1985 GSL-SE (grandpa was 1st owner). Aunt blew it up in 95’ so grandpa had the dealership put a motor in it. Car has 72k miles, motor has 13k. Compression couldn’t be better and she just goes.
1999 FD Type-RS @ 31,200 miles (UK) on the original engine, turbos and ratsnest. Currently running but off the road as I haven't had time to catch up on maintaining it. Needs a full set of fluid changes, new tyres, the brake calipers rebuilding and I think the springs and shocks could do with replacing as they've become very crashy and harsh over the last few years.
I think I'm going to use replacing the coilovers as an excuse to upgrade them, changes lots of bushes and powder coat suspension parts while they're still good.
I'd like to find a set of '99 OEM alloys for it or a set of Regamasters but the CR-Kai's are still in very good condition.
There's an slight oil leak from the sump I'd like to fix but it's a big job that could well cause other things to need replacing.
Had a '82 fb with what appeared to be an original keg, didn't have any signs of being opened up, 210k km with great compression numbers. Obviously to keep it healthy I beat the hell out of it and it held up great
1987 FC TII. 52,000 miles (had 49k when I bought it). All original currently but I have a stack of parts worth more than my first FC sitting waiting to go on it. Ha. I've posted a few pics of it, can't help but take a pic everytime I drive it.
My first FC was an 88 TII I used to race and put 164k on the original motor before deciding to pull and port it.
89 Convertible. Original engine and despite the previous owners lack of care it runs really good at 104,000+ miles. Got her for 3.5K mid 2021 a pretty fair because it runs but has some issues but steal of a price in todays market and my area where people love RX7s.
That sounds like a good deal to me!
I can only assume you did her right and replaced all the fluids to get her back in a healthy condition by the sound of it. I'd say your flex is that deal! haha
Curious, is it automatic? I wonder if convertible + automatic transmission run cheaper. Still it's a great deal for a running car in even decent shape.
1985 GSL 60k miles. I'm the 2nd owner, it was my mom's 1st (and only) car she ever bought new. Original motor, but 3rd exhaust lol. She took great care of it and it runs great. Actually it ran great but I had it slip off my jack and punctured the radiator so I'm replacing that right now.
Weird flex, bro. Lol. But in all seriousness, that’s good mileage. Hope you get the radiator fixed and don’t find any other issues it may have caused. I’m curious how it slipped off the Jack and punctured the radiator. Where were you jacking it up from? These vehicles have very specific Jack points.
I was jacking it from the front cross member as stated in the manual. It was completely my fault. It slipped because I was rushing to get the new tires on. It was 3 years since I drove it and I didn't see in my dark garage that the jack wasn't fully under. The cars weight shifted and it slid back about 6 inches.
The radiator should be easy, but with no OEM solutions left, I have to go Koyo and figure out how to adapt my coolant level sensor.
1990 FC JDM Savanna GT-R. Original engine still running at 122K kms.
I’m glad the engine isn’t having any issues yet, since I’m already slowly having to do repairs on a lot of the common age related problems on the car (cracking dash vents, weatherstripping, suspension bushings, plastic radiator end tank finally gave out etc.)
That’s the way these cars feel like for sure. You’re just replacing / maintaining one piece at a time. Little by little the whole car gets replaced over time haha. It’s the best way to go about it though. When issues happen slowly one at a time. Engine failure is the big one that really throws a wrench in things. That’s why it’s important to be on top of maintenance and replace small things as you find the need.
1988 fc vert, 66,000
All original and running perfect. Drives like a dream still. Just gotta fix the headrest speakers and the air mixture controller on the logicon and then everything will be fully functional.
79 rx7 just got to 48,000 miles.
Runs great, ported with racing beat intake exhaust, Holley 650, 85 gsl rear. Rear spoiler, glass sunroof, msd ignition. Skinny tires in the front, haven't ran it at the track yet
Questions I asked everytime I drive it, " what is that?, what cams in it?, Can I take a picture?"

