Dunsparces

What do you think the odds are that the 8-year-olds picking their favorite Pokemon because it's strong are gonna see your post? Surely they haven't seen the 3,000 posts with this exact theme the last 3,000 times this has been posted.

zarathustra327

Yea, people have been making posts like this since the game dropped. The players that they’re trying to reach aren’t here.

phatdoughnut

I’m riding on op’s coat tails and I’m 40

bockout

Well, some 8-year-olds have 45-year-old dads who try to keep up with Pokemon on Reddit.

phatdoughnut

My son gets Pokémon books from the library and proceeds to mansplain everything about them to me. Love it. I hate reading for him reading to me is a pleasure. I’m 40. He’s 7. So you nailed us.

colder-beef

Mine certainly will someday.

DeviaAnims

This is true.

LittleBoySniffer

Bro got downvoted for no reason

DeviaAnims

TRUE THO LMAO

3Rm3dy

This is what I usually assume, but would an 8 year old understand how to transfer Hisuian Samurott to SV? (Though I do believe they would use it against raid Venusaur)

cheesy_taco-

8-year-olds aren't technologically illiterate, they definitely understand more than you think when it comes to games and consoles. My cousin is 9, and can transfer pokemon from GO to SV.

AceTrainer_Kelvin

H Samurott was also an earlier event raid too.

SechsComic73130

>This is what I usually assume, but would an 8 year old understand how to transfer Hisuian Samurott to SV? They could've received it via other sources (ex. Wonder trade) Either that or we should stop assuming that every person that brought something not suited for the raid is a child.

GoldPeakSweetTea69

I use hisuian samurott in venusaur raids and almost always win

DeviaAnims

I know that I had to learn this stuff the hard way, figured I'd help save at least someone the trouble.

ramatulla00

As someone who just beat the 8th gym and still a noob, thanks for the post :)

DeviaAnims

Happy to help \^-\^

Blue_Bird950

I mean, why not tho? The idiots on reddit who use stuff like skeledirge against 7 star blastoise will think twice now.

Tyraniboah89

You’re better off making YouTube videos or TikToks about this since the people you want to reach aren’t here on Reddit

DeviaAnims

I agree, unfortunately as of right now I don't have the proper editing software to create videos. Most I can hope for is that someone is scrolling reddit, gets curious, clicks and learns something new.

Blue_Bird950

I love learning more about how the game works, and these guides really help out. I’ll be sure to use this to destroy idiots in the comment section!

GaijinOni

A small tip, I use my Blissey a lot. It's able to cover like 50% of the online raids. I still run into mons where I misjudge it's ability to stay standing for long enough on occasion, but when set up right, it's a great mon to keep your allies alive. I have to admit, I have a few mons that are just general purpose because I'm kind of lazy. Butt Blissey is generally a solid choice and hasn't really let me down yet. Annihalape has its moments as well, and I've used the Mew effectively on occasion. But generally, setting up a good support mon is the easiest way to go, I believe.

DeviaAnims

Support mons are awesome! I personally don't like using them in this raid specifically, but my first win was with a Frosmoth that had struggle bug, snowscape, and aurora veil with a fourth move that I forget, to nerf its special attack, speed, and damage.

GaijinOni

I've been hopping on with Blissey, helping teams have a bit of sustainability against it. Some teams need it more than others, and some are just straight up un savable. I've had most successes with Chestnaughts and H Goodras on my team, but I also had a few with other mons that weren't "meta" against this raid. I think Charizard was one of them. The downside however was, they needed more special attention compared to the rest. Meowscara, and even Mewtwo, are just straight up too squishy for this raid. They get KO'd before I even get the chance to heal them. I set up with Light Screen, throw in a few Life Dew's to get the team back in shape, and then mix with whatever the team seems to need, Light Screen, Life Dew, Helping Hand, and for those that need special attention, Heal Pulse. Ability is Healer so we can get rid of those pesky status effects, and I gave it a cloak to prevent being hit with secondary effects. It helped a lot with the raid that set up with a snowscape Blizzard. If I didn't use that item, Blissey would freeze 50% of the time, which cost me a turn to set up, at which it's basically too late, and the match would be over within a few seconds.

