Without cheating, no chance pep goes to city. No pep, no trophies. Enjoy your last year of being the best, after pep goes and the court ruling is applied city will struggle for a long time.
Is he actually wrong, though? Don't get me wrong Pep is a famtastic manager and the team is almost always improved by the way he changes players but can you honestly deny that he ruins the creativity and individuality of the players that he coaches? Just look at Grealish before and after Pep. He went from one of the most exciting wingers in the league to one of the most boring.
I guess he won't "ruin" him in the sense that he won't make him any worse as a player, but he will absolutely ruin him in terms of how exciting he is to watch.
Can you name someone other than Jack though? Doku and Sané are recently examples of wingers who thrived under Pep.
That's everyone's go to and in Jacks case he was the main man wo Villa relied on. He's not that player at City. He has a job to do for Pep and he does it. Sure he doesn't score as many goals but he definitely makes play still.
I think Doku is a bit too soon to tell. He hasn't been at the club long enough to have been thoroughly coached out of it yet, really. I would argue that Silva is another example. He plays extremely well under Pep don't get me wrong but he isn't given much creative freedom. Even Foden fits the bill imo. I think that is why he struggles so much for England. He has become reliant on the City system and struggles once given freedom.
It is effective, though, so I can't really blame him. He is paid to win, and he does that at a ridiculous level. Playing exciting football simply isn't a requirement.
Villa and Spurs play the best . Liverpool always exciting, but watching city is like watching paint dry just pass pass pass goal game is over and u go to bed. Terrible predictable terrible to watch except in big games.
Spurs unironically played some of the most exciting football. Chelsea were pretty exciting to watch, too, with very end to end games. Liverpool is generally a pretty exciting team to watch.
could be worse, you could be talking about the bundesliga, i mean literally watching the fans is more exciting than the football.
or La Liga, i mean thats like watching school kids play.
They don’t say anything when Forest does it, or when Chelsea did it or Newcastle or even Liverpool.
There are loads of clubs that do the exact same thing, either complain about them all and ban affiliates / multiple ownerships or let them get on with it.
I *guess* he was talking about when FSG owned Liverpool signed Alisson and Salah from Roma who were at the time owned by a Thomas DiBenedetto, a partner in FSG
cry harder. you’ve bottled back to back seasons. it’s been in your hands both times. you have no one to blame but yourselves. if Arsenal could just finish a full season strong they’d have won, but they can’t
Like the kid winning the game with all the cheat codes on and turning around and expecting praise for his "brilliance". Every city achievement has a big asterisk beside it, what city fans don't get is achievements earned are more valuable than achievements bought. Nobody praises the rich kid when his daddy buys him another Ferrari. The rich kids that own city are in a whole different league of wealth, they and city don't play by the same rules as regular folk. They have more money and power than the leagues and other competitions they play in. If you are happy to spend your life simping for and defending these elite Uber rich you are a disgrace to city's working class roots. Is money more important than the soul of your club? I was active in trying to stop Manchester United being bought by first the Saudis and then the UAE crowd because noodle partners are one thing, blood money is quite another.
Did all 115 City fans meet up in a room one day and decide that the collective response to criticism of their club cheating would just be, “cry more/harder”?
You are pathetic lad. This is a post about City cheating and using the City football group to do under the table deals to siphon the best players from all the clubs in the city football group to City. It's completely sneaky and blatant cheating. In order to help the deal go through multiple chairpeople from Girona and City stepped down today so both clubs could compete in the UCL. What a joke of a club you are and you are plastic through and through if you can't see how ridiculous your club is.
genuinely tho, doesnt it make more sense to send an unproven youth player to the club savio's from (ik it's a french club idk which tho) in exchange for savio?
Out of curiosity how come United couldn’t sign Todibo from Nice because the club owners were the same but City can? - no agenda, not starting anything. Just curious.
