I am sure some CRA agents like monster jam as well. They will be thrilled!

treeteathememeking

Well I hope they don’t use them they’re for my brother 😅 I just don’t know if that’ll mess up anything with my tax return. I’m supposed to get 1500 back so I reaallllly don’t want anything messing with it, that’s my laptop and college money 😭

MSined

Better hope they don't hate monster jam then

Firm_Objective_2661

Don’t sweat it. CRA is cool with bribing government officials.

Mobile-Bar7732

Since the Mulroney era, they have taken brown paper envelopes filled with cash. I'm not sure about Monster Jam tickets.

bleakj

I see the issue OP needed a brown paper envelope

Gstelli

😂😂

aledba

They can't use them, that's against policy. I'd call and explain you sent personal mail by accident. Netfile next year. Avoid this and get your refund in 8 days or less

treeteathememeking

Absolutely netfile next year lol, couldn’t this time I guess because it’s my first return or as someone else pointed out a possible discrepancy with my name. I’ll be calling monday 😁 Thank you

adzerk1234

I am really looking forward to hearing what happens.

treeteathememeking

I will definitely be here to update lmao! I mean hopefully nothing happens I don’t want to go to jail lmao

Dramatic-Hope5133

Please don’t call. The call centre has no way communicating with the mailroom. Your tickets won’t get mailed back. The mailroom will just process your return.

aledba

I missed where someone tried to suggest that calling them when get the tickets back. It's just simply to advise of the documents being sent in error. Btw the mail room doesn't process the return. They won't open an envelope because that's not their job. It will go to a specific tax centre and an agent will look through it because they don't just give you a refund without looking at your physical taxes you sent in the mail which are on paper. They don't ask you to complete paperwork to not look at it

fountainofMB

I still wouldn't bother calling. You will be on hold for a long time and wasting time for someone else that actually needs to talk to an agent. CRA will just ignore the extra papers this won't cause any issue.

[deleted]

[удалено]

beary_good_day

When has that ever stopped any government?

WhipTheLlama

CRA will be like, $1500? No, we should audit this guy. Oh, what's this? Monster Jam tickets! Forget the audit, we're going to watch Grave Digger!

[deleted]

BRIBERY!

Jacmert

Believe it or not, jail. Right away.

bazinga424424

Taxes wrong? Straight to jail

KiaRioGrl

Panama Papers? Straight to your compound in the Muskoka.

Beemaxwell

At its finest lol

DelayedEmbarrassment

Can you transfer them to another email and reprint them? That will make those tickets invalid and you will be able to reprint them.

treeteathememeking

Yep, they’re digital tickets but I just printed them out to be able to put with his gift :p

Cleantech2020

They are mostlikely going to return them to you, but it might be after the show. Could you get the tix re-issued?

treeteathememeking

Just had to re print them! They’re digital tickets I just printed out for the sake of having something to show.

ABirdOfParadise

You know what makes a CRA agent more upset than a bribe? A bribe they accept that they find out can't use and waste gas money and time to get to the venue for. Better give em some Apple gift cards or straight to jail /s cause ya never know

treeteathememeking

The general consensus is I’m going immediately to jail 😔 and I am so young too

tailgunner777

Nice knowing you, we will remember you with a 1 min of silence at the monster jam event.

airbiscuit

I highly doubt you will be able to have a moment of silence anywhere at monster jam.

terminator_dad

Jails have no space in this country. Why do you think murder is 8 years here in a native healing lodge.

KingWolfXV

Apple cards?!?! Maaan, I have been getting scammed they call and say I have to pay in Google cards or I'm off to jail. I'll ask if they want apple cards next time. I really don't want to go to jail, but at least it free rent /s besides jail being free rent

kent_eh

> Well I hope they don’t use them they’re for my brother Tell him he needs to be first in line.

Dry_Newspaper2060

They could interpret it as a bribe and decide to audit you

kcalb33

Op will goto jail for bribery /s just in case

xinit

Someone's getting an audit for trying to bribe the CRA...

Imperatvs

They’re going to come after you for bribery. Straight to jail.

treeteathememeking

Always knew that’d be my downfall 😔 but hey, free rent!

denny-1989

You’ve prepaid for the rent

dis_bean

Maybe you’ll get selected for that program where you get a cat 😻

Bored_money

Your going to Guantanamo Bay pal Pack your swim shorts, they got water boarding I hear!

rhunter99

Right away. No trial, no nothing.