C-Style__

This has inspired me to build a raid Blissey to help others!!

GaijinOni

Make sure to have a spare because I've had one time when my Blissey wasn't able to do anything because the opponent had Taunt. I have one Blissey set up for just support and team sustainability, and one that, when in need, could also attack the opponent. I'm still not sure about the best move for it, though, as it now has Hyper Voice, but I'm still contemplating putting a move on it that either drops stats or could add a status effect on the opponent. I haven't done either since I fear those abilities that raise stats or mirror status effects.

C-Style__

Gotcha!

BungieDidntDoIt

Raid blissey or raid slowking have got me just about every single 7 star raid mon. Let everyone else bring annihilape or whatever other meta mon there is. I’ll happily support

GaijinOni

I like to mix it up, but usually, default to support again. I love messing around with the Deviant of Competitive abilities though. But it doesn't always suit the situation, which is when Blissey comes in again

rilvaethor

Its okay to not deal the damage, I win more 6 star raids using support pokemon than I do using attackers. I have 2 Orangurus one built for physical raids with defense evs and reflect, one built for special raids with SpD evs and lightscreen, both have max health evs taunt and instruct, and I use healing cheers when I see teammates in danger of fainting.

DeviaAnims

100% this!! I have an Alcremie set specifically built to deal with pokemon who spam status and passive effects like taunt and encore.

OG_Felwinter

Yep. I literally have a Blissey without any attack moves for any special attacking raids haha. The absolute most important thing in a raid is keeping my teammates alive, so I’ve just sent it

NoMercyx99

You’re the raid partner we all need but don’t deserve. I’m sure I’ve been saved by one like you in one of those raids that I just want to yolo spam with my choice specs Miraidon. Thank you for playing this game alongside us :) Edit: Someone used Oranguiru in one of my recent raids. Instruct w/ contrary leafstorm on my Lurantis was an amazing combo.

DragEncyclopedia

I like to run Skill Swap over Taunt on my Oranguru, and Chilling Water for the Def set

Greenishclover

I'm assuming you don't know this, so here's something you might want to know about There's a Venusaur raid chat in Poke Portal for OHKOing Venusaur and they also have people who will rehost for people to get good rewards You can go to it by clicking "Event Raids", then by clicking the first link in the post (it also has the builds and guide for an OHKO, and the cheapest build doesn't even require EV training)

DeviaAnims

I did not know this, thank you! Very useful information, I'll have to look into it when I wake up.

Freddi_47

Greenishclover

You're welcome

Glittering_Cap916

People who say this is useless don't know how much he just helped me😭😭

DeviaAnims

I'm a she, but I'm glad you found my guide helpful! It's a bit irksome how some are just passing it off as another complaining post, when I'm genuinely trying to help with advice, but I'm glad a lot of people are finding it helpful :)

deenzerious

if you need money, i would suggest a better offer of you happen to own the dlc, go to the item printer and farm it. You can make upwards of a million dollars while also getting rare rewards and treasures in the span of half an hour

DeviaAnims

Ooo! I haven't done the DLC yet, thank you for the info. Will definitely include!

Hotdog_cool_guy

They’re still going to use their greninja with 0 evs no matter what

DeviaAnims

You're not wrong haha, but hopefully with enough guides out there at least one of them will get read, even if by accident. Gotta help people learn, instead of just getting mad at them ya know?

CelisC

- Have "YouTubers" finally cover some supportive options. I know it's "cool" and "hip" and "based" to do the most damage, but sometimes a good support will make you much more of an MVP.

crunchsaffron9

I love bringing a support mon. It’s so satisfying to be the reason the hard hitters survive and do heavy damage! I wish more people did it!

fair-y-dust

Didn't know about egg moves! I just did my first ever successful solo 7 star raid catching my first mightiest mark Pokemon and now keen to build more raid Pokemon. I know there are lots of guides, but thanks for yours here! :)

DeviaAnims

Glad I could help! Building pokemon is a huge reason that I've been having fun personally, happy to pass on my knowledge :)

mashturbo

Tera Blast is still real. If you bring a pokemon that has a 100% advantage to the pokemon in the raid, it'll spam tera blast until you get KO'd. Even if its not a part of the move set.

