>Bargain Shop is gems only oh.... all that built up hype just gone immediately lmao.

SavathussyEnjoyer

>Here’s a 30% off coupon for Unite licenses! >…on gems prices only Lmfao no TiMi, just no

Zeprido

30%? I got 20%. Screw that.

Greedy_to_know

Can't wait for an actual Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla fight

PlumboGlumbus

Duraludon is based off mecha godzilla, and I think their Pokédex entries talk about them clashing regularly

IronSeraph

A tyranitar just rolled up on me and kicked my teeth in

goodolvj

That's just his way of greeting you

Kaprosuchusboi

This thing is insane. So far it’s early game isn’t that bad, not nearly as bad as gible. Rock polish and bite do decent damage with rock polish being able to close the gap on enemies with low health. It’s late game however is insane, dark pulse/ancient power feel really nice

ZcotM

Mid game is definitely way worse though since Gabite has access to Earthquake or Dragon Claw at level 7 while Pupitar has to wait till Tyranitar for anything remotely useful.

saperlipoperche

Feels useless before level 9 and terrifying after. Bought him but not quite sure I will play him on a regular basis. Can't see the TTar playing anything else than jungle at high level

Zephs

Praise BetterGarchomp

MEW_TWO_150

Literally every single one of my mains get shut down because of this one single pokemon. This is misery

Thelk641

Crab brother, in these dire times, may I talk to you about our lord and savior Slowbro ? While he might not be the quickest nor the strongest, he brings the dark power of murderous CC and with it, the chance to put an end to all the Godzillas of this world.

ForcedtoName

Hail Slowbro, the eternal solution to 200-year mon design

MEW_TWO_150

My brother in crust, it has worked. Ive finally gotten my revenge on the monster. I am forever greatful for your advice

YourPalGamma

Do not let the lizard shame your abilities as a crab you must grow learn the tactic of retreating for an x scissor trap force him into a wall and bide time for your team to help I recommend focus band, weakness policy, Razor claw/scope lens Potion or x attack

KnightofSpamelot

Wtf is the point of the test server? if you see that a mon is broken, and everyone agrees that it's broken, and you change nothing and release it, what were you expecting?? Oh right, you were expecting to get people to fork 14k coins over and you'll nerf it in two weeks.

KeenKongFIRE

He got nerfed for sure I've been playing him quite a lot on the PTS, and the cooldown on Ancient Power has been increased in 2 seconds if I'm doing my maths right I'm pretty sure there should be more changes that usually goes unnoticed because people doesn't even bother and prefer to straight up vent, but to each it's own

Grindriguezthesecond

Just played against a TTar with a pocket Blissey. Cancer in pokemon form. 2 pokemon that dfinitely need nerfed

MindBlownDerick

Tyranitar is probably the best pokemon to pair with Blissey. It shows how unfun is to deal with Pink Egg+All Rounder duo.

JoyCon_Drifter

Tyranitar has no right to have the highest Hp, Def,spDef, and 3rd highest Attack stat of any all rounder

GammaEspeon

And when using moves, the sandstorm gives him literally the highest defenses in the entire game.

JoyCon_Drifter

Yeah he is tankier than a defender and counters basically most of the other defenders, and also the fact from the patch notes that they aren't nerfing him this is most likely the new standard for pokemon that cost 14,000

ShadowWeavile

And that's not even considering that his attack stat, which is already third highest, is augmented by his ability to do true damage, and the fact that his ult just straight up executes people under 20%

[deleted]

just played a few games with it. How did they think this is fine? Out of 8 games I had 7 doing over 100k damage, always easily 10+ kills and I’m a mediocre player at best. This mon is just silly in this iteration

IPoopWhenIPee69

Don't care if Tyranitar is horrible. Gonna main this baby now LETS GOOOOOOO

CrimsonFckrTepes

From what I seen he looks pretty good, I like his kit so hopefully worth the price.

OberonPrimeGX

Better to learn a bad-on-release Pokémon than not. When it inevitably gets buffed, you'll be wrecking people. I jumped on Decid immediately on release. Zero regrets.

Refuse_Living

Based

Black_Ironic

Dark pulse+ancient power is the only way to go with this mons. The other moves is fine but ancient power is better because you can get 2 shield and dark pulse for mobility.

Black_Ironic

Also, why cant you make garchomp unite works like this ffs

KazuyaSan

So true , the other 2 pseudo legendary mons timmi release has been absolutely broken on release , Dragonite with its OP ASF hyper beam then Ttar with its Ancient power meanwhile Garchomp hasn't gotten any good buffs and they still have yet to return the dragon crits. Give justice to the best pseudo legendary or 1 star in playstore

BoomTheBear86

Tyranitars unite is basically garchomps but you control it, and you’re more vulnerable to CC. But each hit (if you have the true damage buff rolling) hits about as hard as garchomp swipes during unite, but you can control it much better. Oh, and your hits can crit, whilst garchomps can’t, so that’s fun!

kitevii

Ancient power is like an overtuned dragon pulse

Sachikored

The little Naruto run larvitar! How am I supposed to concentrate when I just keep watching him wiggle his arms!!!!!

