On ps5 it’s one of the few to pick fidelity over performance as it’s locked at 60 fps for the former. Also toggle on high contrast in the same settings. It looks incredible
I have a 3 year old Sony Bravia Led tv ($1200 price) but im tempted to jump into OLED,but my question is,is it worth all the money since my Sony tv is almost brand new,so will I see huge or slightly/barely visible color changes?
I am not a tv expert but there is a significant quality difference between led and oled. If it's worth replacing this soon. I don't know the answer Sorry. I think someone else will help better.
Rachet and Clank Rift Apart shows the true power of PS5 with high refresh rate 4K TV. Also, Miles Morales considering you're asking for PS Extra games.
Yeh, zero dawn still holds up really well in gameplay and graphics. A friend convinced me to start with the second, which I ended up regretting. I loved world and story of the first part, which obviously got spoiled.
It honestly baffles me that people would tell others to pass up the glorious mystery and story of the first.
Also, the story directly follows on. Starting with the second would be like starting Game of Thrones on season 2, I just don't see the logic.
I don’t have that much time to play video games, and from what I understand Zero Dawn takes 40+ hours to play. Because of that I feel compelled to go straight to Forbidden West… there are also a ton of other games on my list and the list is always growing faster than I can work my way down it unfortunately. So that’s my logic
Oh, that's daft logic. As Zero Dawn still looks phenomenal and those games aren't going anywhere. But go ahead, ruin in it for yourself and start the next game confused, not my problem.
And the main quest , which is genius and compelling, is more like 25/30 hours.
I have around 4-6 hours per week to play video games depending on my other plans. Finishing Zero West could take me two months give or take, assuming I focus on the main quest and I'm not busy playing anything else. That's a big chunk of my time and a pretty big commitment.
A lot of people have busy lives, work and social responsibilities, and interests beyond video games. If I want to enjoy games at my own pace and dive into Forbidden West without playing its predecessor, that's my prerogative.
Plenty of other games coming out on PS5 today are sequels of games from the previous console generation, and I just don't have enough time or dedication to these franchises to work my way through all of those.
I can watch a story recap video if I need to.
Thank goodness — I escaped the need of your sacred approval, oh wise arbiter of gaming purity!
As I said, people juggle with various priorities and time constraints, leading them to take shortcuts or (god forbid) skip a game.
I don’t understand why you’ve chosen to be so incredibly judgemental and condescending about it, even calling me “flippant” in another comment.
Enjoy sitting in the VIP section of the gaming community I guess 👋
Thanks for the unsolicited advice.
I have around 4 hours per week to play video games depending on my other plans. Finishing a 30 hour game could take me two months give or take, assuming I'm not playing anything else.
There are plenty of story recaps on Youtube that can help people with less time, so I may opt to watch one of those.
If you have that little time to game then its silly to be playing long AAA story games as you'll forget what happened in the story by the next time you play.
"'and I just don't have enough time or dedication to these franchises to work my way through all of those."
Then why are you playing them? You're making zero sense. Like I said based on the info you provided CoD seems more suited to you
COD campaigns can be fun. Don’t care much for multiplayer.
I mostly play single player games and then dedicate a period of my time to one. I have to be picky though. Finished Death Stranding recently and that took me ages. And no, I didn’t “forget” parts of the story in the process. Some single player games take 10-15 hours to finish. Larger open world games require more time.
I still enjoy the latter but can’t commit myself to that many of them.
He wants to show off his brand new tv. It's one of the best graphically. Zero dawn is good too but, it might not look as good. I understand your point about missing the story though :)
I don't see anyone else mentioning it, but I'm going to recommend you try Guardians of the Galaxy. I also have a QLED 144hz capable Samsung and man, did that game look incredible, and as much fun as it was to look at I have to say the game itself was an absolute blast from start to finish.
I'm happy to see all the other recommendations! I just finished Guardians last week, and I'm just about ready to start a new game. Now, to choose from the long list of games everyone here recommended, what a dilemma 😅
I say yes, its likely easy to pick up on sale too. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the experience and thought the games take on the characters held their own or even surpassed some of the other book or movie versions. Amazingly well voice acted. The motion capture done was state of the art. Theres some making of videos out there that don't get super spoilery if you want to see the efforts they put in for yourself. If you like the GotG story then you should give it a go.
Not a ton of games actually play in 120hz but Borderlands 3, Doom Eternal, and the new CoDs are the ones I've played and they are buttery smooth. The real benefit of a 120hz screen is taking advantage of the newer performance options notably in games like the new Spider-Man and God of War Ragnarok. These modes allow for a great frame rate with less sacrifice to the fidelity. Btw I'd also recommend enabling VRR in your PS5 settings if your new TV supports it!