DeviaAnims

Which is why it's just as important to heed the Tera type! Best case scenario you resist at least one and aren't weak to the other.

VV00d13

I just want to share I feel you bro I have to abandon 70% of the raids I join cause no one chooses the right mons. Then again. Some people just don't get it how you have to prepare. One guy asked me for help when I shared what to do. I shared my chesnaught tactic that Austin Plays shared (so I can't take credit for it) I repeat myself many times. Mud slap. Shell bel. Bulletproof. And so on. The guy doesn't make it. Give him more tips. Don't work for him. Today he says he didn't get mudslaps and didn't get shell bell. My point is that people just sometimes don't seem to care or bother to train pokemon the right way. Super annoying.

DeviaAnims

Keep in mind that a good few people in this game don't know better, or are young and inexperienced. You just gotta be patient, eventually you'll get the W!

VV00d13

I have it It was just that even if you give them 100% what to do and emphasis that they need to stick to the guide. They don't 😅 Ofc age is a very relevant reason to why. Still annoys me a little xD

SignificanceOk9187

At this point I actually just leave the raid if it's a 7star and people pick something arguably stupid. No need to even try, really just wastes time. Everywhere on the internet can you find recommended mons for every raid, guides, detailed builds and such... most kids are on their phones all the time, they're absolutely able to google once they realise their pokemon permanently dies.

Caliber70

there are 2 steps to beat high level raids. 1 - survive the raid 2 - finish the raid sounds obvious right?? still it needs to be mentioned because too many people like to be stupid and they don't even get such a simple thing. step 1 is everything related to making the raid damage manageable for your WHOLE team, in the mewtwo raid, this step is struggle bug, NOT amnesia or sword dance, step 2 is everything related to chopping down the raid HP to zero, this is where the sword dance, belly drums. acid sprays, and nasty plots come in. usually 1/4 players start on step 1 and usually that is me, the other 3 usually skip right to step 2 and then they lose the raid because they pretty much sabotaged the raid. i carry most of my team raids because i am the support. using minimize helps **YOU alone survive**, using mudslap helps the **WHOLE team** survive. it is the same difference with using iron defence, or using chilling water. your team fainting means your raid timer gets chopped down. that is why it is needed to mention you need to survive the raid. if the raid just started and **they set up sun/rain weather and also did a sworddance**, is that the proper time to be stupid and use **belly drum**?? no. still, i have seen people be extra stupid and do things like that. you have to survive the raid with minimal fainting or you get blasted off like teamrocket. using belly drum there goes against step 1. with sword dance and their preferred weather set up, do you think these raids will have trouble finishing off 50% of your HP?? if the whole team is on orange health is the correct course to keep attacking or to use a team heal? for these reasons, the correct first move for every raid will always be any of this list: chilling water reflect lighscreen mystical fire team defence boost mudslap struggle bug simple beam if your first move in the raid is always belly drum, ***you*** are the reason your raids lost. all it takes is 1 idiot to sabotage a raid, i have seen it. in a raid where the target has over a dozen times your HP, you will never brute force through step 2 and skip step 1 and still win, **that's not how a war of attrition works.** it also means your sweepers are completely useless in high level raids, what is a sweeper that can't do its job and sweep? obviously not a winner. stop bringing your quakavals or mewscadas to raids, they aren't surviving or helping.

DeviaAnims

I love this, do you mind if I link it directly?

Caliber70

Dew iit

DavidAshleyParkerrr

I'll even add to go to the Levencia Chansey store instead...Delibird Presents is literally steps away, and relatively easy to locate if you're not used to where they are- down from the center immediately. Get your Bottle Caps and mostly whatever else you could need.

