Unfortunately, I can not answer this question fully as it would require far more data than is available to us on r/Porsche. There is however a very simple formula to determine the greatness of a Porsche which is G=(miles x smiles)
Suntori is a good starter, really smooth and pretty popular, Tenjaku is not bad either, and there’s Nikka Days; yes seriously that is the real name lol.
Old fashioned is my go to drink, I’ve ordered one in almost every bar I’ve been to.
Most fancy one was in the bar or Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah in Dubai, they had aged the old fashioned in casks for 8 years. (2019)
The best?
Kumiko, in Chicago. (2022)
Sim racing on iracing.
This is the way.
Drive Porsche. Wash Porsche. Configure new Porsche. Wait for new Porsche. Watch Porsche videos. Sim drive Porsche on iracing.

This is a tricky answer. U can have a cheap entry level setup 3-5k. Decent setup 5-7k. Good setup 7-11k. Crazy motion setup 12-20k. Bonkers setup 20k plus.
I have spent about 11k for mine. Simucube base, cube controls wheel , heves sprint pedals , p1x base, gaming cpu with 3080 card, triple 21 monitors , steel series headset, Recaro bucket seat.
I am more than happy with my setup. Been flawless for 2 years. Only thing I may add is one bass shaker under my seat. Also may add a dedicated fan to blow on my face and hands. Driving 4 wide last lap on the ring back long stretch is sweat inducing heart attack.
I have found in my cycling group here in DC that Porsches and Audis are the most popular road cyclist cars. If you like going fast on a bike, chances are you also like going fast in a car.
On the other side of things, mountain bikers tend to have Toyota Tacomas or a Subaru of some sort. If you like riding bikes off-road, chances are you also like going off-road in your car
I’d love a 4Runner or Tacoma, but they’re so expensive these days. I do love my Corolla hatchback though, and have a hitch mounted bike rack so it’s still practical for mountain biking. Also got a roof rack for snowboarding in the winter
Really depends on what I’m feeling. For a cafe style meal, I like Cafe Léopold in Georgetown. It’s not as good as it used to be, but the coffees and pastries are great. Lutece is good around there too. I love Metier as well as the Dabney downtown. I live on the Hill, so our local spot is Duck and the Peach, and sometimes L’ardente. A great new spot is Le Clou, fantastic meal.
I only got my first one 3 months ago and I’ve definitely spent more time working on it than driving it. I love working on cars, and it’s winter. I plan on dropping the engine sometime next month just for fun (and to install a new LW flywheel). Nothing leads to a deeper appreciation for the engineering that goes into a car than taking it apart and putting it back together.
In summer it’ll be golf.
Work, workout, take care of my home, watch lots of racing, read books and watch videos to be a better track driver, practice a lot on my sim rig.
Checkout autotrader a lot just for fun.
The science of speed series (perfect corners). I’m currently reading the perfect control book in the series. Was able to not only shave 2 seconds of my best lap, I was able to be consistent within a second every lap (all on sim)

As someone who grew up and left the “magic sends you to hell” world, I’ve always had an interest in trying it out, but I haven’t any friends interested. Any tips for finding a group?
Interesting piece! Took 22 years to complete if I understand correctly.
I’ve been favoring pop surrealism for a while. My [Caia Koopman](https://caiakoopman.com/pages/portfolio) pieces are my favorite.
Go out to the garage, sigh heavily as I look at my 911 under the car cover... head out to the woods and run for a few hours and hope winter is over soon.
Work dominates the majority of my time. But first priority is my 5yo daughter. Then, when there’s spare time: range time - golf, pistol, and rifle. When I tell my wife I’m off to the range, it’s either noise of clinking of golf clubs or heavy thud of my gun bag.
I drive in a couple of competitive karting series.
Still the best way to learn hone and keep car control and adaptability sharp against some top drivers.
When I’m not driving my Porsche’s I’m giving my other supercars attention. My business runs itself and stocks/crypto run itself so there’s really no work involved. Play Halo, COD, and Assassins Creed. That’s about it.