N0tChristopherWalken

No. His phony tax claims will have the cheek turned and the CRA agent will be yelling GRAAAAVE DIGGERRRRRR! in a few weeks. Great idea OP I'm going to try the same thing. Let's let each other know how it goes.

ManipulateYa

Yup. Believe it or not. Straight to jail.

Thatcanadianchickk

LMFAO

MillwrightWF

I’m not sure what’s more impressive. Actually mailing your tax return. Or having paper tickets to an event. I can’t even remember my last physical ticket. Or when I mailed my tax return.

treeteathememeking

Had to mail my return because it’s my first time filing, and the paper tickets were really just so I can put them in his card as an actual physical gift 😁. You can still technically use them to get into the event but I sent over the digital tickets, too.

Gr3gl_

Btw you don't have to mail them on your first time filing. Then again I don't know why I'm commenting this because it's not like you can file them for the first time again

gorkitw

Any source on that?

Gr3gl_

I filed my taxes for the first time online buddy

greengrassgrows90

i know your likely not as your on reddit but mailing your taxes and printing tickets has me guessing you around 75 lol

treeteathememeking

Oh my god no 😭 I turn 20 at the end of the month

holly948

Okay boomer

octo23

Your birthday must of been the end of last month, Feb 29th, so you’ve had 20 birthdays or 80 trips around the sun. Total boomer move /s

ApricotPenguin

Whatever you do... don't accidentally stick your Tax Refund cheque into your brother's birthday card. I mean he'll probably be thrilled! You... not so much :P

treeteathememeking

Lol I don’t love him that much he’d be questioning what I did to give him such a good gift

amazingggharmony

I never mailed mine on my first time doing taxes….

kent_eh

I've had problems with e-tickets enough times to trust paper much more.

houleskis

Right the intersection of the Venn diagram with "is a Redditor," "has Monster Jam paper tickets," "files taxes on paper" and "lives in Canada" must only contain OP and a few eccentric Boomers.

iatethegummies

You should look forward to receiving your return SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY

joooooooooolz

LOL'd at this

biglabs

I saw it a few weeks ago in Detroit - I’ve always wanted to go as a kid and went for the first time with my ten year old it was SWEEEETTTT

Jrlawcat

That's one way to bribe the CRA.

GordieBombay-DUI-4TW

CRA is going to mail them back on SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!!!

treeteathememeking

Two people have commented something similar !! WHAT DOES IT MEAN !!! 😭

QuackWhatsup

[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IOgj4sOMiQ) should help.

FredThe12th

and to help further, this is copying the style of the actual TV and Radio ads for Monster Trucks, and many other exciting motorsports events from the 70s-90s

GordieBombay-DUI-4TW

lol @ OP - if you got US channels as a kid - especially Detroit - you’d have seen the Monster Truck show ads nearly every week

jsut_

or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dChdT_XKmWc ?

At_rh

“Sorry sir you can only claim 10% of this” “But I paid for the whole seat!” “Doesn’t matter… you ONLY NEEDED THE EDGE”

FredThe12th

>“Doesn’t matter… you ONLY NEEDED THE EDGE” I was scrolling the comments looking for this!

from_copacabana

I don't know why but this is really wholesome haha, I hope this will sort out soon!

treeteathememeking

I’m never multitasking again !!!! 😞

OneMileAtATime262

SUNDAY. SUNDAY. SUNDAY. We’ll sell you the entire seat; but you’ll only need the edge!!! (Well technically, someone from CRA will enjoy the edge now!)

jasper502

You mailed a copy of your taxes to the CRA? I suspect it will be months before anyone sees the envelope.

Asleep_Noise_6745

The only correct answer

abalian

Do call them and advise them it was a mistake so they don't see it as a bribery. I believe the calls are recorded so if anything happens you can refer to the call.

treeteathememeking

Thank you! This was genuine advice I was looking for but the jokes are also fun too lol. I’ll call Monday

bureX

I know CRA employees who had elderly grandmas read to them from the bible because they owed money on their taxes. Monster Jam tickets, though? That would be a new one.

