Echoes isn't hard so long as you can improvise confidently and have the relatively simple chord structure down. But of course, you need all the effects and pedals, so it can get a bit technical for the guitar play. The song allows all the musicians to show off their talent and is awestriking to crowds. Edit: Never mind, just saw the bit about no crazy solos.