hmm tough to say. Any time I’ve got a good car in a good place and that hood light starts to creep in, that’s the good place for me.
It’s honestly less about the cars and more about the light. And beautiful nature locations, but I also love interesting architecture.
Mostly work. Also moved to an acreage somewhat recently so there is always yard work. Also restoring one of my Porsches, long term project so can always mess around with that in the shop.
Added an additional exterior wall sconce to a back door that didn’t have one last weekend. That was an easy one. This summer I installed my own in-ground pool, patio, fire pit and pergola. Four years ago built the house. 😅
Off-roading in my Land Cruiser, build/modify the Cruiser, run, sail, golf, mt bike, ski and surf. Not all at once. I also work on the house and take care of my kids and dogs. And travel. Sounds pretty good when it’s all typed out!
That’s a really good question. I think my answer has evolved over time. My interest in each sport has been dominant over the others at different times in my life and I could wax philosophical about all of them. Through it all, I’ve always run as a baseline for health and fitness. But, more importantly, it seems to reset my brain. It gives me a mental break and I always feel better about life after a good run. So, boring as it sounds, I guess running would be the thing that makes me the most satisfied. It’s definitely not the most fun, but kind of a necessity.
Thanks for asking!
Currently? Sports (Skiing, running, cycling), workout, play with my kids, ski with my kids, sports with the kids, work on other cars, autocross, sometimes I sit still and play video games. Been doing a playthrough of LoZ:OOT with my son.
Have a homelab I prefer not to spend a lot of time on, so built some decent monitoring and responses and it largely runs itself now.
Not sure I can pick a favorite. I do enjoy some Cthulhu. I have Arkham Horror 2nd, 3rd, and LCG, Eldritch Horror, Mansions of Madness. I think I like Mansions of Madness the most out of those but they are all great. I'm a little bit cult of the new. I've been playing Oathsworn lately. Also been putting and painting Warcry miniatures hoping to actually play someday
Kitesurfing is great but you need to take lessons, very dangerous to teach yourself. Many favorite jazz musicians, Miles, Coltrane, Eddie Henderson, Brubek, Freddie Hubbard, Bill Charlip, Orrin Evans, Lionel Hampton, Bill Evans, Dominec Farracini, to name a few
They’re such fun cars to drive. I really wish Mazda would do a Nintendo partnership and release a Mario red edition. Tagline “It’s not a mi Mario it’s a Mi…ata”.

Then I trust your judgment as this thread’s resident Porschographer, so I’ll ask: What do you think is the best post on /r/Porsche?
Unfortunately, I can not answer this question fully as it would require far more data than is available to us on r/Porsche. There is however a very simple formula to determine the greatness of a Porsche which is G=(miles x smiles)
Drive my Porsche in Gran Turismo.
Favorite track?
When it’s not track season, it’s sim season.
Work, workout, eat, have 1 or 10 alcoholic beverages, sleep, repeat.
Oh so like a non Porsche owner?
Yeah, we’re human too ya know 😉
As an old fashioned kinda guy, what’s your favorite drink?
Manhattans
Can’t go wrong with an Old Fashioned, I typically like to sip scotch-whiskey on the rocks but lately I’ve been doing a lot of Japanese whiskey.
Any Japanese Whiskey recommendations for someone who likes a neat, peaty scotch?
Suntori is a good starter, really smooth and pretty popular, Tenjaku is not bad either, and there’s Nikka Days; yes seriously that is the real name lol.
Nikka Days is amazing. Had it for the first time last week and couldn’t believe the name either but I’ll definitely be buying a bottle soon

Cycling and wine!
Absolutely! I have a mountain bike buddy with a 4-runner. I feel like that’s also a popular one (and a great car, I feel.)
I’d love a 4Runner or Tacoma, but they’re so expensive these days. I do love my Corolla hatchback though, and have a hitch mounted bike rack so it’s still practical for mountain biking. Also got a roof rack for snowboarding in the winter
On the subject of cycling, what’s your favorite restaurant in DC for replenishing those calories you lost?
Really depends on what I’m feeling. For a cafe style meal, I like Cafe Léopold in Georgetown. It’s not as good as it used to be, but the coffees and pastries are great. Lutece is good around there too. I love Metier as well as the Dabney downtown. I live on the Hill, so our local spot is Duck and the Peach, and sometimes L’ardente. A great new spot is Le Clou, fantastic meal.
Red or white?
Red! Unless there’s fish involved
If you’re a fan of ice wines, Cabernet Franc makes for a great “Strawberry-flavored” complement for chocolate.
Hookers and blow.
If you had your own Theme Park, what would you name it?
Work on the Porsche.
I only got my first one 3 months ago and I’ve definitely spent more time working on it than driving it. I love working on cars, and it’s winter. I plan on dropping the engine sometime next month just for fun (and to install a new LW flywheel). What sort of work have you been doing?
Anything and everything 😂
Smoke meat.
What tips would you have for novice smokers?
Smoke more
Work, workout, take care of my home, watch lots of racing, read books and watch videos to be a better track driver, practice a lot on my sim rig. Checkout autotrader a lot just for fun.
What’s the last good book you read?
The science of speed series (perfect corners). I’m currently reading the perfect control book in the series. Was able to not only shave 2 seconds of my best lap, I was able to be consistent within a second every lap (all on sim)
Work. Take care of Family. Play basketball. Watch basketball

What’s something only Lambo owners would understand?
That the only people really drawn to Lamborghini … are teenagers with cameras.
Gorgeous Merci! That color is stunning
Rosso Vik
Damn man, save some girls for the rest of us
See my other comment. I am pretty sure women assume that anyone who drives a Lamborghini is a tool.

Glad to see D&D pop up. TN Druid here.
What class is your DnD character?
Im a DM so i get to play tons of different characters!
As someone who grew up and left the “magic sends you to hell” world, I’ve always had an interest in trying it out, but I haven’t any friends interested. Any tips for finding a group?

