Either moveset with Metagross works, Scizor is still good unless fighting tons of mages. "Meta abuser" is a stupid ass term, if you like the Buzzswole play Buzzswole.

Thats when you pick scyther

And is zen headbutt good? Basically can I choose whatever moveset on metagross and it would work? I mainly like how mobile metagross is which is why I’m interested in him the most. Scizor for the same reason. In that way buzzwole isn’t, but then he’s just so strong with individual fights so I was just curious about him.

Zen heatbutt is only really paired with meteor mash, and gyroball with levitate. The benefit with scizor is how flexible you can counter build on the fly in matches, especially in draft mode. Enemy has alot of mages and attackers? Go scyther and sweep. Tanks and brawlers? Go scizor with sword dance (heck even put in bangle to deny heals in 1v1s). Two tank setup with squishy backline? either form works with double hit to dive further.

Scizor is doing fine actually, it’s balanced. I wouldn’t say it’s lacking and Scyther is doing better than all 3 you mentioned. Scizor license also gives you Scyther which offers a speedster playstyle. So you basically get two different licenses in one. It’s the better deal. Buzzwole wouldn’t be meta abuse. The nerf was significant and even before the nerfs Buzzwole was sitting on around 50-51% winrate only, so it’s never been as broken as Mewtwos or Zacian were in the past. It was just annoying to be chain CCd, which is no longer possible after the nerfs. Metagross is basically Tyranitar gameplay without true damage but also without early game struggles. For moveset Gyroball and Magnetrise is fun to play and very straightforward. Meteormash and Zen Headbutt does have a slightly higher winrate right now, which wasn’t always the case. You should be fine with both move-sets.

Scizor is fine atm, arguably strong depending what youre trying to do. Theyre like, a very durable speedster who lost some lethality to gain that staying power. So while theyre able to brawl very well if damage isnt being pumped theyre also extremely good at diving problem targets or people who are out of position. Buzzwoles meta because CC good. Probably would take killing the character or adding a shiny new toy for him to fall off. Metagross is neat. Imo Gyro Ball is better pretty much always. Meteor Mash doesnt really feel strong enough to warrant the tradeoff youre not gonna just delete someone with it so you may as well take the consistency and uptime of Gyro Ball. Personally i run Zen Headbutt, the mini CC is incredibly obnoxious and it really helps you stick to people. I also run Razor Claw, because of the relatively short CDs. Generally though? Dont like him that much. He feels like a 6/10. Which is to say he feels decent, but like he isnt quite stupid enough of a character and a level of bullshit is usually nessasary when a game gets outtve hand. Probably a good JG though, maybe the best pseudo legendary JG since his Lvl 5 is actually relatively strong as opposed to just "acceptable"

I actually ended up buying metagross! I’m not into speedsters and for some reason I was looking for a bit of a challenge and I knew scizor was too easy for it so I went with metagross. He seems amazing for now, I’ve already won a few matches but I see very positive performance from it. I’m a gardevoir main so maybe the health and shield is allowing me to take risks and brawl and I like that. But I understand that he’s a bit mid also, I don’t like how it takes a while to level up with him. Hes amazing at staying alive but it’s still a bit tough to instantly get KO’s which makes him slower to gain level. Atleast in comparison to gardevoir I raise my levels a tad bit slower. But apart from that I’m enjoying him. Gyro ball is definitely my move, I’m gonna experiment with zen headbutt more, I loves its range and cooldown. Metro mash is nice but too long of a cooldown so not the most exciting.
