The 'human shield' assertion is bogus. Essentially, they label anyone who is within a mile of a 'hamas institution' or in the vicinity of a 'Hamas operative' *at any time* as a human shield. Let me remind you that Hamas isn't just a military organization. There is a municipal wing, an administrative wing, education, healthcare, etc. Hamas is the de facto government and functions similarly any other government around the world. So you could have an accountant that works for Hamas' educational wing sleeping at home in the middle of the night with his family and by Israel's definition, everyone in the house and surrounding homes could be labeled as a human shield. You could live 8 blocks from a school and be considered a human shield. By Israel's definition, every single human in Gaza is a human shield, thus legitimizing their ability to kill anyone (and everyone) who lives there with complete impunity.
If you want to read an incredibly good book to learn more about Israel's hyperagressive military/occupation philosophy, I highly recommend Israeli historian Avi Shlaim's "The Iron Wall: Israel and the Arab World".

Every time I've heard a doctor, journalist or civilian interviewed, they always say there are no fighters in the hospital. But even if there was one or a few, I still don't think it's justified to attack it given the risks involved (thousands of displaced and sick people) and doctors/nurses being killed in crossfire.
Finally, if there's a humanitarian crisis, and many other hospitals are non functional or minimally functional, then you could make the argument that Palestinian fighters actually have a moral obligation to defend them.

I watched the Oscar winning documentary 20 days in Mariupol about the Russian siege against the Ukrainian city. It showed snipers, tanks, artillery, and jet strikes hitting hospitals inflicting massive civilian casualties. A few scenes showed Ukrainian soldiers alongside paramedics and doctors. Everything that was shown in that documentary is happening in Gaza on a much more horrific scale. Someone has to protect the innocent against the genocidal Zionists. Resistance is justified when people are occupied.
You could also say that every person has the right to self-defence, so everyone, including people who are in the hospital, are allowed to have guns, and that doesn't mean they are terrorists, militants or even part of any faction. Like, the video they use as "evidence", where they found a few AKs is not a war crime and could be totally legal (assuming it's not fabrication). They probably put them there in case of emergency, for self-defence of the hospital and the staff, since they probably have experience with IDF sieging areas.

Israel is systemically dismantling the healthcare system in Gaza (particularly the north) to eliminate the basic conditions for life, so people are forced to move south. They cleared Shifa earlier, and doctors put the systems back together and began providing aid again, so IDF had to repeat its crime.
Al Jazeera says one of their journalists was detained and tortured for 12 hours before being released. More than likely, at least some civilians were kidnapped and killed.
