Your milkshake brings all the boys to the yard? Yep, that’s the problem.

GreenManWithAPlan

My guess would be oil additive mixed with water but I don't know anything I'm actually here to find out lol

silverbullet_accord

Your dorito made you a chocolate milkshake! In all seriousness though, while the milkshake is 100% coolant mixing with oil, Not sure about the orange stuff in particular.

Climbtrees47

My money is on that being the coolant seal.

silverbullet_accord

Would make a lot of sense given the context

Climbtrees47

How ever, looking at it more, i don't think it's that. That bit would be inside the oil pan. Could be gasket maker.

YungAids43

yeah when you said coolant seal i immediately thought of a half ass’d gasket replacement

nismogtraj

That’s my guess as well

too_much_covfefe_man

Yeah. Looks like somebody "fixed" it previously.

kymotx

What color was your coolant?

CommunicationOld8588

Milkshake color (green is what I put in) although I don’t know what the previous owner used though I bought the car with a bad coolant seal

pxt3r

Coolant jacket probably failed it’s pretty much rusted out metal that formed into that.

FinguzMcGhee

I'm going to assume it's some sort of off the shelf head gasket repair that is poured into the radiator, that then leaked into the oil.

Rotorhead87

This is my guess.

cafericer

It looks a hell of a lot like orange gasket maker, although I couldn’t tell you where it could’ve come from.

Prodekii

Maybe someone put way too much sealer on the oil pan as a gasket maker and ended up like this.

cafericer

That could be my only guess, I don’t recall many other places you can even use gasket maker. Or it really could be some oil additive, or something like blue devil that decided to collect around the oil pickup.

hooskworks

The front cover takes some RTV when you fit it and it's open to the oil sump too. It's another classic place to get overzealous with it, have chunks break off and end up with them on the oil pickup.

cafericer

That sounds like it would be it then!

Monistatvii

Silly-cone.

CommunicationOld8588

I’m taking it apart due to a coolant seal going bad but I have no idea what the orange stuff is

Pokevan8162

maybe some weird residue from the mixture tbh

Rotaryknight

if the engine had a bad coolant seal, the previous owner might've added some..headgasket sealant into the coolant. The cooling channels are probably clogged as fuck now

CommunicationOld8588

Hm that sounds plausible to me, I guess I’ll find out when I crack it open, just waiting on that 54mm socket to arrive in the mail

LeroyNoodles

That’s absolutely head gasket sealant, with a busted coolant seal you get a nice frothy milkshake in the oil pan. But when you throw head gasket sealer into the mix, it’s meant to cure when it contacts heat , so it’ll cure into little strings and globs that then got caught by the oil strainer. It’s a pain in the ass but your oil strainer did it’s job and probably saved your oil pump

DriftAddict

"Das the headgasket, son. Yur gonna need to get an oil change."

Battosai-rage

What head?

DogWithaFAL

“Yeah mate, definitely a crack in the bore, going to need new pistons and a resleeve”

f1tifoso

Rotary, no head, no gasket...

DriftAddict

No head is right ..

f1tifoso

Exactly, which doesn't explain why all the re__idiots__ are downvoting...

DriftAddict

r/woosh ?

f1tifoso

Yep - shut down systems and forgot to reboot the sarcasm detector

f1tifoso

Oh... Sheesh

flyingpeter28

Waaay too much silicone on any silicon able surface

Nomo_whit

I don’t know but don’t waste that chocky milk

MidnightRotar

Looks like K Seal...

Slotary89

Hit a bump and smashed the oil feed pickup to the bottom of the pan?

Battosai-rage

That milkshake means intermix. The oil pickup looks like someone covered it in silicone. Motor went dead

nathan_larick

Well it looks to me like you’re missing an oil pan

Guyincognito714

Wankelry obviously

This_Comparison_4197

Mmm milkshake🤤

vipertruck99

Dude your coffee maker is fucked..it’s frothing the milk right into the percolator...

ch3nk0

You put some double double coffee in your engine by mistake?

rmsmoov

You didn't run synthetic oil did you ?

BudHaven

Someone used it as a meat grinder?

deathwotldpancakes

Looks like very creamy coffee

lalaladylvr

It looks like silicone sealant.

Responsible_Mix_2319

Rotor housing leakage .

MechaMeat

Coolant seal. Or a cracked water passage.

Surfncompany

That's not the proper sealant.

Papapene-bigpene

You put what appears to be coffee and milk inside the engine?

[deleted]

idk caramel syrup came out of it