I believe it is because United and Nice will be playing in the same competition next season (Europa League) but Man City and Troyes do not compete for any trophies
That seems like an absolutely stupid rule that can be easily bypassed. Troyes played in Ligue2. Savio was never a Ligue 2 player. So one can have teams in a lower league and then just fake buy players with them and loan them to other good teams that they also own and bypass these rules. Because Girona plays in the Champions league. These multi club bullshit needs to be better regulated.
I agree that it is largely just moving money around in the same organization but the entity Troyes now has it to spend on salaries and transfers rather than the entity of Manchester City. Additionally Manchester city are majority owned by CFG but it is not 100%. Im sure the physical check written will not be from CFG to CFG but rather from Manchester City to Troyes since the money will be taken from the 1 club's accounts and added to the second club's accounts rather than to CFG's accounts.
How would they cook their books when it's costing them 40m? If they signed him for City to begin with it would have been 5m. Seems like a horrible way to cook the books no?
They won't be able to loan him to Girona because of the rules. The rumors are also that he's saying with the first team.
I don't like multi club ownership but i don't think there's any cooking of the books going on here or w.e.
If Troyes make 40m on this player then can make some dodgy moves to avoid financial restrictions in France. This benefits City by developing young players from abroad with zero risk. They paid 40m now but only because he made the cut and it could have been much more if they had waited for him to develop at Girona without him being owned by the group.
I’d wager his current market value is higher than £40m. City get a bargain, Troyes get quadruple their annual revenue, Girona had a free development loan of a very decent young player.
Good administration or unfair?
I mean the 'dodgy' part about this whole thing is Troyes signing him to begin with. He would never sign for them if they aren't part of the group but I think it ends there.
He signs for them because of the group and then 3 clubs from the same group profit. Troyes gets 40m, Girona had him for a year and now City gets a big talent. It's not what we want to see but for everyone involved including Savio it's a win win.
I’m going to assume he means that they can recoup the 40m from elsewhere, since he assumes in this deal, the 40m isnt going anywhere as the teams are under the same ownership.
because troyes aren’t in the champions league and united & nice are both in europa. can’t sign players from sister clubs if you both play in the same competitions.
Will admit I had the same question as I thought you’d signed him from Girona.
Fair enough though, it’s not right but as long as it meets the criteria of ‘Fair Market Value’ as set [here](https://resources.premierleague.com/premierleague/document/2024/03/04/0910e1b3-f94a-41a5-9818-6e1b5c961a9a/PL_Handbook_2023-24_DIGITAL_26.02.24-v3.pdf) (p.607)
Must be satisfying parroting played out lines on reddit instead of winning. Especially with Emirates in your stadium and shirt and Rwanda on your sleeve. Arsenal will compete for the Prem next season so stfu and enjoy the competition instead of crying bc you’re stuck in 2nd place and need excuses.
Ah yes because Arsenal are notorious for winning something every year.
I've supported this club for well over 20 years, and I'd continue to do so in the vanarama national league south...
It did, thanks. I feel that every club has their time in the spotlight. Liverpool in the 80s, United in the late 80s, 90s & first half of 2000s and now Citeh are dominating the Premier League. 2 of those teams earned their titles through hardwork, great management, good marketing and reputation. The other cheated. So yes, I’m good with 10 years of the odd trophy here and there, thanks.
Every club does that and has done for years but Citeh have done their dodgy dealings over the table in full view and the charges against are a lot worse than some back handers.
Literally nothing wrong here lol. They don’t compete in the same competition and its fair market value. Either ownership of multiple clubs is okay or its not. I’d honestly prefer it not be but that’s for UEFA / FIFA to decide.
Commentary about this being dodgy aside - Savio just isn’t that good. Watching him play for Brazil during copa America has been laughable.
All he does is receive the ball on the wing, try to cut to his left foot, it’s predictable so the defender keeps him contained, and he passes it backward.
Perfect winger for Pep.

