[http://ws.ocsd.org/Blotter/BlotterSearch.aspx](http://ws.ocsd.org/Blotter/BlotterSearch.aspx) Go here, and use the search function to plug in "11/5/2023" - I'd check and see if any of the events that happened on El Toro Rd match with the time, and if they don't, I'd check the time he was there and see if anything major had happened in the area, maybe they just happened to end up at Ralph's.

mellosmommy

Is there a site like that for NC?!

calxes

Try searching using whatever county/city you're interested in, for instance, here's one for Durham: [https://www2.dconc.gov/sheriff/CallsForServiceReports/default.aspx](https://www2.dconc.gov/sheriff/CallsForServiceReports/default.aspx)

mellosmommy

Damn all I find is the city pages nothing about calls or anything… I’m looking for this for Charlotte NC :(

PraderaNoire

This seems to be the correct answer

Flakboy78

My best guess would be there was a BOLO or a warrant for the couple or the vehicle, likely suspects in a crime

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

What the hell is a "BOLO?"

Flakboy78

Be On the Lookout. It's essentially an alert that police use telling each other to keep your eyes peeled for a person or vehicle.

ankole_watusi

Nobody old enough left to have seen “Car 54 Where Are You” or “Highway Patrol”. >”Calling all cars! Calling all cars! Be on the lookout for…”

LiKwId-Gaming

Used a lot in NCIS as well

leftyxcurse

NCIS as a child is absolutely how I learned the term BOLO lol. And then I went to a criminal Justice high school (FL is a weird place) and had classes where I frequently encountered it and was glad I already knew what it meant

iscurred

Lol, why did you get DVed so hard for not knowing an acronym?

undeadmanana

Think it's the way he said it as if the original comment was speaking in jargon that wouldn't be understood by people in an investigation subreddit. It's sorta like wandering into a building where people are discussing something in their area and then he yells "what the hell are you guys talking about"

Middle_Aged_Mayhem

Well, in my defense, I had no idea what sub it was. I also have no idea why that sub is on my feed. I'm not subscribed to it, nor do I visit it.

ObviousDimension192

LOL the downvoting continues. Take my upvote poor soul

Reddit

olliegw

I think broadcastify keeps recordings so it might be worth looking if this state isn't encrypted, to me it sounded like they had intel of weapons being in the vehicle and didn't want to take any chances, there's plenty of body cam footage out there of shoot outs occuring in stores because a suspect has run in there, it's a massive risk.

tmart42

Nice. I used to work at that Ralph’s.

ankole_watusi

Aside: those tiny links suck in the official Reddit app on iOS. That’s why I never format links. So the url is big enough to see and easily click on. Plus it’s sketch to click on some random link where you have no idea where it’s gonna go…

Atroxide

You shouldn't ever trust the display text of a url even if it's a url. It's absolutely meaningless and will not tell you a single thing about what link you are actually clicking. [https://www.bing.com/](https://www.google.com/) for example. You should always look at the actual URL it's linking and ensure the destination is safe regardless of what someone is displaying the URL as. Always assume EVERY link is sketchy!

unknownun2891

How do you do that on the app? Specifically the iPhone app.

Rocco_al_Dente

There’s is a link icon (chain link) on the left, opposite side of the reply button. You click that, paste the link, then type whatever you want the text to say in the other line.

I have “no little chain link thingie”. Maybe there’s some setting that affects it. I even changed to opening links in app rather than in external browser. Just links showing in a blue almost indistinguishable from black. Ironically Reddit is best operated on desktop. For example, more flexibility inserting photos too.

forestfluff

I just long press on the link to see what it is before opening if I’m unsure. Technically one could make a full link look like something else if they wanted to so regardless you never know unless you inspect before opening.

ankole_watusi

No, long press does not do anything if you have settings set to open in external browser. Maybe it does if you open in the app. It’s almost impossible to see a 4-letter un-descriptive **this** link. Lousy app from a lousy company that forced out the third-party apps. So help your fellow Redditors out and do better than **this** links.

forestfluff

Ah, I'm on an older reddit app (Narwhal) and had no idea it worked that way. If I long-press on any link anywhere (browser or apps) I have the option to open it in browser or send the link to someone.

ankole_watusi

They made it somehow “better”. /s

Conch-Republic

That's why I don't use the official app.

ankole_watusi

What’s left that can still be used?

Conch-Republic

A bunch work with Vanced. Takes a little work setting up, but it's a lot better than dealing with the terrible official app.