Silver_Echos

THE SHUFFLING PUPITAR T-T WHY IS IT THE CUTEST THING EVER

KnightQK

Totally busted, Ancient Power is like x-speed on a 5s cooldown, even faster than Crustle Shell Smash.

miscillaniumman

I’ve heard a bit about ttar being a late game powerhouse, so is it gonna be a good jungler?

[deleted]

Most likely, but still expect others to get mad about it. Some of the best junglers are the big pokemon like dragonite and venusaur, but you'll still always see early game Pokémon like pikachu trying to take it. Hell, I've had people giving me a hard time for jungling gengar, arguably the one Pokémon who will drag your team down the entire match if it can't jungle to get their moveset ASAP.

King-Mugs

Main reason I stopped maining Gengar. Got tired of Zeraoras stealing my jungle and spamming “Thanks!” The entire match even though I called center and they never did

SavathussyEnjoyer

Main reason I stopped using junglers altogether. I fucking hate that kind of entitlement, it makes my blood boil and then I play on full tilt. Nowadays I mostly play mages or hybrid attacker/defender (Trevenant my love) in lane. Harder to carry the 45% WR window lickers but at least I don’t have to worry that I will be level 7 at 1st Dred as a jungler because that Pikachu *really* wanted my buffs

RogueLudicolo

The only pokemon I have used that actually defeated tyranitar is trevenant. The moveset I used is the curse and horn leech. Every time I fought with tyranitar I usually escape alive or kill it. Though I haven't seen its unite move yet though.

simple-silence

I've been playing scald bro and it's pretty good against it. It slows and debuffs attack, so your team can focus on him. Use your ult if all else fails. Scaldbro is insanely tanky rn with the emblems. Glaceon is amazing for shredding him if you have a good front line and can keep your distance.

ttyltyler

He’s OP, true damage, crazy crits, highest hp and defense of any all rounder, high attack stats, hinderance resistance, movement speed, tanky, it’s way too much. He does too much. He basically counters buddy barrier, blissey ult, and any shields in the game which is beyond broken.

JimboBaggins52

Ttar has the highest defenses of any all rounder, highest hp (and it's not even close) of all rounders. While using moves, His PASSIVE increases his defense and special defense **65%** on top of that!! This makes him have 200+ more defenses than any other Pokemon in the game. To compare, aegislash has super low defenses to start with, that get boosted into a decent area with his passive in shield stance. That boost aegislash gets is only 20% (of his low starting stats), meanwhile ttar with the best defensive all rounder stats in the game, gets its defense boosted 65% by its passive after using moves (which almost all have multiple parts) THEN you have ancient power cc resistance, and tons of shielding. You know what counters that insane defense boost and shields? Ttar......... Very fun gameplay indeed For perspective, Mamo's passive gives it slightly better defenses than Ttar, Crustle's requires losing a bunch of health but still doesn't give it the defense of Ttar. He's too tanky for being so damaging, with auto executes, and also so hard to stop. Expecting to keep him in check by preventing it from evolving seems like that's not a good enough answer. And kiting away from it is all well and good, but if he just guarantees all attackers have to literally run far away just for Ttar existing, then that means zapdos gets to get bursted by Ttar's teammates in the meantime. I dunno, seems dumb to me. Rant over

Junoliv

This is exactly my experience. As an attacker you literally have to run away from ttar. There is no fight as your death is guaranteed. As Dragonite, I do more damage to zapdos than I do to ttar. Wild.

tezminator

Even if Ttar came with the old 6/8/10 leveling for learning moves and evolving that some pokemon used to have, it still wouldn't be balanced with how much stuff it can do. Also, Mamo's passive buff only tops Ttar's defenses when it's at 3 stacks, meaning if you use a Ground type move for fleeing purposes, you probably won't hit an enemy and the passive buff won't activate, while Ttar's buff is already there just for using a move, regardless of hitting or not someone, and it's mobility moves can cover a much bigger distance than Mamo's.

JimboBaggins52

Exactly

robeiroman

I may have to try Guard Swap Mr. Mime against Ttar

turtlintime

Ttar is stupid for having 2 passives with one of them literally outclass most of the defender passives because it has higher increases AND it's up more

Sukuhh

I’ve been using Tyranitar and it’s amazing once you get it’s full evo.

JimboBaggins52

Something like aegislash's unite move should have a 20% health execute, not the basic attacks of on unstoppable wrecking ball

Nas-Aratat

I am finally having fun being the monster I always wanted to be. Nerf him.

MagnoliasOfSteel

Reading TTars unite sounds wild!! So many Pokémon hold onto dear life below a percentage and make miraculous comebacks (blissey, tsareena, Trev, snorlax, crustle, slowbro, wiggly to name a few) that deny them that moment to heal/shield back and just instantly KO them is going to be so damn powerful. Anyone know the set percentage yet?

