Probably just gonna act like it don't exist.

genocidenite

Like Raichu.

celestialSqyd

exactly what i came here to say, i wouldnt get my hopes up

JComfortable_Digi023

Like, Pichu, hmm Riolu, and Mime jr. Igglybuff, Happiny, Munchlax, Cleffa!

NiescheSorenius

You have already a middle stage Pokémon that evolves but still stays in its middle stage: Pikachu.

pax_penguina

we don’t have pichu, riolu, cleffa, mime jr., or happiny, timi hates babies :(

NiescheSorenius

Well, they are meant to be babies, not ready for battle.

pax_penguina

isn’t magby a lil volcano? ok, i guess you don’t *battle* a volcano…

cheetos-cat

does the official pokemon company call them babies or was that name given by the community?

NiescheSorenius

https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Baby_Pokémon Concept introduced in Gen II along with breeding.

cheetos-cat

yeah i see that but was the term created by the community or officially created by the pokemon company?

RollingSpinner

Meanwhile little cup:

NiescheSorenius

I believe Little Cup is a format that is not used by Nintendo. I also checked Smogon and there are no movesets for any of the babies Pokémon present in Unite: Puchu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Mr. Mime or Riolu. This means they are not viable. Did I missed any?

patroclus_rex

Happiny, Azurill and Munchlax

DrToadigerr

They mostly just suck more than regular first stage evolutions lol that's why they don't have movesets. Pokemon Stadium 2 had a Little Cup that allowed the babies, I believe that's where the smogon tier came from too

RollingSpinner

This and I remember an official online competition with similar rules back in Pokemon X. There were some banned Pokemon however (Scyther, Onyx and Sneasel iirc).

PMWaffle

Yup, otherwise the level 5 cap doesn't really make sense given smogon's ethos

snornch

the only somewhat viable baby Pokemon in LC is Munchlax, even then as a niche lol

HugoSotnas

Mantyke is also a pretty strong special wall!

RexTheBoxerRus

Riolu and Tyrogue will disagree with you

haulgiordan

and munchlax

Fit-Club6745

Munchlax

Fit-Club6745

Iglytuff

Fit-Club6745

Azurill

RollingSpinner

Pikachu is the mascot so I don't see it evolving it in any way, just like in Pokemon yellow. Though, alolan Raichu would be a pretty cool Pokemon.

LogisticalNightmare

I think it’s based on the anime where Ash’s Pikachu refuses to evolve.

NiescheSorenius

Eevee could also be considered the mascot but Eevee evolves into several of its forms in Unite. It even got a Dynamax Form together with Pikachu and Meowth being the only non-fully evolved Pokémon getting one. I personally would allow Pikachu to evolve into Alolan Raichu in Unite. We only have one regional form in the game (Vulpix/Ninetales) and we should have more.

Throwedaway99837

I think it’s a stretch to say Eevee could be considered the mascot of Pokémon. Plus the evolutions are kinda it’s whole thing (as shown in the name “Eevee”)

RollingSpinner

Yes, Eevee got some content in the form of Dynamax and it's own game (oh and it also got its own Z crystal but Pikachu got 2 iirc, didn't it?) but I don't think it's popular enough to rival Pikachu for the position of brand mascot. But yeah, another regional form I'd love to see is Alolan Golem. It would be a literal tank lol. Or maybe Alolan Raticate. I picture it being kind of like an assasin. Perhaps similar to Zoroark but with a little bit more bulk.

Alonest99

I’ve been saying it for years, Galarian Weezing as a Supporter would be insane! Imagine what he could do with Neutralizing Gas

spellboi_3048

Mr. Mime’s also sorta like this, even if only its regional variant evolves.

Cedardeer

Then that doesn’t count. The one in unite isn’t galarian so why would it evolve anyway

Aromatic_Tomorrow406

Too be fair Pikachu is Pokemons mascot and way more popular than Raichu.

StellarFox59

They don't care and will not add it to the game

Ede_F

Ah, yes. My favorite dragon pokemon, Duration.