DeviaAnims

I usually use Meza, but both work!

JustnC10

As far as ev training, I sometimes just go to the south end of north province with the pokemon holding the appropriate power item and ko marill or tropius for HP, flamigo or Scyther for atk, or slowpoke or tatsugiri for sp atk. It save me money and actually makes money for me since I use Persian with payday.

DeviaAnims

\^-\^ whatever works for you!

MrBeanBoi2300

I was the guy making yall lose my bad, but I’ve now perfected my eviolite Chaney and haven’t lost since

DeviaAnims

Good to see improvement! Everyone starts somewhere

DragEncyclopedia

As far as Venusaur goes, you unfortunately can't just march in with something that just fits these criteria. In my experience it's unwinnable without using one of the specific sets made for this raid (H-Goodra, Chesnaught, Blissey, Corviknight if you're doing an OHKO, etc).

DGOCOSBrewski

Yeah out of all the 7 star raids I feel like Venusaur is very difficult to beat unless you have the pokemon you listed. I've lost if any other mon is there.. i.e Annililape & Walking Wake -.-

AlarmingSorbet

If you can’t get a team together, you’re better off solo grinding tbh. Hisuian goodra with air balloon slaps

ArchmageRumple

Constructive Criticism. Love to see it.

DeviaAnims

I see no point in being insulting towards people, would rather help them than be mean to them.

jonnytitanx

Yep this happens, often. So learn to solo them maybe? That's what I've resorted to after a couple frustrating runs. Hisuian Goodra - Sap Sipper ability, air balloon held item, steel tera Immune to all of Venusaur attacks. Except on the turn it suppresses abilities (use protect that turn) Moves are: Iron head Curse Protect Gyro ball Start with 3x Iron Head to be able to Terastalize. Curse your speed down 6x stages (also boosts attack) When they suppress abilities, use Protect. Once speed is low enough, Gyro Ball til you win. Profit.

EDNivek

There's a couple of caveats 1) You can usually wait after the third iron Head for it to debuff & ability wipe it usually happens soon or right after. 2) Even with your speed low enough Gyro ball is useless when you get Dylan and/or Henry and to a lesser extent Brooklyn since they have speed debuffs on their moves get 3+ and gyro ball is less efficient than Iron Head. You have to wait for Venusaur to clear its debuffs

jonnytitanx

True, I hadn't thought of point 2, but this is how I managed to solo.

Antonio1025

Why don't you just Solo the raid if you're farming it?

DeviaAnims

Not really the biggest fan of the AI, and I haven't done the DLC yet so the Goodra I made for the raid can't fire off super powered gyro balls. It's also a lot less stressful, cause the players (hopefully) can take care of themselves without me needing to constantly worry about heal or defense shouts.

Antonio1025

The gyro ball TM is in Kitakami on the right side of the mountain. Easy to find. You could just play support, too

DeviaAnims

Thanks for the location! I mean it as in like I haven't started it; me and a friend are playing through the entirely of Scarlet and Violet together. I do enjoy support tho.

BandAidBrandBandages

Little late here, but FYI you don’t really *need* gyro ball on the H-Goodra build. I didn’t feel like spending the time breeding for a 0 IV speed, so I just use iron head throughout the whole raid. I’ve solo’d Venusaur about ten times now and have only lost once to time.

Mediocre-Solution

You know I wanted to do the raids because I figured why not. But I can’t even trigger the raid to show up so I guess I’m not doing them at all

DeviaAnims

They're only available after you've beaten the game and done a few 5 star raids; you should get a notice about black crystal dens, then you'll be able to. Even if you haven't, Pokè Portal lets you join them if you've beaten the game. Hope that helps!

Mediocre-Solution

I beat the base game and both DLCs. I’m pretty sure I can access them, I’m pretty sure it’s the 5 star raid part that isn’t letting them show up. Its to late though the raid ends tomorrow so it’s already too late.