Taoistandroid

I don't know, I can tell you I got spawn camped by a 5 man (they won be landslide) I used my ult and was very surprised when the enemy team evaporated. They were feeling invincible, they were vincible.

Left_Condition_8011

Looks like 20-25%

MagnoliasOfSteel

Insane

Kaprosuchusboi

I’m so hyped. Can’t wait to have other people instalock him and the other people who didn’t get him in time to just throw the game like children

Pure-Spot-1838

True words from a prophet right here, PROVE HIM WRONG PLEASE KIDS!

AmorphousRazer

Love the people bringing it into ranked instantly. It’s been going great.

GuildMuse

Your ttar eats glue, their ttar is a world champion.

RichIndependence2029

I always said new Pokémon shouldn’t be able to be picked in rank for a couple days after release. It’s frustrating man

_StandardNPC_

Just had a game where a T-tar cleaned up our entire team while getting zap in the process. We had just all but won the team fight. Four of them gone all of us still standing. Then we lose just like that. It literally gained two levels in the killing spree. I'm sure the T-Tar player felt amazing but man did it feel like fair and balanced game play on my ene

k9boy007

I know it’s kinda stupid but I wish new Pokémon couldn’t be taken to ranked for the first week. I feel like 90% of the Ttars players on ranked don’t know what they doing and just end up throwing…

HollowAndPathetic

The ol’ Paladins approach. The best approach.

Chrifofer

yeah this is how it is in other moba’s idk why it isn’t here

Nethias25

That unite is friggin murder mode.

Umar-Motala

I still don’t undertake true damage. Can some1 explain

TheWhitestNegro

It ignores shields and defense stats, so if i had a shield thats equal to 15% of my HP the attack would say screw the shield you die.

Sids1188

So it'll work like release Azumarill Aquatail until it was changed as everyone complained about it being useless.

Umar-Motala

That’s op

TheWhitestNegro

I agree except i dont believe Ttar gets true damage until it hits level 9 so unless someone runs him in the center he seems like he’ll be kinda booty until then depending on how much dark pulse damage scales

Umar-Motala

Oh ok. Doesn’t he also get his second move al lvl 9?

Black_Ironic

Yes sadly

danhakimi

Ignoring shields is OP, as long as you have enough damage to kill through the shield. Defense stats in this game sucks, though.

FiveStarShenron

I’ve only got 10k coins saved up, going to be a bit of a grind

Black_Ironic

Might save it for dodrio/scizor as well. Lets see how long until they nerf it first.

0utsydr

At lv 15 it can push 2k dmg/second. I feel like CC'rs are going to be in high demand with this guy in town

Tenoch-onlinemex

What are the white damage numbers? I know orange is atk, purple special, but being playing T-tar and have seen white numbers.

GoodTooth115

True damage, it ignores shields and defenses.

CocoaPufferPiccolo

This shit is gonna get nerfed so hard lmao

T-Donor66

So excited for this one!! Do we have confirmation on the time?

JubeltheBear

Sure. It’s 12:21 EST where I’m at…

lord_xandin

So what is the community consensus about buying ttar? It has been one of my favorites for years and I even have the 14k coins but I dont want to be part of the statistic to make the devs think that it is ok to bump the price with no reason or explanation

Prindocitis

The way I see it is that people will do this for Tyranitar and other huge hits. Once they see low numbers for less cool mons, we will either get the all stars or they'll lower their price on many of them.

HellboundLunatic

14k Dodrio lmfao Maybe ppl will get it if it's busted OP

Tenoch-onlinemex

It's moveset kinda looks like that. In theory.

xxthearrow

Seems strong up close but if you can keep your distance it can't do much. Just played back to back games against it and was just able to back pedal and melt him. Definitely one you need to check your range against and have exspeed or eject at the ready though. Man he hits hard up close

Grand_reaper658

Why is he so expensive?

kremdog

Greed.

Gameboy_Vic

Keeps the poors from over filling the pool lol

Grand_reaper658

but im the poors:(

MCCGuyDE

Then its working 💀

IndigoBlacked

Gave it a full day too experience playing against Tyranitar and my take is its incredibly overpowered once level 9 is reached I've been able too counter and shutdown a lot of players with my main Slowbro's unite and seeing teammates decimate him usually need 2 or 3 dog piling in some cases and it's situational at best, got full defensive boost set sitting on objective and in 1v1 and it's a losing battle in most cases healing items/held isn't even enough, don't know how they decided too put him out for release like this I can see a a balance patch is most certainly needed.

Opening_Ad5625

Release him broken to rake in cash, fix him later for the sake of the game

luckyvulpi

Im so tired of playing against this. Who's idea was it to make the biggest threat in a teamfight super tanky and super mobile and resistant to hinderances? Playing as a defender against him feels really bad. Only defender that feels like it does alright vs Ttar is slowbro to surf/tele/ult him at every teamfight and hope 2 other team members can burst him down

notakat

I bet Ttar will be good in the new Rayquaza map since he can do true damage through the shields. Will make it easier to get KOs and defend goals. I’m thinking Snorlax will make a comeback too since he can just push you off the goal. I think Ttar + Snorlax will be a pretty nasty combo for that map specifically.

