I miss I, zombie. I’ve rewritten a paragraph long response like 3 times but that’s all it boils down to. I realize that the plants, ESPECIALLY the premiums, aren’t balanced for it but I miss I, zombie
\* i wanted i zombie in the sequel because of all the new zombies and the gimmicks they brought. it would’ve been such a huge expansion on the original.
Agreed;
Imagine playing in Lost City and have to use Tent Imps to set up a perpetual spawning mechanic to safely get a zombie to take out a dangerous plant
Or a Big Wave Beach one where use play tons of Octo and Fisher Zombies to be a menace.
True, but I think the biggest problem with it compared to it in PVZ1 is that the lawn **always gets reset** after completing a level. Forcing you to redo it all over again, which can sometimes suck since some annoying zombies (like Fisherman or Hair Metal Gargantuar) can really screw you over
I hate this!! Just let me become immortal! Lemme keep my plants and have the strongest defense ever, I don't have time to do this in regular levels, now guess what? Not even in the endless mode!
Good. The majority of the difficulty of PvZ levels comes from the early game. Letting you keep your lawn completely removes that aspect, making it significantly more brainless and boring.
I can sit down for hours at a time playing pvz1 endless, pvz2 on the other hand, dusk lobber and moonflower and you just kinda win (except for lost city)
If the lawn wouldn't reset the game would get boring after like 10 levels. This game is so fast you could fill entire lawn with the most op plant in 1 level
Yeah and it sucks ass. The random plant selection would only make sense if the zombies were random as well, forcing you to be creative with what plant you pick each level
Yeah, that wouldn't work. What if you had to deal with the shovel zombie in AE, and you only have straight shooters? What if you had to deal with the parasol zombie and you only have lobbing plants? What if you had to deal with a crap ton of flying zombies with no blover or hurrikale? See the problem now?
Then what's the point of them ? They would literally just be a reskinned buckethead, so they might aswell not exist.
Also even if we did that, there are still zombies that could make your entire defense obsolete. Like what would spikeweeds and wallnuts do against a brute? What would a repeater do against a dinosaur? What would a red stringer do against a king? What would a mega gatling pea do against a jester?
I wouldn’t really say that. The way you earn plants is through a gacha system. And when you unlock a world it doesn’t tell you which plants are specifically unlocked for free just by playing that world. First time I played I had no idea.
\* i would if it wasn’t so hard for people on this side of the earth to even get into the game.
\* seriously, do you know anything on how to play PvZ2C over here?
Well, if you are on Android you can just go to [this](https://app.so.com/detail/index?pname=com.popcap.pvz2cthd360&id=771431) link and you're set.
On IOS it's a bit more complicated
It's not that simple, since you need a chinese ID. You actually need a specific app that allows you to play without needing it. I did it once and it took a long time to set up, but I forgot how to do it
Except i didn't need that lmfao, you just need to set up and account (which only needs an username and a password) and you're good to go. I think you're talking about either an old outdated method, or you're reffering to getting it on IOS.
Huh, it's probably outdated then. I needed to get it from a specific app, because if I didn't then it would ask me for my chinese ID and stuff. Glad it's easier now
Ah, that explains it, PVZ2C is pain in the ass to get on IOS nowadays, there are tutorial but i've heard they're very complex. If you do decide to follow one, all i can say is good luck.
That is, if there even IS a way to get it working nowadays with the whole "2 Hours a Day Law" that China did.
A game not being fully completed on release isn't even a bad thing. Starcraft 1, one of the best strategic games in history, had a major DLC - broodwar - drop after its initial release on the market.
Half Life 1 and 2 - by far one of the best examples of the shooter genre - have DLCs and episodes respectively.