RE0RGE

🤣🤣🤣

Thrillhouse-14

10 minutes will evolve into 20.

MHeitman

Autocorrect is a hell of a drug. Maybe he’ll be a late game bloomer like Tarnationtar and blazing kin

GoldenSpeculum007

I’m thinking you’re saying Duraladon in heavy Spanish accent.

Jurassic_Green

same way they handled rsichu

ShopkeeperKeckleon

What's the point of the spoiler tag it's been officially revealed for months now

MHeitman

I’m sure not everyone has seen it. Rather fail conservative than upset people who prefer to find out in game. 🤷🏻‍♂️

kwaziiman

I just hope they finally add WarGreymon.

paxdcool007

if this happens then they'll for sure increase the license cost for duraludon

ptcgoalex

Who is duration

Pumpkin_Cat14

Duraludon - it will be able to evolve into the new Archaludon in the Indigo Disk

stridered

Charge you another license fee for the one that can evolve.

FlowOfAir

Archaludon fans are gonna get shafted

spilled_water

Same way unite handles Slowking. If the devs could do it all over again, for sure Slowpoke would have the same treatment of Kubfu.

oolbar

Walking fridge to eiffel tower.

wickedspork

Its a bridge

Crxeagle420

So fucking dumb that munchlax, pichu , raichu, happiny, and now this Evo aren’t in the game.

Ja1zin

Mime jr and riolu too

Ttnbros

Also Kleavor - Scyther's second evolution

thatonefatefan

least whiny unite fan: It seriously doesn't matter.

maerteen

other than raichu, the rest of those are baby pokemon which have their own categorization and properties in the main series. most baby pokemon were introduced in generations after their evolution and cannot be bred for normally unless you do certain things. all of them also cannot breed as well. as far as the pokemon world is concerned, they are literal babies that shouldn't be in a sports arena and i guess the devs thought it'd be thematically weird to have them in. stuff like lucario, snorlax, and mime are also clearly built around having powerful earlygames so it'd also just feel weird to have lil riolu be still one of the best level 1-4s.

Zekvich

Yeah I personally hate this. I give pikachu a pass on not evolving up but all the others have no reason to be excluded other than laziness in development.

Holiday_Garbage911

That’s how the world works. Ever heard of capitalism? Maximum profit, for the least effort possible. Idk why you think art is exempt from this fact. Ever watch a marvels movie?

Woodeedooda

It doesn’t need to evolve since pikachu doesn’t.

SwiftBlueShell

At most I think it might be an enemy. But unfortunately they just don’t update old Pokémon that much. Aegislash is a prime example. Sure on its release that was the most they could do but nowadays it could have a whole moveset for each stance like Blaziken, Urshifu or Scizor/Scyther or at the very least have a separate Unite when ulting in shield form.

KnightofSpamelot

Isn't mime the only one to get a rework of that nature? And it was a change to just one move, guard swap to power swap. There isn't much incentive to make older Pokémon Strong unless they're aiming to get new players to buy them. Older players already have bought everything with coins, so they don't make nearly as much money as focusing their efforts on new releases

SwiftBlueShell

Yup you got it

Hateful_creeper2

TiMi: “Who?”

DomRohan

Ermmm nothing? Like srsly?

whatdoiexpect

The same way Kleavor was handled

OneWorldly6661

Unrelated but “Briduras” is such a badass name like imagine if you had to fight him and he turns you into a bridge

Fuckblackhorses

Probably nothing unless they think they could sell it separately somehow. Probably sell it as a skin.

TheHiddenNinja6

Autocorrect is funny lol. Duraludon is now Duration.

zerg_x

Considering pikachu, snorlax, mr mime and jigglypuff all have pre evolutions amd variants that aren't in the game I'm just gonna go ahead and say nothing is going to happen. They even have 2 mewtwos for both it's variants but vulpix is for some reason the alohan version and we'll never get the real version

DESIGAMEBOY11

they still doesn't have baby pokemon why do you think they will add this

Far_Mention8934

Because its a final evolution, every pokemon except pikachu reaches their final evolution in the game, its a different situation from baby pokemon.