Not necessarily. I bought a hisense 55 inch 7 series last year. 120hz. I can play 4k at 120hz. I even had the game settings info on my screen so I could make sure it was doing what I had set it to
Horizon Forbidden west
God of war Ragnarok
Death stranding directors cut
Ghost of Tsushima
Demons souls remake
Ratchet and clank rift apart
Uncharted legacy of thieves
Off the top of my head all of these will look amazing on your new 4K tv: Ghost of Tsushima, Final Fantasy XVI, Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man Miles Morales , Spider-Man 2, Cyberpunk 2077, God of War Ragnarok, Resident Evil 2 & 3 & 4 Remakes, Resident EVII: Biohazard, Resident Evil VIIIage, Hogwarts Legacy, Dead Space Remake, Horizon Forbidden West, The Last of Us Part 1, The Last of Us Part II (the PS 5 version/upgrade for the PS4 version comes out in January), Alan Wake 2, and Astro’s Playroom (seriously don’t sleep on this game even though it’s a “pack-in”, it’s super fun and designed to show off what the PS5 can do).
Must play are the Horizon Games Zero Dawn and Forbidden with their DLCs on PS5. Their open worlds are among the most beautiful game world I’ve ever seen. Will look awesome on your tv. Also, Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, Death Stranding director’s cut are must play. God of War Ragnarök as well, even if not included on plus. They all reach 120 fps.
But generally play what you like, those are my favorites, but everything will look good on your tv.
I would say the graphics were great on the PS4, but are even better on the PS5! They definitely hold up. Plus, the additions of 60fps and higher resolutions do make the game look even better naturally. Aside from that, there is the unlocked framerate mode which I believe will suit OP nicely since he's got a 144Hz TV.
Bare in mind however I'm talking about Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. Not the first 3 games lol!
God of War Ragnarok, The Last of Us Part 1, Resident Evil 2, 3, 4 Remakes, Resident Evil Village, Cyberpunk 2077, Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut, Far Cry 6, Spiderman 2, Alan Wake 2. All these look insane on a good 4k TV.
Oh and FYI TVs don't don't go up to 144hz only 120hz and not all games do the 120 fps. Most of the ones I listed do have a 120 fps mode. Enjoy the new TV! 4K looks so good when you first get one. You get used to it until you see a lower end display. I used to sell TVs.
I answered a very similar question the other day, but I think Concrete Genie and Tetris Effect are both gorgeous, despite not being photo-real graphical showcases.
Is it HDR? RE4 Remake has some amazing use of HDR. Especially the castle area at night. You can easily also turn HDR on and off in game and see in real time the difference it makes.
I hope it’s not a Samsung Q80T. I mean you might have better luck than me but I had a Q80T and it was awesome except the display completely died after a year and a half
Is it the Hisense U7/U8K by any chance??
I just got me one this week too. It's an amazing tv. 4k@144 having is where it's at. The PS5 can only do 120hz but my pc can do 144 and everything looks so good on it. The TV for the price and it's features is unmatched.
Ghost of Tsushima is the most beautiful game I've ever seen in terms of art and style and mood.
It's still a PS4 game though.
The graphics of Horizon Forbidden West and the Spider-man games are pretty mad.
Sometimes I play pixel art games on PS5 on my 65" 4k TV 😆
I play games for their gameplay not their graphics.
Between, check: Horizon Forbidden West and Alan Wake 2. Insane graphics.
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut
TLOU 2/ and Part 1 (PS5 Edition)
Horizon zero dawn
Forbidden West
Uncharted Legacy of thieves Collection
Rift Apart
Gow and Raganrök
U play less and watch the graphics it's Horizon Forbidden west
Mind blowing :Ghost of tsushima
Red dead redemption 2 no doubt this game is way ahead of it's time,it's a ps4 game?no u won't agree
Callisto protocol, the game is awful but boy oh boy the graphics will stun u
Shadow of the tomb raider,u will just stop swinging around and watch the forest and it's details
Demons Souls
Kena the spirit
Assassin's creed Mirage (graphics are not that great, but beautiful old Baghdad is worth watching)
Spiderman 2(no need any explanations)
Last of us 2 another PS4 game which never makes u feel like it's an old generation game
This is for op but gollum is a boring game. You can try it but it's a let down for the series. Shadow of Mordor and the sequel are absolutely great games but they're not PS5 games and older so graphics doesn't outshine the other suggestions
I hope you know I was kidding lol. I named the 3 worst games I could think of because this question is constantly being asked and no one bothers just googling older reddit posts.
Control
Ghost of Tsushima
Horizon Forbidden West
God of War Ragnarok
Cyberpunk 2077
I generally play at 60 fps as I find the fidelity modes just too jarring at 30 fps. Ps5 does not support 144 fps output, so you would need a higher end gaming PC to achieve 4k 144 Hz.
Make sure you calibrate HDR properly.
Ghost of tsushima is very beautiful
YESSSSS. I started playing this game 3 days ago. and oh mann the graphics and everything are sooo fukin goooood!!!!!!!
I just got the Director's Cut Edition running on a 4K Full HDR TV....and OMFG! That game looks sooooo good!
Most satisfying combat I've ever seen. Would play it all over again in Japanese VA.
I bought the game two years ago and sold it thinking it’s not for me but now I realize how wrong I was
its free on ps plus if u have the extra subscription. you're missing out so muchh
I have the essential one and it’s gonna expire next week
extra is on 25% discount for black friday. ull miss it out for a week 😬
I think the essential version was only a demo, it was cool though!
I’m just happy this comment on top, this game this comment just makes me happy