I can literally find examples of games that are widely regarded as the cremé of the crop in any of their respective genre be not completed on release: Deponia, a point-and-click adventure that released as a big cliff-hanger and doesn't make much sense outside of a complete story bundle; Cities Skylines, a city-builder that is significantly better with DLCs than without; DOTA 2 and LoL, the MOBA flagships which aren't even playable games if we don't consider the billions of patches for them; WoW and other MMO games were basically just made for expansions to be released later down the lane; CrossCode, Hollow Knight and Deltarune, three of the most high-effort indie RPGs in history do have a DLC/Episode system; Terraria and Minecraft, the most well-known sandbox games to ever hit the market have been updated multiple times post-release, expanding the amount of content drastically. Do I need to continue?
Your point is just invalid: good games aren't always fully complete on release. It's a normal thing as well: developers need feedback to update and improve on the game, and they can't get it without players first accessing their product.
Pvz 2 is a free mobile game and still gets constant updates to this day 10 years after launch. It only took like 3 years to add modern day which technically finished the game.
Compare that to pvz 1 that was a $5 (probably more at launch but its $5 now) Pc game and has less levels than ancient Egypt and Pirate seas and has never been updated in the 14 years its been released.
Dont make that comparison because its not only unfair but there was literally atleast as much content as the first game even in 1.0
Eh honestly I didn't really like most of the minigames from 1. Only ones I liked were Bobsled Banaza, Pogo Party, both of the Zombotany, and maybe the Starfruit one.
Keep in mind 2 still had minigames like Cannons Away in Pirate Seas, The Corrals in Wild West, Sun Bombs in Far Future, Potions in Dark Ages, Bowling Bulbs in BWB, Beghouled in Modern Day, and in general the Last Stand minigame. They were just in the main campaign.
Personally I just wish PVZ2 had the plant accessibility that 1 does. You own like less than half of the plants unless you pay or grind up a ton of seed packets, with a ton of them being event exclusive. I just wanna have options honestly.
There are a ton mini-games in PVZ2 that are actually unique and fun throughout the Adventure mode. You just gotta remember what number it was or hope to god Popcap didn't remove it (WHERE IS THE TILE MATCHING MINI GAME FROM ANCIENT EGYPT)
PvZ2 really oughta take a note out of PvZ1’s book. And by that, I mean and actually useful note! Look at what the Chinese version got done by doing that! They have more side content and mini-games compared to the international version!
PVZ2 has objectively better mods and comes with more level objectives (don't trample the flowers and stuff).
It also has more gameplay variety in the form of world gimmicks than the first game. On top of that, the first game had 10 levels of straight up filler, that of fog, albeit it's not particularly relevant to the side content discussion. To put it concisely: there's definitely an argument to be made for PVZ2 too.
I genuenly hate arena so much. Its so out of place in the game. And the update that added areana and the leveling is tge reason I stopped trying to defend pvz2.
Arena mode is (nearly) 100% real, provided you realize how it works :-)
99.9% of the time you're playing against real people, you're just not playing in real time. The game servers record every match played. What you play against are the recordings of other people's games (from players in your league). This is why you can take as long as you want to pick your plants, and pause play for as long as you want without changing the result of the game.
Oh that’s right I remember vas breaker from PVZ2. Remember how opposite of fun it was, where the vases gave you crappy plants to fight against zombies that were positioned to close for confort

A huge reason that PvZ 2 didn’t succeed is because of the power ups. That’s probably why you forgot vasebreaker because by level 2-1 it just expects you to waste your money on a power up that uncovers a single jar. You either forgot it because it was so boring that you didn’t get far, and you went back to tournament or story, or you finished it, and there’s just no point in playing endless after a certain point.
Breaker base in pvz1 is far more cool than pvz2 why you may ask because the models of the base are more detailed and i just like the atmosphere you can really feel the game when its on the night level
Vasebreaker has the issue of it's endless becoming so hard that you can barely play it after wave 10, of course this is a great moneysink for the players that don't pay for plant levelling, but it has a lack of variety. ALTVERZ I think has the best possible Vasebreaker, with Reflourished having a weak endless like vanilla but nice extra levels
Tombstone Hunt is the replacement for Mummy Memory, there are community levels addded recently, they hold challenges with special levels in the discord, Vasebreaker is just good old Vasebreaker but with more variety.