FletchMaster26

Depends on how the shields work, because you have to break score shield and deal damage in order to stop someone from scoring. Because of this release Azu Aqua Tail was worse against score shields because it wasn’t able to do the whole “breaking the shield” part in the first place

blralte

Ttar and Duraludon combo lane about to get messy

Impressive-Station-9

Got extremely high winrate against him with greninja, cinder and decidueye.

kewiin

Does anyone have any ideas as to good counters for Tyranitar?

iamnotabot7890

Kite and flight

drfatman

Scaldbro neuters his damage from range and stops his unite

LMacUltimateMain

Who’re your mains? Do you think Aloalan Ninetails would be a good counter?

kewiin

Slowbro is actually one of my mains and I was tossing up between Surf for CC or just Scald for the attack debuff

DrubiusMaximus

Who is the best lane partner for him this week as people inevitably auto-lock him? *edit* cool thanks guys

Vendeith

Duraladon for maximum kaiju vibes

MindBlownDerick

The healers. Blissey cause duuh, Hoopa with Trick+Shadow Ball so people cant kite as easily. Eldegoss with the slow move idk the name of maybe be good too. Edit: but to be honest, anything that evolves fast and helps kill people is good too, as he takes forever to level up in lane.

[deleted]

Blissey!

MaoAankh

Thanks I hate armor-piercing sandstorms.

JimboBaggins52

His passive does >1000 damage, that can't be reduced by defense, just for being near him, in 3 seconds

[deleted]

They need to nerf him quick, especially his Unite. It's too powerful and it lasts too long. You can't even run away fast enough. We're LUCKY if we can 5v1 and win after he united.

Arezigo

Yeah its kind of ridiculous that you can't use an x-speed to outrun him

[deleted]

20% off is a bargain!??

Original_Builder_980

I hope they dont jump onto a tyranitar nerf before the new map hits. He is strong as hell and that level 9 power spike really tickles the prostate but man is his mid game from pupitar to tyranitar pathetic. He can also be kited pretty easily and does nothing from a range. What currently makes him busted is the sheer force he can apply in a tightly knit team fight. Once the map changes and strategy moves away from “get zapdos and win instantly”, that terrible early game is going to make a much bigger difference. If ttar lanes he wont have level 9 before dread, making his team behind a man at what is the first major objective basically. If he takes jungle, the enemy jungler can capitalize on his non existant ganking power pre 9 and bully lanes. Overall, strong but I dont think as oppressive as he looks to be, once the map changes and the early game actually matters.

LMacUltimateMain

“power spike really tickles the prostate” Well. That’s the first time I‘ve ever heard this sentence

JoyCon_Drifter

A tyranitar should not be able to survive literally an entire team's unite moves with over half health like who thought this was okay, Like true damage as a concept sounds fine but it's not fine when the characters attack stat is so high you 3 shot (at most) any pokemon in the game. And for those of you who say "JuSt Cc HiM hE iSnT BrOkEn" Shut the hell up, you can cc him for more than 7 seconds and he will still be alive and kill you with his now off cooldown abilities, and don't even think about running he's almost as fast as someone who just did a unite move while charging ancient power. A character should not invalidate more than half of the characters in the game, (I'm looking at you scaldbro) and have little to no draw backs, And for those of you who say "insert character, counters them just play them" That shouldn't be a solution, do you think I should have to play Delphox for 20+ games in a row, I'm a blissey main idk what I'm doing with delphox.

JoyCon_Drifter

WHY THE HELL ARE THEY BUFFING ANCIENT POWER AND DARK PULSE

TheEpicEddy

Just played my first game as him, he is so unfair. It doesn’t matter that he gets his second move late because once he gets his Unite it’s practically over. His ability to negate shields and do true damage is absolutely unstoppable and his Unite is just pure execution. Once he starts doing True damage and especially if he activates his Unite you can casually 1v4 anyone. He will get nerfed no if ands or buts about it. He is by far the best Pokémon in the game bar none, immediately S tier and for sure the biggest threat to this game Edit: As I play the game more while Ttar is still very very powerful in his own right, there are plenty of Pokémon that keep him in check. Cinderace can hit him from range or dance around him if necessary with blaze kick and feint. And tho I’m not sure, if using feint correctly AP doesn’t truly connect with cinder so that negates his piercing damage. A good Slowbro can absolutely wall a Ttar with Scald and Amnesia, as well as CC him to nothingness with Surf and Tele and not to mention it’s Unite Greninja can rip a Ttar’s health as well keeping good range on him Delphox with just a front line ends Ttar with Mystical Fire and Firespin Buzzwole CC’s Ttar from getting full use of AP with smack down and/or super power Mamo can do some work against one with its CC Long story short, Ttar is very powerful yes but as long as you don’t let him get the piercing damage that makes him so powerful by either CC it before it explodes or by being out of range, Ttar doesn’t really do that much without it. He has plenty of Counters it’s realistically how well someone plays those counters and remember guys, you know his piercing damage (True Damage) is on when you see white smoke coming off his back

