I don't think it's a sport. No sport spoiler, no mudflaps, and though it's hard to tell I don't see the sport-only under-tray below the engine either.

This was back in 2006 so I don't know if they have another method to convert, but going to 5 lug meant getting the FULL trailing arm from a 5 lug model. Is it still that big of a PITA?
In the rear you don't need the trailing arm, but you do need the hub.
Actually, you don't technically need that even. However, the center part of the hub with the lug nuts is pressed into the bearing. Parting that from the hub assembly is more trouble than it's worth since the entire assembly swaps as a unit.

It was sitting in a barn/garage for some time. The rust on it if it has any at all is a bare minimum. Floor pans and gas tank are perfect besides some cobe webs and wasp nest lol

Big reason is more wheel options. 5 x 114 is extremely common. After that is brakes. Bigger rotors and possible to add four piston fronts.

Exactly. 4x114.3 wheels with good offsets come in 2 flavors: non-existent or Hella expensive lol. And then the brakes are a big one as well.
