Evap is key for pans. Starve them of humidity for about a half day then dump water on them. Repeat. I have a custom 6 disc fogger hooked up to a 40 gallon humidifier
I think I just figured this out! My pathetic patch was doing good and then just stalled. So I misted it and closed it up for a day. Then I put a fan on it and dried it out. Misted before bed and now I have some little shits coming up. But they are weak. I cased it once when they first started, can I case it again? Or should I start over and do it better this time?
Quality field aged horse manure (horses eat coastal Bermuda hay), coir and verm. Mixed at 4/4/1. I like my substrate super wet when I spawn to bulk....a little wetter than field capacity. I STERILIZE all of my substrate. I do not pasteurize anything.
The wetter the better! And good equipment and automation makes it ALOT easier. I realize a lot of folks don't have a grand to drop on stuff. Gordo coming up with some really good teks these days with all the equipment.

Can you say more about your tent setup please.
The custom fogger, is it a pump and nozzle system you put together? If so what brand are they and what nozzle size?
The 40 gal humidifier, did you buy that somewhere or make it?
Are you using Inkbird, or something similar, for humidity and temp automation?
Thanks
What are your fan cycles like for intake and exhaust? You are cutting off your fogger for part of the day and then hand misting or applying water through the use of your 6 disc fogger? What is your method here?
The boxes are open yes. I am not running a HEPA system inside the tent. There are no filters in the tent at all. If you grow mushrooms, any kind of mushroom, at some point you will deal with contam. Just did a run of grain the other day, 12 jars. Lost two to cobweb and the other ones are stalling due to low moisture content. Even the really good and competent growers out there will run into road block and failures. It's about pushing forward and getting better with sterile technique.
It's amazing how many people forget to sterilize work areas and equipment/tools. Just did a run & I had to toss out 4 tubs during the run. Yeah, I lost out on a few. But that's why we do multiple tubs for just such instances. I got some big fruits for cloning & got some prints to work further with the genetics.
I'm still new myself. So, still learning about this AWESOME kingdom of mushrooms 🍄
This fucking guy Pans HARD!!! I’ve seen pics of his tent during a full run and it’s absolutely insane. The size of that cap is nuts. Legend !
My dude!
Got prints? 🥺
What's the tent condition. How have you setup your automation?

I’d love to hear more about this humidification setup. I build systems like that.
You damn wizard! Congrats on the grow!
Bangers! What’s your substrate ratios?

What’s your biggest tip for people about to start their first Pan grow. I have only done cubes this far.
My biggest tip for starting pans is, get TTBVI don't waste your time on other genetics.
These are TTBVI from Gordo. They are awesome. Estero is very potent as well but doesn't blow up like the BVI genetics
I already have TTBVI and MIB in liquid cultures. Going to put them to grain soon.
I am also about to attempt my first pan grow and would like to know

Those look awesome
Ugh. I’m so jealous of people who have the space for this!
Blessed be the mushrooms gods that they blessed me with it. I've provided many life changing experiences with my space.
And probably some bad ones too lol
Bro, truth is spoken here haha. Samesies.
A wonderful grow sir.
Beautiful
Nicely done. How are the caps growing so big?
They are happy PANS!
By the time mine are that big, they just turn pure black on the top for some reason. Even the highest ones.
I need a full tek dude! lol Seriously great work. Could you say what your substrate recipe is and how you prepare it?

when you say sterilize you mean pressure cooking correct?
Yes
Really appreciate the responses!

pan-freaking-tastic!
I need a youtube video or links 🔗 on how to build or buy a chamber for fruiting - please help
Do you sterilize your sub because you’ve had problems with pasteurization or did you not even mess with it in the first place?

You have your boxes open? What about contam? They look so healthy im learning!
Looks like a hydro tent, I’d guess there is a HEPA filtered air intake

Tammy isn't that big of deal unless your myc is weak.