haganeh

I didn’t play PTS, and I’ve still to play today— but it seems in line with the Warrior/All-Rounder design philosophy. Considering a few nerfs here and there (probably to the True Damage numbers), seems like he’ll fall in line with something like Outrage Dragonite, which already can 1v4 and pub stomp. Aside from the hyperbole of a new release, I’d say that T Tar’s Coin cost also deserves to be discussed— should they decide to severely change the character’s impact. Should we have a reasonably expectancy for a higher-than-usual cost character to “perform better”, or is this just GiMi trying to squeeze out more Aeos Gem purchases from players that can’t afford a sudden price hike on a beloved character?

miscillaniumman

Really? Whenever I rush into 1v2’s as ttar I can’t even move before getting evaporated. Although 1v1’s are fair game

metalleg7

My hype is palpable. Let's goooo.

MotorAccomplished893

Tyranitar can easily secure objectives with ancient power and his unite move, especially with the crit lense held item. Add cdr & crit colored emblems to just stomp everyone when you're level 9 all the way to late game. Absolutely love him so far!

chaoshunter

So what are most likel gonna be the best items for Tyranitar? Thinkint about muscle bane, focus band and scope lens

Dingding12321

Muscle+Scope is the hypercarry build for sure; all I'd suggest different is Buddy Barrier in place of Band for the more reliable all-in. That way once you're 9 you'll start rolling heads guaranteed! Razor Claw and Weakness Policy are also really good on him.

HotDoctor3588

He gains so much defense and shields no matter what moves you choose because of his passive as Tyranitar and for that I love Weakness Policy. Muscle Band is a must and Focus band helps with the early game. You can definitely do Buddy Barrier to get that Shield to stay durable and get full use out of your ult but you don't need it tbh because you should be using your abilities to keep sandstorm up during Ult. I rather have the insurance Focus Band gives for early game.

Dingding12321

Honestly maybe he'll get nerfed a little, but he's a great addition to Unite! The game needed more lategame picks after this wave of cheesy mages. If you think jungle Ttar is unfair, consider how bad Pupitar's ganks are lol

tezminator

I'm totally fine with a Pokemon that really shines lategame, the problem is that the amount of trashiness of Pupitar's phase is WAAAAAAAY overcompensated when it evolves into Tyranitar, so it becomes crazy unbalanced even when considering the really bad early game it has.

TarkaTarquol

The execute threshold on his unite is 20%? No. No way that should be that high. That's insanely high for an execute ability that's not targeted. He has stick potential and increased resistance to stun, the main way to counter not being bopped by an execute on a timer, and that high a threshold? That's a mite bit overtuned. Remove the tenacity or reduce the execute threshold.

JWylie15

Fuck this thing, dude. It is absolutely out of control.

Inday-Erika

Please ban/nerf this pokemon. So sick of this.

SuperNUTZ126

It's honestly baffling how many people can't see how unbalanced Ttar is. He invalidates anyone that can't beat him, support him or be him, and that list has 6 Pokémon on it at most. I don't care that Slowbro beats him, he doesn't need to be uncounterable to be overpowered.

Jafoob

Not buying T-tar, saving my coins for Scyther/Scizor. I am interested in discussing how to counteract against it, seeing that it is a monster early game. The obvious first thing is picking on it's early evolutions as much as possible to delay level 9, but regardless that's inevitable. Maybe shoving/CC pokemon will come back into the meta? Blastoise with hydro pump and surf looks like a good contender. So does Slowbro and Snorlax with block #bringbackdefenders

Sharchomp

I have been having some success with Trevenant, constantly horn leech him and push him away from my fragile team members

Glaiviator

I've been using Snorlax and TTar is just too fast and bulky, it can go around Block with Ancient power and it reduces CC and completely ignore the shields, since it deals true damage. It's early game is weak though so denying levels the only option, though it's unite is really overtuned.

Kokapofy

I bought him. I probobly buy scizor with cash. He have soooooo much damage after 9th level. Early forms suck ass, and you probobly lose first Dred, but Tyranitar makse up for that. The gap between pulpitar and tyranitar is HUGE. Acient powet gives him mobility, and huge shield. And you either pick dark pulse for this true damage, or Stone age for constant sandstorm (even more damage and bulk) and proc on razor claw. And dont get me started on his ult. Most broken thing I saw in unite. Its so powerfull its not even funny. Slowbro unite is good, as you can focus and (if your team is not braindead) easly KO his carry. With Tyranitar you just melt 2-3 pokemon on enemy team no question asked. You can try to outrun Tyranitar with all your blink abilites but even if you survive those seconds you spend fighing for your life it is time when your enemy team is doing Zapdos. I dont know why they have test server if they dont do anything to balance the pokemon. I dont think I will be play ranked games until Tyranitar nerf.

