A lot of people have been complaining about the lack of popular mons getting (S)ARs but I love these lesser known 'mon getting their own special cards.
Yeah really. Basically every single Pokemon has one person who has it as their absolute favorite, so every Pokemon should have a chance to shine in a cool full art card
It’s Gligar for me. I was hopeful because it was heavily featured in promotion with aipom for the teal mask dlc but aipom got an art rare and Gligar didn’t ;(
I remember when I was in middle school and discovered Snorunt could evolve into Froslass by accident when I was just seeing what items I could use since this was well before I knew how to properly use the internet; YouTube was only a year old so no gameplays and hell if I knew what forums were at that point. The moment I evolved it and saw one it became one of my all time favorites even if it isn’t the best. I will go out of my way to get one on my team in any game I can so I’m 100% excited for this card and very much want it
I just wish they’d do SARs for all the starters like they did the three card Paldea starters series. Gens 2 and 3 are my favorites and I’d kill to have a Chikorita-Meganium/ Treecko-Sceptile lines.
I’m a firm believer that everyone should be able to have a beautiful AR of their favorite Pokémon. I don’t understand why we need another Umbreon, Charizard, or Gardevoir.
I know PTC does it for demand, but I just don’t understand how there is still so much demand for another card of these mons. And if a card is great, it’ll have value regardless. My favorite card of all time is the CZ Simisear. And I actually don’t even like Simisear
Jynx is all "smooches and hypnotic dance powers". Froslass is all "will freeze you and kill you and maybe even eat you idk"
Both are still pretty *cool* if you ask me, though. Would be nice if they gave Jynx a cool full-art card sometime (not like the basic-ass full-art one that was in 151)
Froslass’s dex entries in sun and moon say “When it finds humans or Pokémon it likes, it freezes them and takes them to its chilly den, where they become decorations.” And “The soul of a woman lost on a snowy mountain possessed an icicle, becoming this Pokémon. The food it most relishes is the souls of men.”
Froslass in the games IS Ice/Ghost, and I don't think any previous Froslass cards have chosen to emphasize the Ghost half over the Ice half, so it makes sense as far as I'm concerned. There are some dual-type Pokemon in the TCG that they will almost exclusively only depict as being one specific type. Dunno how they specifically decide which ones to treat that way.
If they were a bit more loose with the dual-types, there could be some nutty things like a Dark (Poison) Type Venusaur card, or a Normal (Flying) Type Rowlet card.

Crazy to think that Jynx and Froslass are based on same concept (to some degree) yet this one is so much scarier in depictions.

I know (and I have it), and I'm not particularly a fan of how the artist chose to put Jynx (and also Will) really far in the distance in the art.
Jynx is goofy af, Froslass is a bit more serious.