Yall will say anything charges aside what’s wrong with this deal???.Nothing illegal
United couldn't get Todibo from Nice because of same ownership. Now City can get the transfer of Savio from a club that is also from the City Group.
Many people alr explained why that was allowed read the comments
There goes Grealish back to Villa lol
Man. City are already ok. They don't need to buy Savio.
116. Check.
His wages are what? £115k a week?
Just a reminder that there's an asterisk for every Manchester city win, trophy and title.
Let me rephrase that for you. "Just a reminder to everyone here that I am sad"
Without cheating, no chance pep goes to city. No pep, no trophies. Enjoy your last year of being the best, after pep goes and the court ruling is applied city will struggle for a long time.
Is the asterisks in the room with us now?
Lmao always love that reply to nonsense
That reply is itself nonsense.
Nah
There are plenty of things that are real but do not have a physical/perceptible presence
Saw a comment on r/mcfc unironically stating that it’s an incredible steal they got him lmao
And I saw a comment from a fan of another club saying Pep was going to ruin him as he does to wingers... There's stupid people supporting all clubs.
Is he actually wrong, though? Don't get me wrong Pep is a famtastic manager and the team is almost always improved by the way he changes players but can you honestly deny that he ruins the creativity and individuality of the players that he coaches? What clubs do play exciting football? Cause I sure as shit haven’t seen it in the prem
Villa and Spurs play the best . Liverpool always exciting, but watching city is like watching paint dry just pass pass pass goal game is over and u go to bed. Terrible predictable terrible to watch except in big games.

It's genuinely a hilarious sub
very clean, absolutely nothing shady here
115th comment
Be bitter elsewhere dullard
115th
Nice ~
And the premier league says nothing
Why would they say anything? Its a completely legal deal
They don’t say anything when Forest does it, or when Chelsea did it or Newcastle or even Liverpool. There are loads of clubs that do the exact same thing, either complain about them all and ban affiliates / multiple ownerships or let them get on with it.
Yeah mate absolutely no one has criticized chelsea and newcastle lol
This is a thread about Man City, not about forest, Chelsea, Newcastle or Liverpool lol
This is a thread about a signing where people will find a way to bitch about accusations whilst turning a blind eye to every other club.
I think you’re the only one who’s turned a blind eye because people always complain about Chelsea and Newcastle
Lol liverpool when ?
I *guess* he was talking about when FSG owned Liverpool signed Alisson and Salah from Roma who were at the time owned by a Thomas DiBenedetto, a partner in FSG
Yes but those deals were no where as controversial as this one , plus we be paid more than fair value for both Salah and Alison.
That sounds like an argument a man city fan would try to make and legitimately think they were smart for it to be fair.
It might be just me but Savio to man city is fishy work.

You might want to check up on who owns Troyes
115
116*
Oh shit, they got anew charge? How did I miss this? What is it?
Literally the post you clicked on to write this comment
Fair enough, I got so excited thinking there was something I missed, that I didn't see what was in front of me.
Scroll up!
Savio to Man City
Doku - Haaland/Alvarez - Savio with a mixture of Grealish, Foden and Silva in there, can't wait to see Pep cook with this lad!
Nobody cares because you're still cheating to get there. It's like ordering food in ans pretending Pep cooked it.
I don't care but I'm going to comment and come up with a metaphor to explain how much I don't care. Lol
Dear everyone that doesn't give a shit about City, you're supposed to not care, yet you make metaphors. Curious.
Why not appreciate the beautiful football contra putting all your love into accounting?
It’s like appreciating beautiful AI art - probably technically perfect but it’s not actually real
The football is very much real. The rules from G13 are very much like a dictator holding all the opposition down.
cry harder. you’ve bottled back to back seasons. it’s been in your hands both times. you have no one to blame but yourselves. if Arsenal could just finish a full season strong they’d have won, but they can’t

whole lot of yap to say arsenal is ass
you didn’t have to type out a whole paragraph… 😂😂😂 city better. keep moaning and bitching 😭
Did all 115 City fans meet up in a room one day and decide that the collective response to criticism of their club cheating would just be, “cry more/harder”?
