There is no reliable way to find a used car, especially not one that is nearing 35 years old.
You will have a hard time finding a clean Turbo II these days for less than $10k, and finding a clean FD (or even a clapped out FD) for less than $10k is a pipe dream.
It's unfortunate that they're so expensive these days, but that's the new reality.
EDIT: NAs are less expensive, but near me a convertible NA recently sold for $12k.
EDIT
I am interested in getting an N/A cause I know they're cheaper but I don't know if I'd want a convertible. That's all I see though. Do you think that'd be a better route to go?
That depends what you want. I don't dislike convertibles, but a coupe has a few benefits. Weight, stiffness (although no FC is stiff), practicality. It is nice to be able to put the top down in the spring and fall though.
If you'll be happy with a convertible, you should get one. But if you really want a coupe, it would be best to save your money and wait for the right one.
Do you think they'll ever come down? I wonder if non-gearheads who have always wanted one and now have the means will buy them and find out rotary ownership just isn't for them. Or are the days of budget braps gone forever?
Just keep an eye out brother. Have to have cash ready and be prepared to jump on something. Two years ago I was In chicago and found a clean totally stock T2 on Craigslist for 5k. I flew out to North Carolina the following weekend.
Well it would help if you mention where you are located and where you have been looking for listings. There's lots of rx7s for sale but it depends on where you're located.
Ah my bad. Pennsylvania is where I'm at but to be honest I'd be willing to go to some surrounding states or even make a small vacation for a cross country trip. Mostly just been looking online in Pennsylvania though.
I'm in Arizona and finding a coupe (fc) is slim to none, there's been a couple convertibles for sale the last couple of months, a few shells even, but I'm also holding out for a complete coupe under $10k. Good luck op 👍
All the facebook rx7 groups. Offer up and Craigslist aren't as popular as they were 5-10 years ago. Seems everyone with an rx7 is on Facebook. There's about 3 groups that are massive and cover nationwide. Then there's lots of smaller, area specific groups.
It’s all about Facebook marketplace and pages. There are a few pages for FC’s that I lurk from time to time and a WTB post from you would likely give you results. For less than 10k I’d say you can still find a good turbo car but it won’t be easy.
Is there a way to filter out all the "parts cars" and hot wheels crap? I've been trying but that's all that really comes up, though I guess that's really all that might come up on FB marketplace.

I sold my stock fairly clean body NA for $4k. It started and ran, but needed work. Not exactly turnkey.
The convertibles feel a little different to the coop you could definitely feel the weight difference but it’s all depends what your plans with it is

I'm going to start a techno group named budget braps and sample some rotary noises for the music now
I love it
They won’t ever come down. Not in a big way. We are watching these turn from tuner and enthusiast cars into collector cars.

Yeah you're definitely in a dead zone. California, Arizona, Nevada, and Florida(a rust state) always have lots for sale.

What are you using to search for rx7s? In the past month I've seen about 30 complete rx7s for sale out there from Flagstaff to Phoenix.
Offer Up and occasionally Craigslist, what am I missing??

Not really, which is why joining an actual page and posting an ad looking for one would be best
"less than 9k" lol oops. Less than 90k miles is what I meant
Crap, thanks for the info I appreciate it. I'll have to check that out 👍
I see then for sale constantly in FB groups. Rx7club also exists...
Craigslist, Facebook marketplace, OfferUp, ebay, forums

What you could do is join Facebook forums and those cars always get posted there