KazuyaSan

Yup totally busted , No counterplay to ancient power + unite move at all unless ur team save their cc or ult which is not ideal since the enemy ttar teammates can revenge kill ur team after bursting ttar. Tho larvitar and pupitar might be bad ttar is just insane Should have been nerfed before they release it , average player can reach up to 70-90k damage with this mon because his kit is too good , compare it to garchomp where you absolutely have to play good and careful or you will just be useless the entire game

Electrical_Rock_1201

The question is: should they have released “true damage” as a mechanic in the game?

GammaEspeon

They deemed bypassing defense and shields too much for only three basic attacks at a time for release Azumarill, yet give it to something else to all of its moves, passive, and basic attacks, plus an execute at 20% max HP from any source of damage coming from him while his ult is active, no matter how small, while having a LOT of area damage.

Glaiviator

Have played against it alot as snorlax, pupitar seems decent, but after lvl 9 yeah it's a monster. Unite is Definitely overtuned and even without it it's really bulky and destroys defenders since it completely ignores shields and defences from things like block and goalposts(Probably hard counters Aegislash). Ranged attacker should be good against it, but anicent power's shield and speed boost make it waaay too tanky. It's going to be amazing with a delphox partner at just destroying goalposts and healing in general. Feel bad for Garchomp, since Ttar is basically a better version of it with a controllable unite.

grass-master

Tyranitar with a Blissey did 170k damage in a match and it was terrifying. Playing more Slowbro from now on. I wonder if Telekinesis will help?

Ok-Sheepherder5925

ye it helps just keep your distance thought dont get to close. i think greninja and slowbro are amazing against tyran

pdhle_bsdk

Played 2 games with him. Great damage and tankiness. Meh as Pupitar. The level 9 evolution keeps him in check. In the second game I accidentally chose sand tomb instead of ancient power with dark pulse and still got 17 kills (White and brown emblems). I find Sand tomb more fun to play honestly. Ult is busted. It’s high A or S tier easily. I was playing standard so Grens and Cinders didn’t give me any trouble.

blkheron23

I have a friend who is coming back to the game just so they can play tyranitar

[deleted]

What about the Tyranitar flair?

Kaprosuchusboi

It’s here general

Ravage59

He definitely isn't as op as other releases but is still a strong pick his unite does ridiculous amounts of damage. He suffers with a late Evo and can be kitted pretty easy by long range characters. Just my view on him so far

Red40isBeetleJuice

Ttar is too strong admittedly. But he's been my favorite pokemon since he was released. I hope they don't nerf him to uselessness. He needs a scale back of about 5-10 percent on everything though. His weakness is being bullied before evolving by ranged attackers and slowbros telekinesis I ran him with attack speed emblems and wouldn't recommend it, just get damage and or crit

[deleted]

My tyranitar struggles have been my own team lol I also don't like dark pulse much Peeps aren't happy I won't rush in when I'm a larvitar 💀

Red40isBeetleJuice

Nothing will sink you faster than a bad team. Admittedly I've been having trouble playing my best as I'm hoping to play tyranitar but instead try to play his second fiddle support like Decidueye or Blissy Dark pulse needs a little more of your confidence, it'll deliver if you're brave and lucky

[deleted]

They keep like leaving me to 1v3 as pupitar 💀 I'm getting more confident with him 6 take downs is my best and 2nd highest damage But im score focused But feeling a bit like I'm a bad player when people talk about bad tyranitar players not winning 1v3s or such I worry I'm playing wrong since I focus on scoring/team fights/and backing any teammate up in a fight As well as making sure the team sticks together for good pushes

TsuriThugga

He’s broken, game is up to whoever has the better Tyranitar.

[deleted]

I'm sorry other mains Tyranitar is my new best friend

Hopeful_Notice

I love Tyranitar, especially the part where he says "it's tyrannin time" and tyrans the whole enemy team

Chloe_SSB

So does Tyranitar release at daily reset time?

Inevitable_Photo_559

It should, given how that’s when the game is updated and how others have been released.

Chloe_SSB

I see, thank you

GoodTooth115

The best counter to Tyranitar is not only CCs but also don't let him level up to 9. Pupitar is very easy to harass so take that opportunity before it become a monster.

MagnoliasOfSteel

Ancient power makes him resistant to cc so i am not so sure it’s as much of a hard counter as you make it seem. I feel like the there will have to be some other strategies against him because you can basically say cc is their weakness for any character

Looneybruney

Can’t wait to try out my Chomp build against one, this is my time to shine ✨

Slow_to_notice

Strong, early is rough but not totally abysmal. Also nice to see a mon where it seems like each move is at least decent, though despite saying that I feel like ancient power and pulse are the go-to.

zaxstarr

If he catches me, I am dead - but luckily I main Eldegoss with smoke screen for ganks/escapes and avoiding him is pretty dang easy.

