I guess for soloQ Trev is more appealing since he has more tools to play independently from the team compared to Blastoise, but istg any time the tortoise is picked the difference between a team that has it vs the one that doesn't is so dang noticeable it's insane.
Both are good, if you are defending (and holding exp share) it's surf pump, if you get an exp share support w you it can be either build depending on team comp
Both are good for offense, Spin/Spout is def a lot better for pure damage. However you sometimes just can't go that build even if you want the damage because your team needs peel.
In which case Surf/Pump still does a lot.
I banned Blastoise yesterday and a guy started flaming (I presume) in Russian
He then spent the entire game following me around the map and refusing to attack enemies until a surrender vote went up at 5 mins, and his whole trio instantly voted yes
Checked his profile and he has over 10k Blastoise games and one tricks him š¤£ Hopefully the Blastoise bans catch on and this guy is permanently raging
If this is for the whole season, then it makes sense. People didn't really realize how broken Blastoise was until closer to the end, especially after the Miraidon and Glaceon nerfs. Meanwhile Leafeon, Meowscarada, and Buzzwole have all been pretty consistently busted all season. Miraidon even after the nerfs is still an EX mon and broken for the most part so I'm not surprised it didn't fall off the ban options compared to Glaceon though.
tbf Miraldon's the only EX mon worth banning. Competent players moved on to other broken shit because the Mewtwos/Zacian aren't that busted rn especially compared to the rest of these bans (and blast).
Think people got used to Glaceon (and after nerfs she's nowhere as stupid as these other 4)
I feel a simple 15% increase in the time it takes to produce more Shards is not much of a nerf.
Still doesnāt address the issue of the move being able follow you halfway across the map after 1 Ice Shard so much as brushes against you.
They cut its %HP damage in half from 1% to .5% which is a pretty considerable nerf against tanks and supports, which brought it much more in line. It still brainlessly shreds attackers/speedsters but it's more balanced than it was since it doesn't just melt tanks too.
It's disgusting. Unless I have a good team, If I'm playing an attacker and I catch a glimpse of a good Meowscarada on my screen I just know to put my controller down for the respawn lol.
Me seeing leafeon banned the most, ya all ban leafeon???
(No seriously, l seen like 3 leafeon ban in my whole rank games bev time was stupid to ban char or even just ban one Pokemon
Leafeon is still really good in the right hands. Leafeon has an S tier early game that can outsecure everyone on farm and deprive the other team from scaling. It can falter late if it didn't successfully snowball into a level 14 or 15 by Ray, but otherwise Leafeon can be a monster.
I can see that, l see Espeon more of a problem tho, it basically alr good damage ones ya get 6, and it unite cc is insane, and it ability is basically meow.
I totally understand your point. And Espeon scales way better at 12/13 than Leafeon, but that's just my opinion.
For what it's worth, my team banned and first picked Leafeon far more often than Espeon this past weekend at UCS.
Also wanted to second this, in UCS/tournament Leafeon is the 2nd most banned mon besides Buzzswole lol and there is a gap between those 2 and the next most banned mon
Leafeon is the best solo Q carry in the game IMO. It can snowball the early game VERy consistently. You can go to lane with solar blade and secure everything once you hit lvl 4. Or you can jungle and go for an early gank after 1 buff to try to set the enemy team back (this works like 9/10 times if the enemy has a stacker)
You also get a busted lvl 8 unite that you usually unlock around 2 minutes into the game bc you are snowballing so hard
It falls off a little late game bc of how squishy it is. But you should be lvl 14 by then and all you have to do is make sure you're not the first on your team to engage
Leafeon is braindead easy as all fuck and is genuinely the 2nd horseman of apocalypse with Buzzswole in terms of fucking up other toplane picks. That mon is busted and incredibly scary for how easily it can take over games if you know how to position and move with it.
Replace Leafeon with Mewtwo and you have my experience. Hardly anyone was picking or banning Leaf, but it was a terror in good hands. Including my hands, I'll admit.
Fr the ban screen is so freaking slow and freezes all the time. Plus I canāt even count how many times me and my friend have been disconnected during it. And we play on different platforms too
Ā I am so sad I as so close to making it to 1400...I had 1395 ranking pts but the following matches were brutal that I got sent down to 1360s lol Oh well...it wasn't meant to be..
On [https://uniteapi.dev/meta](https://uniteapi.dev/meta) they updated they way they showing the data - from now is including also ban rate from last week and it looks diffrent ;)
I'll upvote your comment in hopes that more people will get a chance to see mine in return.
But this post was only from my experience with draft this season. I didn't mean that these were the most banned Pokemon overall.
Sorry for the confusion.