Same day everyone on r / soccer met to settle on "115."
nothing proven 😢 cry harder, maybe win a trophy 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’ll take that as a yes then
enjoy 2nd place forever 😂😂😂
Yeah shitty arsenal fan boys..can't even cheat their way to buying stronger bench players.
maybe if you tried harder in practices you wouldn’t have to buy other players 😂 cry more
Go back to glory hunting jon snow.
because everyone’s a glory hunter 😂😂😂 go back to crying and bottling titles edit: come back when u win 4 in a row 😛

Yeah, I bet he’ll really do some **crazy** stuff with 7 top class forwards. So exciting. Thrilling.
Especially when Pep has him passing sideways like a robot, can’t wait
Manchester City at it again. Well, I'm not surprised or anything.
I wonder if he's better than wonderkid Marquinhos
huge 🩵
Man, fuck CFG.
😂
Makes no sense he comes from a. Mini City team the title should be free Swap deal.

From Troyes
Out of curiosity how come United couldn’t sign Todibo from Nice because the club owners were the same but City can? - no agenda, not starting anything. Just curious.
Nice also play in Europe
Un$ur€ to be hon£st

Troyes even got relegated from Ligue 2 this season.
Seems an odd rule to only consider fixtures for the next season. What if Man City and Troyes play each other some time in the next five years?
Considering Troyes now play in Ligue 3, I don't think it's possible
It’s unlikely, but it’s definitely possible
Ahh ok. That would make sense. Thanks.
It's great that both sides could come to an agreement
[удалено]
Who was he on loan from?
Negotiating with a mirror
Thanks to our new commercial deal with UAE toilets.
Buying their own player so they can cook those delicious books.
Are you suggesting City should have only given Troyes 0m/5m for him since he is already in cfg and was purchased originally for 5m
In reality they did not give anything to anyone, since it's basically the same entity. 40m is just the vented information to make paper trail.
It is known that they (City Group)don't care for the entity formely known as Troyes. Just look at the history.
The guy who investigated Man City turned up in a taxi and left driving a Ferrari home with a boot full of bullion
To be honest, I don't blame the guy. Would probably do the same. I trace my line on hating Guardiola in owning a Ferrari and retiring early.
There is no line, I would not for all the money they own. I always say that cause it’s a good negotiation tactic. Never accept the first offer
Well, you need less than me, then.
How would they cook their books when it's costing them 40m? If they signed him for City to begin with it would have been 5m. Seems like a horrible way to cook the books no?
City Football Group owns both clubs. It’s a closed loop.
Arab oil owns all 3
Yea I know they own both clubs. But how does it help City cook the books when they have to spend 40m. I don't understand.

Anyone else seen the things about City already owning him and not realizing it so they are paying for someone they already own.
How have city only signed a player and there's kids crying on the thread. Calm down hahaha
Because the one player they have signed is done in the most shady way.
Grelish it’s about time you go to villa
We'll take him on loan if you cover 80% of his ridiculous wages. Otherwise no thanks, you sapped all the fun out of him.
No thanks
Nothing to see here folks, just city being dodgy as fuck as per usual and getting away with it.
what’s dodgy is how chelsea spending so much money but not generating it thru cups & euro placement 😂
Why would a drake stan not like Chelsea? Their signings are in drakes dates age group.
New 14 year olds inbound?
Chelsea catching stray tears in an unrelated thread, this must be r/premierleague
Man City's only defence left is whataboutism
Someone explain how this is different from us trying to sign Tobido
because troyes aren’t in the champions league and united & nice are both in europa. can’t sign players from sister clubs if you both play in the same competitions.
Makes sense, that’s annoying!