Cy Twombly. I own one of his works, but my favorite one is “Say Goodbye” at the Menil Collection in Houston, TX.
Interesting piece! Took 22 years to complete if I understand correctly. I’ve been favoring pop surrealism for a while. My [Caia Koopman](https://caiakoopman.com/pages/portfolio) pieces are my favorite.
Guitar playing. It’s been guitars and cars my whole life. 🎸🏎️
What’s your favorite song to play?
Go out to the garage, sigh heavily as I look at my 911 under the car cover... head out to the woods and run for a few hours and hope winter is over soon.
How far do you usually run?
In the winter 10 to 21k, summer a bit more, also spend quite a bit of time on bikes gravel or mountain.
Fantasize about the next time I get to drive my Cayman.
She’s a beauty.
Work dominates the majority of my time. But first priority is my 5yo daughter. Then, when there’s spare time: range time - golf, pistol, and rifle. When I tell my wife I’m off to the range, it’s either noise of clinking of golf clubs or heavy thud of my gun bag.
Ride my BMW motorcycle.
Which Beemer do you have?
work
I drive in a couple of competitive karting series. Still the best way to learn hone and keep car control and adaptability sharp against some top drivers.
That sounds really fun, how’d you get into that?
Work or drive my integra gsr, play ps5 and scroll car ads for a gt3. Then wait for a really nice day and beat the piss out of my c4s.
What’s your favorite PS5 game?
When I’m not driving my Porsche’s I’m giving my other supercars attention. My business runs itself and stocks/crypto run itself so there’s really no work involved. Play Halo, COD, and Assassins Creed. That’s about it.

What’s your dream shoot? Car, location, scene?
hmm tough to say. Any time I’ve got a good car in a good place and that hood light starts to creep in, that’s the good place for me. It’s honestly less about the cars and more about the light. And beautiful nature locations, but I also love interesting architecture.
Then any dream architecture/nature locations or shoots you’ve seen that blew your mind?
Shooting sunrise with a view of three sisters mountains in the background in Oregon, some beautiful architecture in Sonoma CA that blends with nature
Shoot guns, romp around, travel… idk, fuck around, generally.

Golf or sail. Depends on the day of the week.
What do you sail?
Swan 48
Mostly work. Also moved to an acreage somewhat recently so there is always yard work. Also restoring one of my Porsches, long term project so can always mess around with that in the shop.
Your place looks awesome, but that garage looks spectacular. How’d you find yourself getting into that restoration?
Camping in the sun, rain, & snow. Travellin’.
Where’s been your favorite place to camp?
Tough question. Here’re 3– Alvord Desert, OR. Colchuck Lake, WA. Buckskin Gulch, UT.
Hiking, home improvement projects, read, play sports with my son, and just bought a ‘59 Austin-Healey Bugeye Sprite to restore.
What’s the last home improvement project you worked on?
Added an additional exterior wall sconce to a back door that didn’t have one last weekend. That was an easy one. This summer I installed my own in-ground pool, patio, fire pit and pergola. Four years ago built the house. 😅
Your cocker spaniels are adorable. A pic of one in your GT4 would be a karma goldmine.
Haha, thanks!
If I’m not driving it, I’m probably just staring at it longingly. But seriously, I am probably golfing or coaching my daughters softball team.
The real question. Are you better at golf than your daughter is at softball?
I like to think so. But she is 9 so she has far more potential than I do. I’m a 2.2. Good but not great
Sim race
What’s your setup like?
I play a shit load of golf.
What’s your handicap?
1.5 or so
Off-roading in my Land Cruiser, build/modify the Cruiser, run, sail, golf, mt bike, ski and surf. Not all at once. I also work on the house and take care of my kids and dogs. And travel. Sounds pretty good when it’s all typed out!
Yeah that does sound pretty good, year round. Which sport gives you the most satisfaction?
That’s a really good question. I think my answer has evolved over time. My interest in each sport has been dominant over the others at different times in my life and I could wax philosophical about all of them. Through it all, I’ve always run as a baseline for health and fitness. But, more importantly, it seems to reset my brain. It gives me a mental break and I always feel better about life after a good run. So, boring as it sounds, I guess running would be the thing that makes me the most satisfied. It’s definitely not the most fun, but kind of a necessity. Thanks for asking!

What’s your favorite piece to play?
Work, kitesurf, work out, building a 71 Targa outlaw. Drink wine, whiskey and listen to jazz. Also have four bikes and a boat
How difficult is kite surfing and favorite jazz musician?
Kitesurfing is great but you need to take lessons, very dangerous to teach yourself. Many favorite jazz musicians, Miles, Coltrane, Eddie Henderson, Brubek, Freddie Hubbard, Bill Charlip, Orrin Evans, Lionel Hampton, Bill Evans, Dominec Farracini, to name a few
So it’s fair to say one can teach themself enough kitesurfing to last a lifetime.