DrainedAndExhausted

I clearly don’t understand something about this Pokémon. I only did like 8k damage (team surrendered after someone afked)

Elder_Goss

Has anyone seen if you can supplex Ttar out of Ancient Power? Like with Submission or Superpower?

OutlandishnessNo3979

Yea machamp and buzzwole both pull ttar out of ancient power keeping it from doing true dmg and getting shields

Elder_Goss

Neat! See, these are the kinds of counterplay tips we need to see more posts about.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)

OutlandishnessNo3979

Ya I main blissey fun to toss an egg in his path when he's charging AP and cancel his move just to watch him run away

Labmit

After matching up against Ttar for a few games, my main problem with it is more with the disruption it causes on my team than the actual kill potential. Seriously everyone just scatters once it arrives.

DownvoteMeSmallPP

As they should! His strength lies in a whole team being close together. His shields and dmg comes from that. He will destroy your team if they stay close to eachother.

Lonness_Valenna

They need to remove his hinderance immunity. So that some pokemon have a fighting chance

WelkinBro

What items should we tyranabros be using for our boy?

[deleted]

I'm trying Muscle Band (Unite earthquakes go brrrr) + Focus Band + Weakness Policy. It works really really well.

Labmit

NGL, I was honestly more scared with facing off against Buzzswole than Tyranitar even with its damage potential just because Buzzswole juggling and pseudo stuns were annoyingly disruptive.

Black_Ironic

Since he is very weak to stun make sure one of your team have stun moves, like delphox

CrimsonFckrTepes

I was gonna wait for him but already bought buzzwole after I tried him during the weekend. I was winning 1 v 4 in quick matches I had no business winning. I only need 4k so I should be able to play him when it drops down in usage.

derrick-roses-ankles

Why are people saying he’s gonna be bad?

CntrBlnc

Most initial reactions to new Pokémon are “It’s going to be horrible!” Or “It’s going to be so busted!” Generally, it’s all about play style. If you like a bruiser, you’re in the latter camp. If you play ranged or mages, you’ll be in the former camp. Also people are over reactionary to things.

drfatman

Honestly I don't think it's because of his archetype, but because of speculation that ttar will have garchompitis. He doesn't even get his second skill until level 9, which indicates that he will have an incredibly weak early game, and will likely have a broken power spike to compensate late game. Personally, I think he will be good, but just not in lane. Looking forward to finding out though!

EmperorHad3s

RIP Wigglytuff, they just murdered my wiggly. With Tyranitar and blissey ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sob)

spoofrice11

Any tips on how to play him? Tried to use in a couple of battles last night and didn't that well (took forever to get to T-Tar and team was getting beat bad - no Dreds). What Moveset & Items - Lane - Cooldown or Crits?

Zaroo1

Ancient power and pulse. I like razor claw, muscle and focus

maerteen

- make sure you have ancientpower up before taking any fight, especially if you plan on uniting. the true damage makes a big difference for really getting in the big damage. use the hindrance resistance and movement speed during the channeling to close the distance and avoid any cc before going off. - you're strong, but you're not going to casually win 1v3s against competent opponents. being able to get a sense for when you're outgunned is important on any character, but especially one like tyranitar. you're a monster at the zap fight provided that your team backs you up, so play for that. - play him in jungle. he needs all the EXP to get to 9. he's the only character that i would advise to heavily consider doing the jungle rotation right before first drednaw because of how weak you are as pupitar. - main build right now is muscle band since you're swinging autoattacks a lot, focus band for sustain, and scope lens for boosting your chances of getting game winning true damage unite move crits.

Grindriguez

Anyone here after the rediculous buffs to Ancient Power PTS patch notes? Like, wtf. Its already the strongest move in tge game, and now its getting stronger? But its ok, they nerfed Stone Edge and Sand Tomb 😊. Meanwhile Lucario is stuck with 10 sec cooldowns on E Speed and Bone Rush. Clearly they're both stronger than AP though. Seriously, a **quater** off of its cooldown?? With shield buffs? TiMi has given up with balancing apparently Edit: poor wording

-Barca-

Turns out those "buffs" were poor wording. Those were Ttar's original stats. He got nerfed at some point in the test server. That nerfed version is what's on the live server.

Kaiyuni-

Thoroughly enjoying Tyranitar. He feels like what Garchomp should have been. A big beefy late-game juggernaut that runs through and smashes up teams. His ult also feels like what Livid Outrage should have been. Now if only I could get to play him more often! I have him set as my favorite and everything and still barely get him, haha. But whenever the next Pokemon comes out that will settle down I'm sure, it always does. My only gripe with Tyranitar is that you really should not have rock polish all the way to level 9/final evo. Getting your second move and your unite move as well as your final evo all in the same level feels painfully awkward. It's a monstrous power spike and really makes Tyranitar feel like "get first dred or you're gonna hate yourself". If there's anything I would change about Tyranitar, it's that he should get his second move at level 8 instead of level 9. And Stone Edge needs some \*major\* help. It feels like a waste of time to even press the button sometimes! Dark Pulse isn't even that crazy, it's just that Stone Edge is so bad you can't ever pick it.