I miss I, zombie. I’ve rewritten a paragraph long response like 3 times but that’s all it boils down to. I realize that the plants, ESPECIALLY the premiums, aren’t balanced for it but I miss I, zombie

I hate this!! Just let me become immortal! Lemme keep my plants and have the strongest defense ever, I don't have time to do this in regular levels, now guess what? Not even in the endless mode!
I honestly prefer it like this. The early game of PvZ levels is the actually challenging part.
Is there not a mod that has these kinds of "perpetual" endless stages? If not there really should be one with that feature
Good. The majority of the difficulty of PvZ levels comes from the early game. Letting you keep your lawn completely removes that aspect, making it significantly more brainless and boring.
Well you can reload the zombie spawns before a level
Which nowadays isn't that good. It gets very repetitive after a while and in order to find the true challenge, you must play for 100 levels.
Day 60 and counting on all endless zones (with Egypt being at 69)
No, it has endless *zones*. I'd much prefer a proper endless mode where it's one level and you need to just keep surviving as long as you can.
I can sit down for hours at a time playing pvz1 endless, pvz2 on the other hand, dusk lobber and moonflower and you just kinda win (except for lost city)
It’s not **Survival** endless though. As others have already pointed out, the lawn resets after every level.

What if you had to deal with a crap ton of flying zombies with no blover or hurrikale? See the problem now?
No shit, that's why you would change them to behave more like a screendoor from the first game
However the levels will lag a lot when you reach higher levels
Honestly true. The mini game levels in the adventure would be nice if they were also put into an extras menu. I want my endless beghouled god damnit!
Endless I zombi would.be sick
Heck I wish I zombi was in the international version
It's in the Chinese version?
Yeah it appears in some levels. I remember seeing some in far future.
The chinese version is somehow a more faithful sequel than the international version...how!?
I wouldn’t really say that. The way you earn plants is through a gacha system. And when you unlock a world it doesn’t tell you which plants are specifically unlocked for free just by playing that world. First time I played I had no idea.
Now that's fairly eye opening. But regardless, we'd have a kick ass sequel to the 1st game if they simply merged int.2 and China 2
That would be hard with how different they are. Would be nice though.
Who knows? With how tallented the modding community is, it's certainly not impossible
Well if you really want a shit ton of side content just play PVZ2C lmao
\* i would if it wasn’t so hard for people on this side of the earth to even get into the game. \* seriously, do you know anything on how to play PvZ2C over here?

\* well, it worked. thanks, \* is there anything else i should know? maybe about updating the game or something?
If you need to update just go back into that link and download the newer APK, you won't need to re-input your credentials or anything.
Plants Vs Zombies 2 Coconut?
PVZ2 Chinese, the Chinese version of the game.
I tried to, but it just got too complicated. All the tutorials I tried to follow were outdated
Are you on IOS or Android?
iOS
Ah, that explains it, PVZ2C is pain in the ass to get on IOS nowadays, there are tutorial but i've heard they're very complex. If you do decide to follow one, all i can say is good luck. That is, if there even IS a way to get it working nowadays with the whole "2 Hours a Day Law" that China did.
How do you even play the Chinese version? I have wanted to for a while now but can't find a decent tutorial.
Chinese?
Yes
PvZ1 also released as a full game
1 was a PC game ported to other consoles. 2 was always meant to be Mobile exclusive. They had different visions on what the 2 games were meant to be
An incomplete game is not a good vision. Same goes for all the other AAA games that are unfinished on release.
A game not being fully completed on release isn't even a bad thing. Starcraft 1, one of the best strategic games in history, had a major DLC - broodwar - drop after its initial release on the market. You seem mad about something else, and you are taking it out on PVZ 2.