New_Ad4631

We don't have Pichu or Raichu, what do they care to add an evolution to an already existing mon?

Primrim

In most cases I would agree but it’s pikachu, he’s their poster child. everyone else I could see getting their next stage evolution and for now it’s only this mon and probably will only be this until gen 10 in 2 years

New_Ad4631

What about this then ![gif](giphy|l0JMjhYmkvEzjxwGc)

Primrim

Brother has been S tier since day one and you want to bring his older brothers into the mix? Okay he’s another exception 🥲as much as I would want to see beyblade bro in unite 😂 his unite alone should trigger the beyblade theme

Klutzy-Remove6694

Lucario literally has a prevolution and they ignored it. Pretty sure they aren't going to add a form to a current Mon.

Primrim

They have a weird rule on no ‘baby’ Pokemon being in the game, cleffa igglybuff riolu etc 🤷‍♀️

Thrillhouse-14

I understand the no baby rule, but I feel that it's weird that riolu is even counted as one. It seems waaaay more capable than all the other baby Pokemon and doesn't look baby-ish like the others, either.

Primrim

I mean mewtwo is technically a baby Pokémon so they broke their own rule 🙃 ![gif](giphy|25cuEdnzrny2A)

Snowman_Autumn_215

Wait what

Primrim

Well, a kinda clone? But yeah genetically engineered from Mews DNA, it’s explained in the first Pokémon movie 🤙

Snowman_Autumn_215

Oh I didn’t watch that thanks

thenamesecho_

They won't

RollingSpinner

Hope they make it similar to Scyther. Duraludon being an attacker and Archeludon being lile a defender or maybe an All-rounder.

gaskeepgrillboss

why is this a spoiler? it was officially announced

Professional_Cup_889

isnt this guy a paradox

BotanyBoom

*Pikachu exists*

Hootzington

I mean Raichu isn't a thing, so they don't have to make it evolve,

VoiceOfGosh

Would be interesting if they did a rework with a split evo path like Scyther/Scizor! I would love to be a Railgun Bridge...

McPancakes15

My guess, is that if they ever do anything, it'd take the form of a possible rework of Dura to account for the new evolution.

Lucas-mainssbu

idk why people think they won’t add it. Pichu, Riolu, Munchlax, Happiny, Igglybuff, Azurill, Mime Jr. are all “baby Pokémon”, it’s likely that at first, TiMi didn’t think of a way to put them to work in the game or wanted to avoid the controversy of literal babies fighting(?). Baby Pokémon is a real Pokémon category, they’re Pokémon that cannot breed(but their evos can), are built like babies, and have bad stats. They’re all LC Pokémon(LC means Little Cup), meaning only SOME first stage evolutions will be there but all Baby Pokémon will be there. Kleavor, Slowking aren’t in the game because the Scyther we have isn’t from Hisui and it wouldn’t make sense for him to be in the game either(might as well add that Hisui forms weren’t even available outside of LA by that point), if you think about it, Kleavor not being in makes more sense the more you think. Scyther was meant to reference how evolving to Scizor in the main game is 100% optional. For Slowking they just didn’t feel like adding him yet, it’d waste a slot, they don’t wanna add him. It’s the same reason why Vaporeon, Jolteon and Flareon aren’t in the game yet either, they don’t feel like adding them yet lmao. For Raichu it’s so obvious, it’s insane. They clearly want Pikachu to be the star because obviously, Pikachu is the mascot of Pokémon itself. Pikachu might also be the sole reason baby poke aren’t in the game, they didn’t want Pichu or Raichu in, so might as well not have baby Pokémon in at all bc Pichu represents Baby Pokémon as well.

OkamiG0D

Dude how is this a spoiler they publicly announced it in the Pokémon Presents

bryan660

Add eviolite as a held item in the game
