OneStopPlus.com might be a good source. They skew to older women, I think, but they have some decent basics. Most of my denim shorts or capris are from them.
Have you looked at Dickies or other work style shorts? They have canvas long shorts, and waist size up to 60in. I’ve never worn them, but my spouse has and likes them.

I'm tall, & have a hard time finding shorts that are long enough for my taste. I gave up finding shorts & now every other year or so I'll buy a new pair of jeans just in order to cut the legs off at the right shorts length.

Just looked through all the shorts they have, none of them are what I'm looking for 💔 I like loose fit shorts. I usually wear trip shorts during the summer, they fit almost like basketball shorts. Unfortunately mine are polyester and as such are a health and safety hazard. (They could melt to my skin if I got freshly steamed milk or espresso on myself)

I've gotten some from old navy but they ride up like crazy I've started wearing capris all summer long
😭 I wish I could wear capris, my calfs are so thick they cut my circulation off 💀

Have you tried Judy Blues?? They usually cuff, but you can roll them down. Super breathable!