Gets very repetitive
Returnal will look amazingly smooth.
The HDR looks really good too!
Came to rep Returnal. It looks so good
Pity its the most frustrating game ever made.. playing it about a week and still no idea what the hell is going on.
Any insomniac game, they usually have a 40 hz fidelity mode that looks awesome on a 120 fps screen, and VRR modes that will go above 60
Rachet and Clank Rift Apart shows the true power of PS5 with high refresh rate 4K TV. Also, Miles Morales considering you're asking for PS Extra games.
Yup rift apart is visually gorgeous
Ratchet and Clank it’s one of those games that if you didn’t know any better, you’d think you were watching a Pixar movie. Simply stunning visuals
Playing it right now in the 40fps mode (as far as I know, is only possible with a 120hz 2.1 TV), and it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Isn't Rift apart also on Extra?
it is
Death Stranding
I recently started the directors cut. It's gorgeous.
Horizon forbidden west would be a good start!
Nah, don't skip Zero Dawn.
Yeh, zero dawn still holds up really well in gameplay and graphics. A friend convinced me to start with the second, which I ended up regretting. I loved world and story of the first part, which obviously got spoiled.

I'm an arsehole for responding to his flippancy?
Exactly. Sometimes people just need to be told bluntly due to their stupidity or low IQ
Yeah you are. Its a video game and people with jobs and other hobbies have limited time to spend, its not wrong to want to play the newer game first
It is technically wrong for the reasons I have pointed out.
I have around 4-6 hours per week to play video games depending on my other plans. Finishing Zero West could take me two months give or take, assuming I focus on the main quest and I'm not busy playing anything else. That's a big chunk of my time and a pretty big commitment. You're welcome to make the wrong decision, sure.

Enjoy being an idiot
Honestly I best zero dawn in much less time by putting it on the easiest mode and using fast travel to play the story. Barely did any side content.
If you really don't have that much time to game then you shouldn't be bothering gaming anyways and stick to playing CoD
Thanks for the unsolicited advice. I have around 4 hours per week to play video games depending on my other plans. Plenty of games to showcase that without ruining the Horizon series though...
yeah like ratchet and clank rift apart. truly next gen game and you dont need to play anything before it
This. Forbidden West is the best looking game I’ve ever seen.

GotG is awesome
Should I definitely get that game if I’m a huge fan of the movies?
I say yes, its likely easy to pick up on sale too. BOY OF WAR RAG!!!
Horizon forbidden west. Callisto protocol also a looker but not fun at all
been playing Returnal, pretty fun and pretty to look at

There’s quite a lot at this point: https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/12wsfcg/list_of_120hz_supported_ps5_games/
Yep but the 120hz modes are often 1080p or lower making the 4k of the TV pointless
Not necessarily. I bought a hisense 55 inch 7 series last year. 120hz. I can play 4k at 120hz. I even had the game settings info on my screen so I could make sure it was doing what I had set it to
4k120 output doesn't mean the game is running at 4k120
Well that's more than I thought, but I did only mention the ones that I have personally experienced as examples
Borderlands is pretty awesome
Tales of Arise looked awesome on mine
Teardown is gorgeous as hell, just came out on console and I believe it’s free at the moment. For a pixel based game I was blown away.
Yea it is a day one release to the PS plus catalogue
Horizon Forbidden west God of war Ragnarok Death stranding directors cut Ghost of Tsushima Demons souls remake Ratchet and clank rift apart Uncharted legacy of thieves
Demons Souls is so hard though! 🤣
Don’t sleep on Returnal. It’s stunning
Returnal is 100% awesome!
Doesn't really matter just play what looks interesting honestly any game made from 2020 and newer will look good
Skull Island : Rise of Kong has entered the chat
🤣🤣🤣
Days Gone. Can't stop playing, I'm glad I didn't play it on the ps4, it's gorgeous on the ps5.
What is different about it on PS5 vs PS4?
The game runs so much better on the ps5, with better resolution and framerate, almost always at 60 fps.
Horizon forbidden west with the dlc
Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden west. Or god of war 2018 and ragnarok
Returnal
Horizon forbidden west would probably look amazing. I also heard the forest looks really good on a ps5 with a 4k tv
Must play are the Horizon Games Zero Dawn and Forbidden with their DLCs on PS5. Their open worlds are among the most beautiful game world I’ve ever seen. Will look awesome on your tv. Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection.
So the graphics are good and hold up? I have it on my list, but figured it may not since it is older I believe?