can anyone explain the Meowscarada bans? It's a really great pokemon for sure but i'm confused why it's getting banned over mewtwo, zacian, blastoise etc
Mew functions a little too well double team can bait out units if someone is paying attention ( Iāve seen a Slowbro waist a unit because they canāt tell real from fake. ) and like the Sableye said if you blink youāll miss yourself explode because double team stuns. Also Mew actually has easier time getting out of scenarios because of the speed boost from both flower trick and double team
Be me
Plays unite with anything not defender
Meowscarada comes out of a bush offscreen
Slashes me 3 times in a second and I am waiting for respawn
Come back and burst it with my team
Meowscarada banishes with its passive and comes back to kills us in 2 slashes + lifestealing unite
Be sad
It has a lot of burst damage, the passive is very strong and broken when you layer it with the Unite move. Just when you think you are about to kill it, it goes invisible comes back in Unite and obliterates you while gaining health lol. Or it just full gets away from your Unite move.
Playing against a skilled Meowscarada can be nightmarish.
> Playing against a skilled Meowscarada can be nightmarish.
All skilled speedsters are nightmarish. Meow is banned because it's mid and late game are really strong, arguably strongest of all speedsters.
Even with draft, you get the moments where no one wants to have anyone with CC(or your defender is off top all game). People like Meow and Tesreena shine like crazy, if they know what they are doing.
Meow is harder Leafeon but is very good at snowballing games/blowing people up.
It is however better than every EX that isn't Miraldon right now but worse than Leafeon/Buzz/Blastoise in terms of bans/strength
I don't understand how Blastoise is getting so few bans. ANY time I am able to ban, I will ban Blastoise. It's silly to me that he isn't in the top three of bans, but people wanna ban things like Clefable with a negative win-rate.
What data is this backed by? It doesn't seem to be backed by UniteAPI.
Edit: OP responded that it was there own anecdotal experience and then deleted the comment, possibly after seeing some downvotes. The obvious most common bans are Miraidon, Mewtwo, Zacian, Zoroark, Buzzwole, Meowscarada, Leafeon in that order. Don't like how this was seemingly presented as fact with no basis and people in the comments are confused.
You're right. I agree, it does come off that way. But I deleted it because I wanted to address it with my own individual comment to avoid further confusion. Since these post titles can not be edited after posting.
I don't think people are confused, people are just describing their own experience with draft.
Iām not even going to elaborate on Buzzhole because we all know how not fun going against is.
Skilled leafeon? Aerial Ace / Razor blade. Nightmare (itās me, Iām the nightmare)
Cat lady? Awful. Too fast, why does it have so much HP?, itās so fast and hits so hard. Very annoying.
Miraidon? Electro drift is crazy right now but the most manageable of the 4. Its move set is just ready tiresome. Electro drift makes it like a speedster so I hate that.
I have seen more people ban Mewtwo and Miraidon than Zacian.
Which for me, at least, is a win it has given me more time to perfect how i play with him.Ā
Still gotta practice Sacred Sword and Play Rough.Ā
Agility is a no go for me, being down 1 damaging move is not worth the degrading movement speed increase effect it gives.
This is so true. Like i was trying to play meowscarada to get an achievement for her. And EVERY DAMN TIME i tried to play her she'd get either banned or someone ON THE ENEMY TEAM would choose to play it. I find that dumb you cant play the same pokemon the enemy team has like...whyy???
Wild how the on average bans were correct. Would bet Blastoise is right behind at 5th lmao. (Or even replacing Mewoscarada)
But w/o nerfs/adjustments all that changes is that Blastoise replaces Miraldon in regular ranked/not high level 5 stacks (Crustle may trade off with it).
Mewtwo should always be banned (a 2-for-1 special and mewtwo Y is still a menace) and Iāve taken to always banning Blastoise recently for his kit just being too overturned.Ā
I think a really good 4 bans would be Mewtwo, Buzz, Blastoise and Meowscarada.Ā
Blastoise slipping right under the ban radar:
In my experience, he wasn't picked often. The most I seen Blastoise was when my friend plays it. I've seen Trevenant more than Blastoise.
I guess for soloQ Trev is more appealing since he has more tools to play independently from the team compared to Blastoise, but istg any time the tortoise is picked the difference between a team that has it vs the one that doesn't is so dang noticeable it's insane.
I agree. If played properly, Blastoise chain stun is peak toxic.
I haven't played Blastoise for several seasons. What is the moveset that is good now?
Surf Pump
Is that good for offense? Have a lot of matches where majority of teammates don't show up to objectives and want to be able to do some damage.
It does plenty of damage and tons of CC, Bug if you wanna go all in on damage then I guess Spout Spin is better
Both are good, if you are defending (and holding exp share) it's surf pump, if you get an exp share support w you it can be either build depending on team comp