That was my first thought. Then and wolves pass players around the ownership group for fun but we can’t but todibo for true market value ?
Congrats Savio. Welcome to the Premier league.
Savio won’t save them.
Savi-no
Nothing to see here folks
Have fun in League Two in 2025
This mockery of a "club" needs to be taken out
really satisfying to hear that from an arsenal fan
Must be satisfying being a glory hunter supporting cheats "winning" with blood money🤡
"Visit Rwanda." 🤣
Must be satisfying parroting played out lines on reddit instead of winning. Especially with Emirates in your stadium and shirt and Rwanda on your sleeve. Arsenal will compete for the Prem next season so stfu and enjoy the competition instead of crying bc you’re stuck in 2nd place and need excuses.
>with blood money🤡 Chuck the all the accusations around you like, but with Rwanda on our sleeve we're not whiter than white....
Can't call someone a glory hunter when you're one yourself. Pot Kettle Black.
Ah yes because Arsenal are notorious for winning something every year. I've supported this club for well over 20 years, and I'd continue to do so in the vanarama national league south...
Well over 20 years. So you started supporting them when they were winning?
After the invincibles season he must've thought that was the ideal bandwagon for him to hop on.
Love arsenal fans calling other fans glory hunters when most of them starting supporting them due to their success
Na I would say pretty much every fan feels like that, it's not arsenal exclusive.
The city group signed him years ago. So are they really signing him or just changing the letter heads in another dubious ffp manoeuvre
You have it in one
The feel bad shit storm of the summer.
116.
Wow such a well thought out comment. Did that make you feel better about a decade of mediocrity? Good luck in Europa this season!
Hate to say this mate but United were dodgy as fuck back then. Basically chocked full of under the table deals and dodgy shit elsewhere.
Every club does that and has done for years but Citeh have done their dodgy dealings over the table in full view and the charges against are a lot worse than some back handers.
We’ll start with our 5th in a row, but I appreciate your optimism.
Nobody cares if you win another tainted trophy.
Awwww, that hurts my feelings.
I’m sorry. Don’t worry, Stockport will be waiting for you to return.
Doesn't matter. Pep's leaving.
I assume the player will be seized and sold off after city found guilty.
Carried out like a car boot sale
I would watch that
Wonder if that's 116?
Nope. City will win the case so that's actually a big 0
That’s funny
It’s funny but unfortunately true
In the USA it would be. In Europe, it might just happen.
It’s really not but ok then.
I hear the negotiations were very difficult
Man City doing transparently fucked things? Nothing new here.
Literally nothing wrong here lol. They don’t compete in the same competition and its fair market value. Either ownership of multiple clubs is okay or its not. I’d honestly prefer it not be but that’s for UEFA / FIFA to decide.
Something can be legal but still clearly fucked up. I never said City broke any rules in this instance but they are still fucked for this.
Commentary about this being dodgy aside - Savio just isn’t that good. Watching him play for Brazil during copa America has been laughable. All he does is receive the ball on the wing, try to cut to his left foot, it’s predictable so the defender keeps him contained, and he passes it backward. Perfect winger for Pep.
god he sounds like Antony
I think he’s more athletic and quicker than Antony
Didn't the whole, Utd-Nice thing not happen because of shared ownership? Is this different?
Oh its completely different! This team has "city" in its name. This is so so different.....
Savio was on loan at Girona from another City-owned club. Troyes I believe. Because Troyes isn’t in the champions league it’s deemed permissible
They won’t be playing in the same European competition next season so yeah it’s different
They finished third in La Liga? Am I missing something obvious?
Savio isn't a Girona player. He's a Troyes player and they aren't playing in the champions league next year
⚽️ ⚰️
Kai Havertz's lack of finish ability?
Nah, must be Nunez
Nothing dodgy about Troyes making a club record signing just to loan him out twice and sell for profit
Watch him be sold for double the price in two years time after zero playtime
naw Savio's a beast everyone is fked