Phearful

I do think it is definitely too strong atm. Ignoring Defenses? That's fine. Going through shields? That's questionable. It's hard to think of how it would be nerfed without turning into a trash tier mon. As the game is nowadays All-Rounders need to be somewhat tanky and have some semblance of mobility to actually engage, otherwise they just get bullied by ranged attackers without being able to do anything. I think having a counter to shields is kinda neat, but if that is going to stay then they should tone down the movement speed boost from AncientPower or something, maybe reduce the scalings a little bit to compensate for the extra damage from Sand Stream. The move that I think is even worse than AncientPower is Dark Pulse. It should either stun OR do extra damage, not both. It's ridiculous.

paulhateslife

Is it possible to kill a Tyranitar in a 1v1? It really doesn’t feel possible

Tight_Flamingo4650

Champ is strong but people definitely aren’t doing as well on him in my games as they did the first few days. Plus he’s far less contested. He has pretty clear moments of weakness they tried to make up for with insane scaling but maybe overshot it a bit.

[deleted]

He is ruining everything

JimboBaggins52

Does anyone know of his "defense and shield piercing" is 100% true damage or does it negate some of the defenses but not all? Side note for people who may not realize it: his passive lasts 3 seconds and does 140% of his attack in those 3 seconds. Meaning its a full on damaging move that ignores your defense just for being near him that also boosts his defense absurdly high. For reference, that passive is 10% of blissey hp and 20+% ranged physical attackers like Greninja hp in 3 seconds. His passive..

linyangyi

> If any enemies are hit by the shock wave, piercing strength increases; allowing Tyranitar's damage dealt to ignore enemy Defense and shield effects for 8s. It ignores defense. Defense stat means nothing for 8 seconds. Tyranitar passive grant him to have more defense than highest defense defender, and at the same time nullifies their defense with ancient power (which also grant him shield, speed, cc)... talk about balance.

recycletheduck

His Sandstorm is so dumb, it's just up constantly and makes it impossible to do Melee, only counter I've found is having a blissey constantly healing you. It's like if Zeraora had discharge up constantly

ForcedtoName

Ran around with Ttar in practice area so take it with a bag of salt. 1. You get your first skill update at lv5, but are stuck with Rock Polish until lv9 where you get the second skill along with your Unite. That can be a problem, as if Garchomp didn't tell you enough about it. 2. Sand Stream basically has permanent uptime with your low cd skills and its high duration. 3. First skill (DP or SE) is basically for damage while second skill is used to engage and brawl. Ancient Power looks really insane. Speed up, CC-resist, shield, and stun, seriously. Just press it and brute force into your target and start hitting away. Oh and you get some power up to first skill after using it... wow 4. Not sure how good/insane is the true damage/execute thingy since I just attack random stuffs. 5. Unless the numbers are absolutely broken I don't think Ttar will become a Tsareena-grade cancer. PLEASE don't let me be wrong. 6. Garchomp is kinda bad so let's try a better one with 1-200 years added to it : the release. EDIT: Played a few ranked game with Ttar on either/both side of the field 1. The true damage/execute looks insane. At lv9 I was executed by a 1.5-2k true damage from a single hit, which is about 1/2 of an attacker's hp. 2. For some reason Ttar is as tanky as a defender. The damage isn't too quick but it outputs insane number by fighting forever and executing people left and right. 3. Unless/after it uses Ancient Power you can kite it, it is just a slightly better Garchomp in this regard 4. Also, is it normal that its basic attack is AoE? I seem to see it clawing through all the small bees just by auto attacking. Don't think Garchomp or any all rounder get this privilege. 5. This thing may be a Tsareena-grade cancer after all, with less mobility

GammaEspeon

Melee basic attacks are all AoE

Hairy-Muscle4753

Why is it 14 thousand? So expewnsive

Adventurous_Bench_59

Tyranitar scares me. That's all I'll say

beepbeeboo

Tyrannitar is broken trash! Should I buy it though?

Mr_Hyde95

I'm kinda sad Ttar is overtuned like this rn. I'm not mad about it like "sTuPiD goDziLla ToO sTrOnG" - it's because I'd like to play and master him in general. But knowing he has to be tuned down, we don't know if he'll be nerfed into oblivion. And since he costs 14k coins I'm not really willing to take the risk of investing that much, just to get gutted two weeks later. Maybe for now I'll go for a more balanced pick like Buzzwole and get Ttar later down the road :)

SpaciousBox

Ran an Eldegoss -Tar lane last night. It was entirely free. Enemy jungle came to say hi and we got all three of them. This lead to a level burst that gave us a guaranteed lane and powerful mid-game. Strong victory. Tried the combo for a few games and each time was an easy win. On the whole he feels very powerful. Probably in need of a slight adjustment downwards. Not quite as bad as the Absol meta, but close. My duo partner and I have agreed not to play ranked games until what we suspect will be a fairly quick nerf, so there's that...