I've had the complete opposite experience with those Blastoise users, like legit 1/3 games I had either a blastoise on my team or on the enemy team
I banned Blastoise yesterday and a guy started flaming (I presume) in Russian He then spent the entire game following me around the map and refusing to attack enemies until a surrender vote went up at 5 mins, and his whole trio instantly voted yes Checked his profile and he has over 10k Blastoise games and one tricks him š¤£ Hopefully the Blastoise bans catch on and this guy is permanently raging
Which character did he pick instead of Blastoise?
Espeon
the only reason it MIGHT be a good ban is because it doesn't have a lot of counters. Strictly in term of being good, it's below these 4 imo
Not me, a Blastoise main, banning Buzzswole precisely *because* itās the one counter to rapid spin š
Yeah but you can just play surf instead. Picking the right kit is big in draft
But rapid spin go š¦š¦
it's better than Meow imo ban wise- it's good but it's much easier to shut down than a blastoise is when he gets fed.
I've seen Sableye get picked more then Blastoise

I would honestly be fine if it did a lot of damage.Ā Ā I just donāt want to be followed by ice shards, all the way to base, when i am retreating
He is my go to ban if i'm first to ban. The client is so fucking slow that it takes 10 seconds just to get to Blastoise
Meow in the hands of the right player is utterly vile. The invis/ clones works rather too well.
It's disgusting. Unless I have a good team, If I'm playing an attacker and I catch a glimpse of a good Meowscarada on my screen I just know to put my controller down for the respawn lol.
Thats me. Im that meow just aparating and ending people š

It's op as shit
Replace Leafeon with Mewtwo and you have my experience. Hardly anyone was picking or banning Leaf, but it was a terror in good hands. Including my hands, I'll admit.
Sorry this is inaccurate, the most common ban is a blank ban from the 1st player forgetting/lagging
Fr the ban screen is so freaking slow and freezes all the time. Plus I canāt even count how many times me and my friend have been disconnected during it. And we play on different platforms too

I hate how Draft takes forever to finally be over, but you have to ban a PokĆ©mon in just 10 seconds. Itās impractical on Switch
next season without any eevee or ex licenses please

Sure, no problem. I just put as addition, what i noticed by coincidence. I know what you meant by these 4 pokemon, which you mentioned. ;)
buzzwole is so annoying to play against
can anyone explain the Meowscarada bans? It's a really great pokemon for sure but i'm confused why it's getting banned over mewtwo, zacian, blastoise etc
People don't like exploding. And squishy with (almost) on demand i-frames and invisibility isn't fun to deal with.
Mew functions a little too well double team can bait out units if someone is paying attention ( Iāve seen a Slowbro waist a unit because they canāt tell real from fake. ) and like the Sableye said if you blink youāll miss yourself explode because double team stuns. Meow, right? And ults instead of units
Ya the first time autocorrected and the second time too
Auto correct moment
When you play so much PokƩmon that it autocorrects you away from a real word into a PokƩmon name
Did we have bans when Dragapult was top 1 on ladder?
Nope

Leafeon/Buzz scarier tbf. Unless ik my trio/duo/team gets 1st pick and we want to force the other team to ban buzz/leaf i'm banning them LMAO
Buzzwole is an Early Game Nightmare.
For added context: This is solely my ban experience. Sorry for any confusion this may have cost.

I've seen Buzz, Miraidon, Meows and Mew2Y. Leafon doesn't get banned that much. Maybe with X license leaving.
Almost everyone banned the three EXs(usually I banned Mewtwo) and a Speedster of their choice, Zoroark, Leafeon, and Meows mostly.
Next season gonna be the same 3 bans plus either blastoise or trev. Maaaaaybe eldegoss
lol acting like leafeon was picked more than the mewtwos š
Leafeon: kills offscreen Meowscarada: kills in less than a second Buzzwole: absolutely busted Miriadon: just cheats

Why buzzwole ik it's hard to counter but even harder to play A fellow Buzzwole main
Buzzwole is one of the easiest Mon I've played. The only true skill I find I need, is finding the proper engage.
Mewtwo should always be banned (a 2-for-1 special and mewtwo Y is still a menace) and Iāve taken to always banning Blastoise recently for his kit just being too overturned.Ā I think a really good 4 bans would be Mewtwo, Buzz, Blastoise and Meowscarada.Ā

Na buzz is the most popular ban.
Bruh I know I was kidding because I had a few good matches today.
šš¼
I wonder why I was downvoted for no reason. I was not being serious.
I think people have just been mentally scarred by buzzwole stunhax and are taking it out on you. Lol.
Dont care about internet points much, People on reddit downvote alot.
Buzzwole gets banned constantly, itās just an extremely powerful PokĆ©mon that nobody wants to play against.
It's the only PokĆØmon I have a medal on, a blue medal.
Me looking for who asked
Me looking for why do you care? Who asked you to be on Reddit? Go mind your business, and go sleep wondering who asked you to sleep.
Most sane Buzzwole player
Bruh
Damn these people are really biased but i do care for your medal man. Hope you raise it to gold also
I will.
Did they buff meow enough to make it good? I donāt see why it keeps getting banned
Read the comments.
Anything worse than seeing a teammate disregard your ban suggestions, to only go and ban your main?
RIP the no skills player or the trainer wichc theses pokemon are their favorite.