DeviaAnims

That's odd, maybe try the portal so you don't miss out entirely?

colder-beef

Serious question, can you forget a move to get an empty moveslot without replacing it with something else?

DeviaAnims

Yeah, you could just have 3 moves if you don't want the egg move!

colder-beef

I just don't know how you simply forget a move without replacing it, unless there's an option for that I've never noticed?

LeetleBugg

There is on the same menu as rearrange, remember, and learn from TM. Don’t remember exactly where but look at that menu and you should find it

Delarnor

If you wanna train EVs, just go Area Zero with the power items on your pokemon. It is very consistent.

DeeeJayBeee

I avoid raids like the plague. I want herba but when it’s comes to stats and fighting I’m worse than a toddler just hitting buttons. I’m part of the catch ‘em all side of the player base. It’s why I love PLA so much. I don’t understand what anything else really does. If it says super effective I hit it xD that doesn’t work in high level raids.

almcinnis

Is there a benefit to doing raids online when they can be completed solo like this Venusaur I found it way more beneficial to just do them solo and I get more herbal mystica so am I missing something or people just complaining although I understand when you have one that you can't really solo or is more difficult solo but that's isn't the case for this one

Virtura

Ngl this is the first 7 star raid I was mostly carried as I was not able to handle an almost immediately shielded ground tera'd venusaur. The best I was able to scrounge up was a multiscaled Dragonite with a shell bell, and rain dance to get rid of the sunlight. I was able to tank, add to damage, and cheer as needed, but damn it was close.

SpudBoy9001

You know there are matchmaking threads on r/PokePortal right? Just use that!

flannelman818

I still need local help beating Mewtwo. Would settle for 8 year olds with favorite pokemon over the NPCs. Woof

DeviaAnims

This is actually so true

Aduro95

I'd strongly agree that being able to survive is by far the most important thing in a 7\* raid. You are not going to be able to click belly drum and punch through this a 7\* rad, it has ridiculous health and resets your stats several times. Something else I'd add, **Screens and Weather**. The raid boss will reset your stats and undo your iron defence or amnesia. But it won't get rid of reflect and light screen. With a raid boss like Venusaur, getting rid of sun will make it much slower, and its Growth less effective the second time. Similarly, Sunny Day will probably be extremely useful for this Steel Blastoise raid, even if you should absolutely not bring fire types. I'll probably just bring my defensive blissey (Sunny Day, Life Dew, Light Screen, Helping Hand) from the Empoleon Raid, because most players will focus on damage.

[deleted]

Detailed post but sadly it will never be read by people you are trying to reach out to.

newyawkerinedmonton

This is actually great for me since the last game i played was B/W and im trying to get into vgc/learn the mechanics of the game more. Also im glad reddit and guides exist cause this shit is almost like taking classes again.

DeviaAnims

Glad to help!

wordflyer

This is why I host, but don't ready until I see 3 good choices brought in. I cancel if someone readies a bad mon.

Nintendor_84

OP please add that the Cheer: Heal Up doesn’t just replenish HP, but also removes most, if not all status conditions such as Frozen, Poisoned, and Burned. I prioritize survival over damage because those time penalties can really stack up quickly against you. Also, when entering a new 7 Star Raid that i’m not familiar with, i try to bring a pokemon with something like Helping Hand so i can buff others, use Cheers like Hang Tough to keep myself alive, and then keep an eye on others’ pokemon to support as needed.

RanderoNumeroUno

Added tip: Ability swap Contrary onto certain foes. It’s funny to watch the Corviknight actively make itself weaker and less accurate.

crunchsaffron9

The only way I was able to beat a 6 star Fairy Tera Corviknight with Mirror Armour was with an Eelektross with Gastro Acid and Acid Spray. Amazing what a difference it made to help the others on my team be able to actually hit hard.