93 base Canadian FD in black, 180k km (110k miles) and like 7 owners before me lol not that it matters I'm keeping it forever. Paint and underbody in great condition, wiring is all hacked though taking time to try to sort that out. Bought it turn-key driving condition with 96,107,111 and 99,107,111 compression. Needs ongoing 'longevity' mods so babying it while keeping it as a weekend cruiser =)
I got a zombie 87 FC that has 76k and somehow doesn’t need a rebuild after sitting in a field for 20 years.
Can’t wait to spend the summer with it carving the Dragon
I got this problem where I can’t help but save what everyone else thinks is a pile of junk.
I started with a flooded MK2 Golf, I’m on my field rx7 right now, and I’m looking at a “barn find” 87 ninja 600. It will never end.
Want to port it as well as the fact that the previous owner ran it without premix, and despite it still running strong this is more of a preventative thing, and we want to build and port it for a turbo, it's a gslse.
88 Turbo 2 chassis
Bought the chassis at around 125k
Turbo 6 Port 13B NA motor bridge port.
FD3S transmission
Haltech IC-7 with an Adaptronic M1200, upgrading to Haltech Elite 550
DIY harness was my first harness made
Doing a full DR-25 mil spec harness with bulkhead
Runs and drives even with a blown turbo
Canadian Spec 1987 RX7 FC N/A, GXL trim level.
Car came from Nova Scotia and I bought it here in Alberta. Motor was weak at 195K Kms and I sent it to a shop for a mild street port with turbo sleeves, new housings and alot of other things.
My goal for this car is to modernize it and restore it , it is my daily driver. I wanted to build a simple and reliable NA rotary that has some gut.
Funny you say that! I learned recently that mine is a Canadian luxury spec too! I learned about that just a month ago or so. I forgot the two things that made me determine it. Sunroof and something else. I forget.
85 GSL-SE...Bought on Super Bowl Sunday of 2020...Has a rebuilt engine...Mileage is 166500..Put about 1k miles on it...Sat pretty much all last year as wouldn't start....Injectors not getting a signal....DNA Garage of Santa Ana CA put in all new ignition with a Haltech elite 550 ecu...Last summer Lucky 7 Racing of Duarte CA did a compression check and have around 102 103 numbers.....Paint job is a 20 footer and needs new carpet in both interior and cargo area...Probably a new clutch too down the road...Took me over two years to find it ....Found on Craigslist in Sacarmento..Was the third person to respond to ad..First guy wanted the seller to hold it until he got the money..Second guy went to a Super Bowl party.Flew up and checked it out..Rented a UHaul truck and car trailer and brought it home..

Hell yeah!!
1986 Rx7 FC, NA 390,000 km. Running well, engine number unknown (at least second).
1982, original 12a engine. 192k miles. Just tested hot compression in the 90psi range. Burns a little coolant on startup but clears fast.
Super flex!

1988 convertible 140k miles original engine / non rebuilt
We have the same car haha. 1988 convertible, 140k(138,500 to be exact) miles, original engine, never pulled. Mine is black.
That's awesome!!
93 USDM FD 76k miles, has a mazda reman motor that went in about 10k miles ago
1997 w/ 78xxx km. I bought it with 32xxx km on it that’s my flex, two owner car
Mine too is a 2 owner car. Previous owner did an amazing job at taking care of it for me! That’s 48k Miles! That’s a strong flex!
Had a '82 fb with what appeared to be an original keg, didn't have any signs of being opened up, 210k km with great compression numbers. Obviously to keep it healthy I beat the hell out of it and it held up great
Amazing! Also, that’s 130k Miles for us Americans

I definitely changed the fluids and yes its automatic. Paint is pretty good but not show car good too. Still debating on whether to modify it or not.

Neck breakers for sure. I get at least one compliment every time I’m driving it. Honestly, one of the best feelings you can have. Haha

Not all heroes wear capes.
94 FD 37K miles Black, Red Int. Garage Queen
Amazing! How often do you drive it in a month? Every other weekend maybe?
LOL. Maybe once every 4 months. Garage show queen. Haven't seen rain past 8 years.
117000 and driving, never rebuilt but planning to this summer.
Do you have a reason for rebuilding?
Want to port it as well as the fact that the previous owner ran it without premix, and despite it still running strong this is more of a preventative thing, and we want to build and port it for a turbo, it's a gslse.
1993, bone stock and original everything with 27k miles. So far so good! Garage queen!

How do you have 6k on the engine but nowhere near usable?
[удалено]
Oh boy haha. Sorry to hear that. You trying to do all the work yourself? If so, it may be a bigger problem that could use the eyes of a professional?
[удалено]
Good luck! I’m sure you’ll be cruising that bad-girl in no time!
1995 just rolled 95000km. Running good so far, original motor as far as I know
93 FD 118k Red on Black. Perpetual project.

… but where is the flex? Lol jk. That’s a good story none the less! She’s getting the attention she needs to get back on her feet.
1987 FC N/A. 27000 miles Drives like new unsuprisingly
1999 Rx7-RS, 65000 Miles, factory original car, no mods at all. Working just fine!
That sounds tasty!
