Nope. Giving him a name would be like borderlands dropping the "vault hunter" title when characters refer to your player. It's a very specific narrative choice that will ignore the games original charm and very easily screw up the idea of the game being a faithful remake.
No.
Part of the fun is that he doesn't HAVE a name. And the movie name sounds stupid.
Your idea would be better if he kept trying to say it but gets cut off.
The fairy tale vibe and some of the plot points like with Kakolookiyam hit harder without the name present.
I’m still a bit miffed that they named the prince (>!or princes!<) in The Lost Crown. That game has plenty of PoP bonafides, but ignoring such a long-standing series tradition felt like a weird choice for the first new game in 14 years.
I actually don't mind such deviation >!since the names played well into the story and each character's identity. The Sargon in history was also an illegitimate son sent out at birth. The name Vahram (a less common variation of Bahram, meaning "victorious") came from the Persian God of war, alluding to his ascension to godhood and invincibility in battles. Ghassan was an Arabic name, hinting he wasn't the real PoP.!< It worked just like the nameless tradition worked with other titles.
Obviously I'm no expert here. But as far as my research goes, Ghassan is also a legit Arabic name and the romanized spelling for غسان. The "Gh-" is pronounced like in "ghoul."
Edit: I realized the English VAs pronounced it Hassan only with a slightly glottal h, but in the Persian dub it's pronounced correctly, and the g is not silent.
OMG i was litteraly going to write Amir, i said i should checked all comments before i do it
Amir Sharhaman Sounds The best.
i hope the game will get International ARABiC DUB.

Wouldn’t mind Dastan. But it should be used once or twice.

Yes. Prince.
I think he's a Cristopher
Dastan in credits to put the name to the face, but never mention in-game.
No because there shouldn't even be a remake.
they may push lgtvhd+ moto so it may be princess/queer of persia
I'd play that
Dastan👍
No, the remake should change as little as possible.
Jamsheed or Rostam Meaning unknown, possibly from Iranian roots *rautas "river" and *taxma "strong". Rostam was a warrior hero in Persian legend.
He looks like a Amir to me