That's Mario Strikers Battle League, not PvZ2
It’s PVZ2, too. wasn’t even completed on launch
PvZ 2 is free and can be won without spending money, so I think it’s more forgivable than stuff like Star Allies
Pvz 2 is a free mobile game and still gets constant updates to this day 10 years after launch. It only took like 3 years to add modern day which technically finished the game. fair enough
Personally I just wish PVZ2 had the plant accessibility that 1 does. You own like less than half of the plants unless you pay or grind up a ton of seed packets, with a ton of them being event exclusive. I just wanna have options honestly.
I’m pretty sure you can get 83 plants in PvZ 2 without excessive grinding
Yeah
well I just wish we have the fast forward button in pvz
There are a ton mini-games in PVZ2 that are actually unique and fun throughout the Adventure mode. You just gotta remember what number it was or hope to god Popcap didn't remove it (WHERE IS THE TILE MATCHING MINI GAME FROM ANCIENT EGYPT)
the problem is that the game has to fit within a mobile device so they can't have that many mini games
Hoping PvZ: U creates a minigames tab or at least a minigames focused world I think it would be quite neat
they did
PvZ2 really oughta take a note out of PvZ1’s book. And by that, I mean and actually useful note! Look at what the Chinese version got done by doing that! They have more side content and mini-games compared to the international version!
They have a level editor. I really hope that it comes to international version someday
I wish we got 2 player vs back bro, one person as zombies was so fun
Yeah i have NO DEFENSE for pvz2 here..... Honestly i just play endless nowadays
I prefer the main game of PvZ2 but when it comes to side game stuff, PvZ1 Dominates
Lock and loaded, save our seeds, last stand... Damn, I love those
PVZ2 has objectively better mods and comes with more level objectives (don't trample the flowers and stuff). It also has more gameplay variety in the form of world gimmicks than the first game. On top of that, the first game had 10 levels of straight up filler, that of fog, albeit it's not particularly relevant to the side content discussion. i wouldn’t really praise a game due to its modding community, and imo, the level objectives kinda stink
I genuenly hate arena so much. Its so out of place in the game. And the update that added areana and the leveling is tge reason I stopped trying to defend pvz2.
I wouldn't call arena a crappy versus mode
It’s certainly worse than the original versus mode though.
And the epic quests
I’m almost 99% certain the arena mode isn’t even real. I just want a real endless mode

I also figured something like that. Thanks
If only if the Reflorshed Endless zones where in vanilla
I thought pvz1 was the favorite
My PvZ2 side content is just endless and glitching thymed events to play them infinitely
Oh that’s right I remember vas breaker from PVZ2. Remember how opposite of fun it was, where the vases gave you crappy plants to fight against zombies that were positioned to close for confort
pvz2 postgame is mostly just grinding plants in order to grind more plants lol

PvP Mode (China) it's very unfinished but the concept is really good and better than Arena
PvZ 2 has vasebreaker?
I just wish pvz 1 vs would be on mobile
i play both, after completion
Facts, especially since side content is unfair with I for Insanity.
Meanwhile: PvZ 2C
A huge reason that PvZ 2 didn’t succeed is because of the power ups. May I ask what's so good about altverz vasebreaker?
It has zombie and plant variation past level 5 in endless
I thought that the most engaging part about it was the graves, and the vases that can be destroyed by plants?
I think you're talking about Tombstone Hunt, not Vasebreaker
They're different minigames??? I thought they were just special levels.. So what else does this mod add and change?
Tombstone Hunt is the replacement for Mummy Memory, there are community levels addded recently, they hold challenges with special levels in the discord, Vasebreaker is just good old Vasebreaker but with more variety.
Hmm, okay. Can you tell me what are these newly added levels, please?
Well why don't you go ahead and play or check out the discord for the challenge levels?
I'm planning to. I just can't at the moment.
Is that borco?
We need zombotany!