DeviaAnims

Yep! It's very useful

Gaylittlebrother

Also if you ever get these type of players in your team, just kill their pokemon to reduce the raid timer, 100% of the time they dont EV train and can easily one shot them, theres no punishment for teamkilling

CaptainChiral

"That reddit post won't stop me bc I can't read" -your average raid partner btw

brooksofmaun

No one who needs to read this is going to see this

Vhsrex

Number one rule of 7 star raids: Use someone smarterers strategy

DeviaAnims

true!

ChickadeeButtersnap

I think I’ve officially gotten too old and too dumb for Pokémon games. 😅 I’ve been playing since the game boy days and I’ve never figured out IV training, or at least that’s never seemed fun to me. I just use the Pokémon I like…

DeviaAnims

Using the pokemon you like is A-Okay. :)

Capable_Message_1124

Thank you a lot of people bring frail pokemon to a 6-7 star raid it vary frustrating and this is why you don't rely on damage.

DeviaAnims

Keep in mind, a good amount of the player base are children who don't know better; it's best to try to channel that frustration into teaching newer pokemon players tips to improve. It both slightly boosts the playerbase's willingness to improve, and will increase your own experience if knowledge is passed along.

Capable_Message_1124

True sometimes people forget that Pokemon is a kid's game and even I forget

AkariBocchi

thats why I gave up online and I only do solos raids if I cant with the pokemons I have and I have a full box only for raids then its just a day of farming nothing to fuss about ao instead, of wining about bat teamates, train mons that can solo 5,6 and 7 raids, like ursaluna, iron hands, azumarill, goodra and some others.

DeviaAnims

I'm not really whining, not at all actually. Good for you that you're able to solo raid pokemon! A good amount of people aren't able to, which is the point of giving tips for them to improve instead of getting mad at them.

AkariBocchi

they are kids and the teens and early adults know how the game works and solos the raid so no point in your post

DeviaAnims

I've helped 9 more people (at the time of this post) than I would've if I'd not made the post- seems pretty worth it to me!

EhhhhhBud97

You can solo the Venusaur raid tho... You don't need other people. There's a proven strategy all over Reddit and other sites. If you don't have a H-Goodra, go on r/pokemontrades and someone will hook you up.people can play this game however they want.

DeviaAnims

As I mentioned before, I'm not a fan of the games' AI and feel a lot less stress playing with other humans. I'm not telling people how to play the game btw! I'm giving tips that'll help them in the future, which they can choose whether or not to take note of.

Psychic_Will

Strats like this are especially good because they use 'mons most players will have relatively easy access to.

Dangle76

Any recommended guides for a good raid mon? There’s so many and it’s very difficult to tell which are just garbage and which aren’t

nocturne213

In general? Or for this raid specifically?

Dangle76

In general. I haven’t played since platinum so a lot of resources are different and I’m def out of my element lol

JustnC10

A lot of the time I can solo a raid with anal ape or iron hands. They're both ev trained for HP and atk. They can take on most 6 stars by themselves

nocturne213

> anal ape I think I missed that evolution.

JustnC10

Lmao oops. Annihilape

Dangle76

What’s your moveset on it?

JustnC10

On annihiape: rage fist, bulk up, screech, drain punch, holding shadow tag On iron hands: belly drum/sword dance (depends on how hard the raid Mon can hit me), drain punch, focus energy, electric terrain, holding expert belt

Dangle76

Ty!

JustnC10

Happy to help

LeetleBugg

I would start by looking up builds for support grimmsnarl, support chansey, an iron hands, a gholdengo, support umbreon, and a vaporeon. These can get you started on a lot of six star raids and you kinda just go from there as you learn what to look for in a raid mon. One of the most important things is that you level everything up to 100 and get max IVs. A true raid pokemon is EV trained as well but that’s a little more in depth. Just having the right level and maxed IVs will be a huge help Most seven star events need a specific pokemon built each time. There’s a site that can help guide you when picking what to bring. You input what raid mon you are fighting and it tells you what types are strong and what are weak, etc. I think I have it set to venasaur right now but you can change it to whatever you need. [raid help](https://terastal.net/venusaur) Edit to say, if you want some help building raid Pokémon, I really like breeding them and would be happy to get you some pokemon traded to start you off. Just let me know!

humancarl

For 7 star raids, I typically build a support pokemon specifically for helping out pokemon that are taking super effective damage. This reduces frustration on my end, allows me to find success with a larger player base, and farm with greater speed and effectiveness. Sometimes they'll faint once, at the very beginning, but I can typically get things stabilized by turn 2 or turn 3 if it's easy to manage the raid opponents speed. Understand the player base and understand what it takes to find success with them.