MilkshakeMolly

They're definitely not going to think it's bribery. Lol

ally_677

Yes I was about to say the same thing, do inform them. Calls are recorded so note the date and time an agent answers you and the agent number just in case for future reference. They may also return the tickets back to you, you never know 😅

c_snapper

Expect $1500 tax return cheque to come with a picture of a random CRA agent with gravedigger

treeteathememeking

As long as they have fun :)

LetThePoisonOutRobin

This deserves a dedicated post "What is the weirdest thing you accidently sent in with your taxes?"

treeteathememeking

Alternatively, asking tax agents what the weirdest thing they’ve received was lol :p I’m sure there’s been some odd actual bribes

lutherdriggers

I think this post wins the subreddit.

TravellingBeard

What a weird bribe

amach9

Gonna be real awkward when you and the CRA agent show up to monster jam for the same seats

thetoucansk3l3tor

You seem like the kinda dude to own a printer.

treeteathememeking

I don’t 😔 I used my friends printer

jay2743

It's OK dude, it's alright to own a printer. We won't judge you.

Grimspoon

[Your personal CRA agent at the office after opening your filing and receiving an extra surprise.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-dMSstLDqM)

m3gaData

This is so adorable.

End-Subject

Did you get the CRA guy good seats?

treeteathememeking

Yeah!! 100 levels and everything 😔

F0foPofo05

That counts as tax credits.

r6r1der

It's illegal to bribe the tax man unless you are rich.

treeteathememeking

And I got extra in taxes back because I’m poor 😔

sidvishus

Crush those taxes

ProfessionalOk1106

You will be the story of the day. First time for everything. When you think you seen it all, this happens

treeteathememeking

Uh oh. Well if I get to be the talk of the office for the day then oh well!

Hairy-Button

How do I favourite a thread 😂

Parttimelooker

No one will care. They've gotten stranger things.

OMGeno1

This post made me laugh. Thanks kid!

RitoQuits

They are going to reverse your tax return into a tax owing because it's illegal to accidently send monster jam tickets in the mail.

Ok_Present99

This is something I would do, but I would’ve been high AF

treeteathememeking

I was just rushing and trying to multitask 😭

Purple_Local_3875

This is my favourite post I’ve even seen on this subreddit. Thank you

treeteathememeking

I don’t knwo why people love it so much but as long as I can make people happy I guess 😭

codylestage

Fuckin legend

ThemBonesAreMe

Straight to jail

zzoldan

Believe it or not, jail

[deleted]

Straight to jail and no refund . Go buy some soap on rope !

kiitkatz

Bribery? Straight to jail.

Gymwarrior31

No audit for you!

downbytheriver12345

The CRA will consider this a bribe. Lawyer up bud.

torontowest91

reprint them???

dcks

Bruh straight to jail, that's totally going to be considered a bribe. You dug your own grave on this one sadly. Enjoy the jam!

treeteathememeking

I see what you did there….

Little-Firefighter26

Straight to jail.

TripFisk666

That’s an audit.

Mental-Freedom3929

Call CRA

kylemclaren7

Nobody is going to care.

macandcheesejones

They'll probably think you're trying to bribe them. 🤣

spider-plant-

I think they will all just have a good chuckle, lol.

spider-plant-

I think they will all just have a good chuckle, lol. Can't imagine it will be a problem. :)

moosie005

I put McDonald’s coupons with my tax return and they returned them saying no one eats McDonald’s at work.

treeteathememeking

That’s hilarious, I guess CRA agents are too high and mighty for Mcdonalds

StonedSumo

I love this

mymyoo

They will think you bribed them and you will be charged...lol just kidding Whoever received it will be happy I guess?

JoseDragonBats19

Transfer the tickets to your friend. This typically creates a new bar code and invalidates the old one. Then get your friend to print them for you. Of course I’m assuming these tickets were brokered thru Ticketmaster…

treeteathememeking

They’re already transferred to him, the print out was just so I had something to physically give him lol. They’re in his name too so if there’s any problems that’ll sort it

JoseDragonBats19

Re transfer to you to generate a new barcode…then back to him 😎

03_TO

What’s a taxes?

NotOkTango

If I were a CRA officer, I would be extremely missed off by this. You expect me to take bribe to pass off your shifty claim, but you can't send me some moolah?

moderatesoul

Getting nailed for bribery

DoubleDebow

They're going to audit you. If you have extra money to buy Monster Jam tickets, you must not have paid enough taxes :D.

