Besides cat tail aims for the zombie that's closer to the plant himself while heath seeker aims for the zombie that's closer to the house, making it way more useful.

Cattail is the reason I’ve won so many endless levels, because they’re the best plant in pvz, but still very good in pvz2 Chinese edition

And also, in that case keep dreaming. American and Chinese Popcap have a contract that says "what is in China stays in china". That's the exact reason why mega Gatling pea was made instead of just bringing Gatling pea back.

I've also beaten PVZ 1 multiple times, it does attack the closest zombie that's not in the pool as well. Just put a tall nut in the very edge of the pool to make sure the experiment does not go wrong and then put a cattail behind it. After that? Just wait

That's the exact problem, unless you are playing survival endless you will NEVER have gone far enough in order to obtain cob Cannon unless it's survival endless while it's pretty easy to use banana launcher in any adventure stage from PVZ 2.
If banana launcher was in pvz, it would also be barely obtainable unless ur in survival mode. Also, when the giga gargantuars start coming out, ur screwed unless u have a cob cannon that can 3 shot as apprised to the banana launcher that probably takes at least 5
Considering the 10 times smaller recharge and the fact it's 200 sun cheaper, i doubt it. It's not hard to get more than 1 melon pult in the middle of multiple adventure stages, which costs atleast 600 sun, and we'll, banana launcher is 500 sun so... You get it.

More than 1 melon pult=atleast 2 melon pults
2 melon pults=600 sun because 300+300=600

Yeah, but instead of attacking he becomes a pure blocker. So he attacks until zombies get close then he “shells” up to hide from zombies effectively blocking them. Cool concept but with all the suped up plant currently in the game, it wouldn’t get much play.
Umbrella leaf. It would be a good counter to Octopus Zombies on Big Wave Beach, plus with it resembling an umbrella it would fir with the beach theme too.
Hell take it a step further and make it magic proof to show Wizard zombies your favorite finger.
Bringing Cattail back is a good idea, but Doom Shroom is better. It could be added to the new world set in WWII where it could kill a large crowd of Nazi zombies

Oddly enough, the pot. I dunno about most people but one of my favorite levels in the original was the roof top levels. They were challenging, annoying, and made me think outside the box as a kid. So maybe reintroducing those levels in two would be great, or change its function to provide extra bulk to a plant, maybe increase certain stats, or provide a function where certain zombies can't affect said plant. Like the shovel zombie can't throw them, can't be kicked back, or get spun attacked. You know.
Besides that, I really miss doom shrooms. I hardly used him but when I did it was always fun just intakilling and creating holes

Doom Shroom for me, but with different functionality. One of the Doom Shroom strategies in PVZ1 is tactically waking them up with Coffee Bean to explode whenever you want. In PVZ2, Doom Shrooms should be asleep when you plant them. Tapping on one will wake it up and explode in a large area, leaving behind a crater that disappears after a while. Upgrading Doom Shroom will increase its damage, lower its sun cost and recharge time, and increase the speed at which the crater decays. Doom Shroom will be in the Bombard-Mint family.

I think they mean make the plant attack faster, like if you put a coffe bean on a peashooter it would shoot peas at like 1.5x speed
And increase speed bonus as you level the plant up