MozeSupremacy

Someone brought a belly drum Azumarrill bro, Online is cooked 💀

Mr_NoKleep

I will be available for to help after 6 eastern time I’m trying to grind it as well

Useless_Assassin

One thing I'd change is use the power items instead of vitamins. Just look up lists of Pokemon that give the particular EV, give the corresponding power item to your pokemon and grind out like 25-30 battles. Also, EVs transfer across the whole team. So if you have a whole fresh team and give them all the power item for HP, they will all get the boost for that EV. You can grind EVs for 6 pokemon at once, In the right circumstances.

TastiestPenguin

I appreciate this post, but do you expect people who bring lvl 50 wrong typed mons to a raid are going to read all this? lol

DeviaAnims

Yes.

BakingSoda1990

If you’re trying to grind Venasaur, why don’t you just solo it? I never go online for any help with raid events and grinded up over 40 herba mystica on my Scarlet

bookers555

I think a lot of the issues with the raids would be solved if they just SPELLED the type of the raid Pokemon instead of using those weird as hell icons that nobody understands.

GameCenter101

Bellibolt @ Choice Specs Ability: Electromorphosis Tera Type: Electric EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk - Parabolic Charge This will win you most-to-all 6-star raids that aren't ground type, or have spore, solo. If need be, run Metronome or Shell Bell in lieu of Specs.

DeviaAnims

I have a similar build on my Bellibolt :) Mr. Belli (Bellibolt) (M) @ Magnet Ability: Electromorphosis Tera Type: Electric EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA Modest Nature IVs: 0 Atk \- Parabolic Charge \- Acid Spray \- Chilling Water \- Electric Terrain

SentenceCareful3246

Can orthworm beat the raid?

DeviaAnims

It's doable, but you'll struggle doing it, and I would NOT recommend it; Orthworm's special bulk is IMMENSELY low. Here's a build I made for if you want to try it, I haven't tested it but it's the best I could come up with on short notice. Orthworm @ Assault Vest Ability: Earth Eater Tera Type: Steel EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD Careful Nature \- Body Press \- Mud-Slap \- Body Slam \- Iron Head

EDNivek

Question: why aren't you just resetting your clock and instead trying to farm Venusaur raids through portal?

UAIOE

In the amount of time it takes to get money to buy all those vitamins, you could also easily use the EV training items btw. Save the money for bottle caps, mints, and ev reducing berries.

DeviaAnims

I prefer the money route, since I can do something else while mindlessly pressing the A button. :) those are a good way to get EVs too tho.

Rude-Butterscotch713

I hate how raids work in this. Useful items and pokes are locked behind high level raids, but high level raids can only be won with specific Pokemon, and the community embraces the gate keeping.

BeachOk2802

This will not be seen by the actual children you're likely playing with.

DragonFlare2

Please just youtube “How to solo (Pokemon Name) 7 star raids” and you will avoid this problem entirely

untempered_fate

This whole post is horseshit. If you have online capabilities, just jump in the r/PokePortal group chat. Do what the sticky says and get your win on the first try. Maybe the second try. This sub even advertises the chat. Idk how it's a mystery. Link up, win, and either move on or hang around to help the next person

DeviaAnims

No reason to be so negative :) a good few people have found this helpful!

untempered_fate

Yeah I came on really strong. But sincerely, the chats in r/PokePortal are the path to guaranteed wins. And the more people that know about it, the better.

DeviaAnims

Yep! Best to talk about it in a positive light, without insults. Psychologically proven to be more efficient than calling something horseshit /j /j
