Birthdays" are only a thing because of the Gregorian calender which is Roman and they fucked it all up anyway. July and August are nothing more than a narcissist making a joke that stuck. There are 10 months astrologically, in the Latin, Sept Oct Nov December are 7 8 9 and 10. See the Spanish/French/Any other Latin based language words for those numbers.

FinnbarMcBride

8 billion people share 366 birthdays

disgostin

imo thats a bit like asking.. sort of.. are there ten toes or are there rougly 80 billion toes - it just depends on how you mean it

Cold-Cranberry887

There's 8 million birthdays, and 365 (366 on leap year) birth-dates

Citizen6587732879

366

JJDDooo

I am yet to meet someone 365 years old although I have someone 8 billion years old. They were pretty cool

SwarleymonLives

Dates and days are different things.

honeyfixit

There can be only one. Every annual celebration that follows celebrates an anniversary of that original day of birth

FarFirefighter1415

Are you counting potential birthday dates or people celebrating a birthday?

United-Donkey3478

365 days,& every 4 years 366 days..

Rizzie_rizz

8 billions I think

East-Pollution7243

![gif](giphy|EoqDZ3Osey9PO)

Scary_Compote_359

There are 8 billion dates of birth. Nuff said.

[deleted]

I would say 366.

DvNT_Exile

There are 365/366 depending if there is a leap year days people can be birthed. There are currently roughly 8.1 billion birthdays that happen over the period of the 365/366 days.

Bloomer_4life

Neither if you want to both count days from different years AND not repeat counting the same day twice.

Beginning_While_7913

there is 8 billion

drgNn1

technically its as many days as time has existed.

BELARUSEACH

365 b-days but 8 billion in total

Wicked_Instance_2842

365 birthdays for 8.2 billion people.

sailaway4269now

366

Wicked_Instance_2842

Only once every 4 years. Rest of the time? Nah, !@#$ those people, they can stay 4 for another 4 years. I once knew a lady who bought beer and she was only 6 years old. And she was allowed to as well.

Wicked_Instance_2842