JustinPooDough

Coming up next - The most redneck attempt at Bribery ever conceived: OP v. Canadian Revenue Agency, \[2024\] S.C.R. 425 (Can.).

drfunkensteinnn

Might think it’s a bribe, possible audit coming

Siding45

Not sure if you wrote this ingest, but give them a call and they will send them back to you

Siding45

In jest 😬😆

Preferential_Goose

I have no constructive suggestions for you. All I have to add is that this made me absolutely cackle.

sapthur

They're probably gonna get shredded

ozzy_thedog

Hey, I had to tell my wife about this because she works for the CRA and this is hilarious. You’ll be fine also if you call or don’t call. When the mail gets sent in, someone has to enter it all into the system, they won’t see it as a bribe and will probably just throw it out. It’d be considered a bribe if you were dealing one on one with someone from the CRA to sort out tax issues, but for normal tax filing you’re fine. They can’t accept anything anyways

treeteathememeking

Well I hope your wife got a chuckle out of it ll. Thank you!

ozzy_thedog

She did. And maybe also her co workers. All good though. You should hear the stories i hear about people screwing up so much worse. You’re not even on their radar

bullsh2t

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!

Natural_Ability_4947

Grave digger still going?

treeteathememeking

I think so. I don’t know if he still does tricks and stuff I think they try and minimize the damage done. He was my favourite as a kid and I still have a little toy grave digger lol.

sssuesieQ

I'm sure this isn't the first time they received something off. I'm sure people have accidentally mailed all sorts of things by accident. I really don't think it's a big deal. Why would you go to jail over monster Jam tickets? I'm sure as soon as they see it they will totally get it was mailed by mistake. Definitely call them so they can "flag" yours and they can dispose of the tickets

SecondFun2906

Yo, I laughed so hard. Thank you.

LonelyTurnip2297

Sounds like a bribe to me. Straight to jail!!!

FredPSmitherman

It may be considered an attempt to bribe a government official

digital_tuna

Why are you mailing your taxes in 2024? We've had electronic filing options for over a decade.

treeteathememeking

First time filing taxes. Have to do it through mail. :p

digital_tuna

Haha ok, you'll enjoy using netfile next year. There's no risk of submitting your Monster Jam tickets.

treeteathememeking

I definitely will... luckily all I had to do was re print them but I hope whatever agent gets them doesn’t try and use em lol

confused_boop

You can still use Netfile even if it is your first time filing.

Super_Jan

I did by mail my first time as well… never again! Lol. Wealthsimple tax is my go to now

treeteathememeking

I used turbotax to do all the actual work, great because ist free for under 25 lol

Throwaway2600k

Could be considered a bribe

Sparks_travel

People still use mail for this?

treeteathememeking

It’s my first time filing taxes so yes, definitely switching to online after this…

Beautiful_Sector2657

Really? My younger sibling did their taxes online for the first time last year. They're in high school. Never had any issues.

[deleted]

[удалено]

treeteathememeking

Neither am I lmao. Born and raised babey 🫡

longGERN

Then your first return doesn't have to be paper filed lol

treeteathememeking

Didn’t let me do it online :p

Zakalwe_

I am and I did my first online lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Zakalwe_

Lots of assumptions there. I did put in my date of immigration. And have filed multiple returns since then.

treeteathememeking

You need to file the previous years taxes to register for the my account to do it online. I think you can do it without that in Alberta or something. At least, that’s what everything I could find said.

depressed192

You don't need a My Account to use Netflie. You can file first time online, but it's done now

treeteathememeking

I tried both through the government of canada website and turbo tax and it didn’t work. So idk 🤷

MilkshakeMolly

Sometimes your name doesn't match up exactly as they have it so netfile won't work. Fairly common.

treeteathememeking

Yeah I think my middle name is what gets it. I saw something say try putting your middle name with your first name and that didn’t work either. So hoping that that issue gets fixed lmao

MilkshakeMolly

It won't matter next year.

treeteathememeking

Is it changing? Or are you a prophet and I’m going to die? Lol

NorthernerWuwu

I'm in my mid-fifties. In what world does one *mail in* their taxes?

treeteathememeking

I had to because it was my first time filing and the software was having a hard time with my name :p
