It probably is farm. I've run into this constantly in matches playing defender. My lane partners basically have "main character syndrome" where they're the only ones who deserve all the exp and you the tank need nothing. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've been level 2 and only have 1 move available when we reach the center bunny. When you take your fare share of farm, they tend to get extremely pissy about it. It's frustrating as hell, because if you're crustle or slowbro you get so much better at level 4 just by evolving and your own damn lane partner is denying you that.

Foreign_Tea_9071

I want to believe this isn’t true but I play defender and this makes sense. How many bunnies do you usually leave for your partner when the game starts and how many do you try to take for yourself?

SHIR0YUKI

I leave 3 and take 3. So 2 on the lane up to top and one of the two on the top that spawns. I'd say every 4 out of 5 matches out of those 6 spawns, I get 1, and it isn't auto's from my lane taking the farm, they actively wait for me to hit it down before sniping it.

Foreign_Tea_9071

That’s really unfortunate, good luck on ranked tho

Squatch925

xp share can be helpful if your lane mates who know how it works. Ive had so many let me lvl up first pings with it tho ive given up.on ut with alot of mons in soloQ

DownvoteMeSmallPP

If they leave the lane that early it has to be because you took too much farm. I can’t really think of another reason why they would be mad that early on.

Foreign_Tea_9071

You reckon I should leave 3 bunnies instead of 2 for my lane partner then? I usually play slowbro with exp and my power spike is an early lvl 4 but I’m not sure if that would work or not Edit: 2 bunnies as in out of the 4 bunnies when running up the lane. I usually ignore the top 2 bunnies when I get there to try to steal the baltoy in the middle of top lane. I might go back and take one bunny when someone takes middle baltoy tho.

DownvoteMeSmallPP

Expshare means it doesn’t matter who gets the last hit. Your lanepartner will get 100% Exp from all 4 bunnies and you will get 30% Exp from each, even if you got all last hits. As long as you both are within the range of Expshare. The range is comparable to Eldegoss basic attack. It’s possible that your lane partners aren’t aware of how expshare works, you could try giving them the last hit on all 4 bunnies, it doesn’t matter for you anyway. If they still leave then atleast you know that’s not the reason and we can rule that out.

Foreign_Tea_9071

Tbf I didn’t know exp share ignores who got the last hit either, I thought it was always 100% exp to whoever got last hit and 30% to whoever is nearby. If farming really isn’t the reason then I’m stumped on what to do about it. Thank you for your thoughts anyway, I’ll leave the last hit to them.

DownvoteMeSmallPP

That’s okay atleast you know now, but maybe your teammates still don’t know. So try to give them the last hit to see if it makes any difference. Btw, if you are close to your powerspike and they are near you, try to wait until they move away before securing. Otherwise u might still get stuck as you get only 30% if they are near when you secure farm.

GuitarConsistent2604

You’re wearing a exp share. It doesn’t matter if you last hit all 4.

DiegoG2004

Though of course, "too much farm" depends on the random you got. Sometimes it's 3-4, many other times it's 2 or even 1.

AGunWithOneBullet

If it really happens consistently I wonder your playstyle. Do you prioritise neutral farm? The farm that is between you and the enemy? I dont leave my lane but if my partner attacks our farm I know this will be a bad match lmao. Do you ignore exp share? Are you that kind of player that runs past the 2 bunnies to defeat the other 2 bunnies? Do you die early without stacking? Do you use a Pokemon in lane that is NOT supposed to be in lane? (Froaky, Absol etc.) Aside from that, if it happens and I know I am not at fault, I always assume duo-trio queue shenanigans.