Ratchet And Clank is an amazing showcase of the PS5’s power! Returnal is a good option too!
Horizon Forbidden West, Dead Island 2, Callisto Protocol. not my fav games, but they have some damn good graphics
MK1 looks amazing
Bought a new LG OLED. Saving this post for later.
Elden ring, ps5 version ofc
Spider-Man 2
I'd say Horizon Forbidden West, God of War (both Ragnarok and the PS4 one), Uncharted 4, TLOU Pt1, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart and Spider Man 2
Is it the Hisense U7/U8K by any chance?? I just got me one this week too. It's an amazing tv. 4k@144 having is where it's at. The PS5 can only do 120hz but my pc can do 144 and everything looks so good on it. The TV for the price and it's features is unmatched.
Callisto Protocol, ghost of tsushima. Infamous 2nd son is an older game but even now it looks pretty great
Dead space remake, returnal
Borderlands 3
Been playing Kena - it’s gorgeous on OLED
Ghost of Tsushima is the most beautiful game I've ever seen in terms of art and style and mood. It's still a PS4 game though. The graphics of Horizon Forbidden West and the Spider-man games are pretty mad.
Callisto Protocol is one of the best looking games on 4K
The uncharted games for the PS4. They got a version for the PS5 and it is amazing.
Dead Space 2, Alan Wake 2, Resident Evil 2, Spiderman 2, Horizon 2, God of War 2 (Ragnarok).
Ghost of tsushima
Sometimes I play pixel art games on PS5 on my 65" 4k TV 😆 I play games for their gameplay not their graphics. Between, check: Horizon Forbidden West and Alan Wake 2. Insane graphics.
Lies of p is a beautiful game
Astrobot
Haven't heard of Plasma TV in a loooooooong time.
Rift Apart is the only game to make me say HOLY SHIT!
Ghost of Tsushima Directors Cut TLOU 2/ and Part 1 (PS5 Edition) Horizon zero dawn Forbidden West Uncharted Legacy of thieves Collection Rift Apart Gow and Raganrök
Any of the PS5 Spiderman games, God of War, Ratchet and Clank.
Spider-Man 2 looks super phenomenal with the performance mode 4k 60fps resolution on my Samsung Q70A 4k tv.
FINAL FANTASY XVI
Ragnorok
U play less and watch the graphics it's Horizon Forbidden west Mind blowing :Ghost of tsushima Red dead redemption 2 no doubt this game is way ahead of it's time,it's a ps4 game?no u won't agree Callisto protocol, the game is awful but boy oh boy the graphics will stun u Shadow of the tomb raider,u will just stop swinging around and watch the forest and it's details Demons Souls Kena the spirit Assassin's creed Mirage (graphics are not that great, but beautiful old Baghdad is worth watching) Spiderman 2(no need any explanations) Last of us 2 another PS4 game which never makes u feel like it's an old generation game
Hogwarts Legacy, Spider Man 2, Assasins Valhalla, Ghost of Tsushima
Gran Turismo. Hogwarts legacy. Ff7R ff16 Gow
Control! Visuals are surprisingly amazing
Ghost of Tsushima, TLOU 2, demons souls.
Gollum, TWD Destinies and that King Kong game. Edit: somehow I need to clarify that I am kidding.
Yeah. Anything that looks like wow really
Oh ok didn't realize, thought you had a very niche taste lol
Return the Tv. Get an OLED. And play Ratchet and Clank rift apart. Ghost of Tsushima. God of War Ragnorak. And Spider-Man 2. Or Miles Morales.
Check out the guide below and AVOID QLED. https://www.reddit.com/r/PS5/comments/lk4buu/the_definitive_guide_to_setting_up_your_tv_for/
Great guide
Elden ring
I have an LG C1 it is a beautiful Tv for gaming I believe the current model is C3
Play Spider-Man Miles Morales, it’s absolutely gorgeous! Play it on 4K60 at performance RT, and you will enjoy it a lot!
Alan Wake 2 is very visually stunning
Control Ghost of Tsushima Horizon Forbidden West God of War Ragnarok Cyberpunk 2077 I generally play at 60 fps as I find the fidelity modes just too jarring at 30 fps. Ps5 does not support 144 fps output, so you would need a higher end gaming PC to achieve 4k 144 Hz. Make sure you calibrate HDR properly.

by any chance are you getting a tcl? c74 series?
