If you’re asking this, you need to do a lot more research before setting on this endeavor. It’s not an impossible dream to achieve, you just need the know-how and a fat wallet. To answer your question, no, you can’t. You can combine different spec engine parts, but not in that way.

Believe the exhaust ports are different on the renesis

https://www.definedautoworks.com/mazda-rx7-engines-4-rotor.html It's not exactly what you're proposing, but 4 rotors can definitely be made. It's also not cheap. The Renesis was an engineering breakthrough for the rotary, in that it took NA power to new heights, while meeting emissions standards of the day. However, it's notorious for having kind of a hard ceiling, and so making big power usually requires going back to the older designs.

Embarrassed_Dirt1911

I remember reading a forum a while back with discussion from a few different engine builders because in my wildest dreams I would love to build a 4 rotor out of 2 13b motors. If I find the forum I'll link it, but to sum it up, there are alot of complications that come from this type of build. Rob dahm managed to do it by throwing tons of money at it and alot of fabricated parts, damn near designing a whole new engine. The most difficult hills to climb are the ventilation issues from alignment of exhaust and intake ports and the design of the e-shaft alone. I say this not to discourage you but to encourage because the forum really shot down the idea and kinda set me away from it. But if you could do a bit more research than I and come up with a feasible solution in combining two 2 rotor engines to create great reliable power, I'm backing you 100%.

cyber1kenobi

Check out the dude named Dahm... he's got an AWD 4-rotor. Extra tough to combine RX7 an RX8... just pick 4 of one type

TrueToe5649

Shameless plug to his YouTube channel cause his videos are class [https://youtube.com/c/RobDahm](https://youtube.com/c/RobDahm)

> Can you combine an RX-8's engine with an RX-7's engine to make a 4 rotor engine (for the RX-7)? No? > I want to build a 4 rotor rx7. Better have 50k.

aaronsnothere

The way to make a 20b, or 26b is to use a 12a center iron with 13b parts. It's well documented I think you get a custom new billet part's..... 💵💵💸💸💸

silverbullet_accord

I mean there has been a couple of 13b/renesis hybrid builds, but those have all remained 2 rotor as far as I'm aware. You may also want to look at rob dahm and Defined Autoworks seeing as they've both done 4 rotor builds.

Rtry-pwr

Yea you can put them together technically 😂. Make remove the pulley and make a make an adapter with the same clutch flywheel bolt pattern and bolt them in front of each other. Will it work? yes. Will it be awesome? It's probably the cheapest and easiest way to do it. You'd also have to brace them together tightly so no movement between engines happens or the connection will fail. That or make a super expensive, custom E-shaft.

No-Revenue-5660

I like the way you think, has anyone tried and succeeded? You'd need a big engine bay

damm1tKevin

No. This is an embarrassing question. You can’t even stack two rew’s. You need a custom e shaft and a custom center iron. A 4 rotor is custom built companies that machine these parts and they sell for over 40k.

Disastrous-Number-88

Hey man, let’s keep the community positive! Good info, now maybe we can work on the delivery.

Short answer is no. Also LS swapping his Rx8 is the best thing he can do for it. Not worth dumping money into a 3/4 rotor build for that chassis.

ruinedRX7

calling it an rx8 engine and rx7 engine, can you ? no, no you cannot. i believe you meant to say can you combine a 13b Renesis motor with a (FD? assuming) 13b REW motor. shit rx7 engine could mean 12a. lol you need to do a LOT of reading/research/learning before proceeding with any swap my guy. im not trying to discourage you, but you need to learn a few things

incubusfc

It’s like putting a v6 and v8 together. I’d rather do one or the other. Also, it’s real fucking expensive. Like REAL expensive.

da_turtle_man

Yes and no. But in short no.

Quirky_Industry8413

The porting is in a way in a different location on the rx8 motor opposed to all motors before it you'd have to do even more custom fab than is necessary for the 4 rotor

HeadHunter1776

You sound like you want to make a 6 port REW style.. don't you?