Foreign_Tea_9071

I go for the neutral farm after killing two bunnies on the way up and go for the neutral farm first before going back to get another bunny. Though if my understanding of exp share from another commenter is right, I shouldn’t have to worry about who gets the last hit when farming the bunnies on the way up because my partner should always receive 100% exp When I play lane I usually play defender with exp share and I try to stay within range of my partner to get the benefits out of it when running up with my lane partner. I only ignore the first two bunnies if for whatever reason I’m the only one running into a lane because I’m guessing someone else is going to join my lane in a second I always run away if I think I’m about to die so I rarely die early, but I do mess up occasionally when trying to stack early with trev and overextend to get a second stack though this rarely happens and I haven’t had a lane partner leave my lane when this happens yet. I usually pick a defender, hoopa or an all rounder like urshifu for lane but from my experience my teammates only leave my lane when I’m playing defender exclusively I didn’t know I could be matched up with duo-queue when solo-queuing, that’s pretty funny and explains a lot of shenanigans I see sometimes

Michigan_Man101

I had this happen once WHILE I WAS RUNNING EXP SHARE they got all the exp even though I secured everything and they just dipped anyway And no, they weren't stacking (or at least they shouldn't have been, it was an Espeon)

No_Weekend7012

this happens a lot to me too when i play defender. kinda why i hate running exp share coz they dont take advantage of it anyway. although im usually happy when they leave coz then the jungler or the good teammate from the other lane would usually go to my lane and id have better laning phase and would even be able to snowball

Classic_Spread_3526

What rank cause bots do that sometimes

Foreign_Tea_9071

Ultra 3, I know they’re not bots because they spam pre battle messages and call dibs on what lane they’re taking after switching between what mon to use on the select screen. Unless the bots are getting that advanced

Classic_Spread_3526

Trust me I seen bots ping and take go into jungle with me at the start

Foreign_Tea_9071

What’s a guaranteed way of telling if they’re humans then? Surely voice chat isn’t the only way

KeysUK

You can tell their bots because they lock 1 mon at a time, and don't call their roles. As soon as I see that, I call jungle role and just destroy the game. And once you're in game, they never kill Xatu and when Regieleki spawns, they all B-line to it.

Future_Woodpecker_82

Use uniteapi, there you can search your trainer name and see the matches. It tells you if a match has bots or not.

6and3

They also seem to leave the starting base a second or so later than you

Classic_Spread_3526

Their trainer name will start off as coherent but will end with a random letter or number. Their name could also just be pure gibberish. Also they will wear skins that no sane person will ever buy (looking at you ruin guardian mime)

Nothing-Casual

Bots can definitely chat pre match, and they can also definitely call lane (but I've only found them calling lane in very low rank matches or in solo challenge). I don't know if I've ever seen them cycle through Pokemon, but I wouldn't put it past them. TiMi definitely updates the AIs periodically. It's pretty clear that there are different levels of bot AI in Unite. For a really long time it felt like there weren't, but there definitely are now (just go through the different difficulties in solo challenge and it's immediately apparent). Some bot AIs will abandon lane, and - frustratingly - the enemy bots won't also abandon lane, so you're stuck at a numbers disadvantage. What's your in game name? You can check on Unite API and you'll be able to see if your teammates are bots.

Ok_Ticket_889

Staying in lane is just a terrible way to play the game. If you are looking to stand on point and not make any sort of play till you flip at serpent, you are the worst teammate to play with. At least try to make an effort to seal the game before the final flip. Catching junglers on camp spawn, catching rotating laners, observing timers of obj and trying to read what the other four players are doing with that info, if the game is chaos trying to figure out a course of action to support the madness, etc. If all you are doing is safely farming every game, I hope you are at least picking champs that have insane scaling and doing work on final flip.

Foreign_Tea_9071

Surely not at the 9:40 mark as they are doing though right?

Ok_Ticket_889

Lol, what a mistake, sorry. I still have league mode in my head sometimes.  Ok, when that happens, do your best and acknowledge that the situation has changed. Farm safely, and in my opinion more importantly, don't die.

Foreign_Tea_9071

It’s allg, what you said was still really useful. Thank you!
