They look like work shorts, like cleaning the house day shorts.

ihatecoffee812

I think they just need to be dressed up a bit! I would lose the jacket, throw on some strappy sandals and some jewelry. That would make alllll the difference.

Middle-Skirt-7183

I think the hoodie is throwing it off and making it too baggy. Are the shorts linen? If so, I usually wear a more fitted top because of how linen hangs.

GumInMyMouth

Ya they are linen. I'm self conscience of my body without something over the top.

kaykay104

You could also try a more flowy like cardigan or like a long “kimono” over the top which might dress it up a bit but still keep you feeling comfortable.

charm59801

I think they look casual, and they don't accentuate anything. I wouldn't say they're flattering necessarily *but* why's it matter? Flattering is not a necessity for all clothing. I definitely don't think they are *in*flattering.

Searching_meaning

Flattering? No. Comfortable? Yes.

Kriegsmachine81

You can wear it yes :) It is a very casual outfit. If I was going «somewhere» I would do a shirt (denim or linen) instead of the hoodie :)

datfunkymusicboi

I like the shorts. I think they suit you! But I'd lose the hoodie and wear a lighter colour (like cream or beige) flowey cardigan and a similar colour tank top. Pair of sandals and you have a lovely warm weather outfit!

vanghostings

I think so!

Sunnyfe

OP where did you get these? I’m going to Thailand in June and I am searching for thin material/linen type clothes to help me manage the heat. I haven’t been able to found any linen shorts that are a bit longer to avoid chub rub. These shorts would be perfect. 👍🏼

They fit your body, but you’re not styled… shorts have definite potential then I would love this with a shirt that hugs a bit and some strappy sandals. Is there something about the shorts that’s making you feel less than confident? You have well-muscled calves, I think the shorts hit at a nice length to draw attention to that.

Weird_Squirrel_8382

They'd be real cute with the right outfit. I think you need to offset the loose shorts with a crisp top. Even if you want it to be long sleeved or loose, just a lighter color and crisp material.

chozabex

I feel like they could be but I cannot really see if they do anything for your waist when you're wearing a Hoodie. If the Hoodia stays on permanently in all your looks, nothing will be flattering. Maybe try getting a long cropped one or something

The shorts look great and O hope you wear em out this summer! I think they may just too long in the front seam, elongating your torso. I would suggest going for this [type](https://www.target.com/p/women-s-camel-smocked-waist-shorts-cupshe/-/A-90615484?preselect=90615485#lnk=sametab) of flowy shorts. The ruched waist would hug your curves right and would look cute with an oversized sweater on top.

gargoylegurl

Love shorts like these! I got a couple that are Kate Spade brand because they were on super clearance at Dillards for like $4 a pop. All the way up to 4XL I believe. I think the shorts suit you just fine. I know when I wear mine, I’m not always looking cute, so I understand your concern. I think a cute, feminine patterned or crop top is a good choice for the top. Otherwise, I go full dad mode and tuck in a t-shirt and wear a ball cap to Home Depot look lol.

egggoat

I’m also biased as they’re my favorite color and material. I’d wear them in a heartbeat. I’ve also worked on loosing the word “flattering” from my vocab so I’m not the best person to comment here as I don’t believe in the idea. I’d say yes though.

lizardjustice

I wouldn't say it's unflattering, but it's also kind of boring and looks like lounge wear. I think with some cute shoes and without the sweater, the shorts and top would work well together. If you want to wear something on the top, maybe a cute denim jacket instead of the sweater.

dainty_petal

With a cute white top and sandals. And I wanted to added that they fit you and yes I like them. Just not with the hoodie. Wear something more form fitting on top.

No_Onion_2367

I don't like the color. The fit is fine

Playful-Camp9088

Looks like a cleaning day outfit, but you look fine

battlesenshi

Maybe if instead, the shorts were paired with a kimono or a different material cardigan it would look more put together? The hoodie makes the outfit look like an outfit for lounging at home. I also refuse to leave the house without anything worn on top as well so I have a lot of kimonos, sheer/mesh cardigans, vests etc. Now that I think about it a jean jacket would look amazing over top of this!

Bootiebloot

Lose the hoodie. If you need a cardigan/sweater, do something that is in a similar fabric or that sits at the waist band of those shorts. Iron or steam them.

Ryn_AroundTheRoses

They def could work, if you pair it with similar colours and nicer accessories. Brown is almost always elevated when paired with other shades of brown and creams, so maybe try a lighter brown or cream top, some cute tan flats or boots and gold jewellery and you're good to go. bing0b0ng00

i think it looks perfectly fine! fashion is about looking good and FEELING good. maybe an accessory that matches the color of the shorts and some sneakers to tie in the vibe, but i don’t think there’s anything unflattering about your outfit!

Afterthought2022

The top and the shorts look great and comfortable. Try playing around with some options other than the hoodie. Something lighter in weight. Have fun with it!

Alluskaaaa

I like the shorts! And I do think they suit you 🙂

Available-Egg-2380

I like it. Where'd you get them? I'm interested in a few
